a number of people have reported that the USCIS operators have quoted mid may as the current processing date. more encouraging than early april.

Woo hoo!!

Just a got a letter in the mail stating that "Congratulations! Your request for the removal of the conditional basis of your permanent resident status has been approved. You are deemed to be a Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States. blah blah.. you'll get your card within 60 days."

By this time next year I should be a US Citizen! This puts an extra cherry on top of my day!

Christmas came early to our house this morning in the form of THE letter from Vermont.
Permanent residence status approved . conditions removed and green card on the way.
Remarkable as we had very little evidence or relationship as we don't do banks , credit cards etc.
Outstanding behavior Vermont, our adopted home state.

They won't be able to see thier case online if they are using the wrong Case Number.
remember the case number you need to use to check status is the case number available in BIO appointment letter and not the case number on first NOA.


We used the NOA receipt number instead of the application number on the Biometrics letter when we went for our appointment. Which number should have been used on the form that we filled at the biometric.

The Documents we took were....
Passport, Greencard,Drivers License, NOA notice[That has the receipt Number...which you need to fill the form], and the Biometric appointment letter for them to put a red seal on.

We had POE through Newark yesterday. They put the stamp in the passport and not on the visa. The office wrote CR1 on it but did not put an expiration date or sign it. We did not realize it until we were through check in for the second leg of our flight. How do we resolve this or is it a problem?

My Wife just got her new passport with her Married name on it. The problem is, they did the address wrong and left out one word. It should have the flat number, building, complex, city, state and country but they left off the building name.

We are concerned that this may affect the process and raise red flags and are debating whether she should go through the process again. It took about two months to get the passport and we hate to delay things by that much more.

What is the consensus here, will they be concerned that the building name is missing from the passport although it is on every other piece of documentation we have?

When I log onto the NVC page to see the receipts for the AOS and IV fee bill there is an option to email the receipts. When I have it emailed it tells me the following and sends a PDF attachment with the receipt. We received an email on the 14th saying the DS-230 was missing. According to the AVR, our DS-230 was entered into the system on the 14th of May as well.

It just takes a day or so for them to catch up.

We have our interview scheduled for July 28th. I am flying over to be with my Wife during that time, for support and to bring her home with me.

We would like some opinions on whether our proof of a Bonafied marriage is enough.

The things we don’t have:
1) We had a civil ceremony with immediate family and a couple of friends instead of a church wedding.
2) Because we had a civil ceremony, we do not have Wedding invitations.
3) We do not have a group photo of immediate Family. Dad was always taking the photos and he is in none of them.
4) We have some photos of our honeymoon but none with both of us in them.
5) We do not have any joint accounts as of yet.
6) We do not have chat logs.
7) We do not have photos with any of my family.

What we do have as proof are:
1) We have photos of the Wedding day from before the ceremony through the ceremony into having a reception lunch with
Immediate Family and friends.
2) We have honeymoon photos that we each took of each other.
3) We have photos of us at a luncheon with friends.
4) We have photos with us both and her Granny.
5) We have photos from my second trip to India when we went to see the Taj Mahal.
6) We have all the regular documentation required by the USCIS/NVC.
7) We have Copies of emails.
8) We have Copies of phone logs and text logs.
9) We have Proof she is beneficiary to my Life insurance policy at work.
10) We have Bank statements showing Hotel stays and Restaurant charges.
11) We have greeting cards wishing us a Happy Marriage.

They didn't write the date on my Wife's stamp at POE. We came in through Newark as well.

We waited three weeks and she still hadn't received her SS card, so she made arrangements to go to the local SS office. Thankfully, it is fairly close to our Home.

I married my husband, who is divorced and have 3 kids, but their kids live with his ex-wife. We both are hearing impaired(deaf). I would like to know how it will have impact on my interview and what kind of questions will they ask regarding his divorce and kids, so that I could get it prepared with my husband and have all the answers ready.

Hello everyone...Vibha had her interview on the 28th. Her Visa was approved. We are happy that this stage in our life journey together is behind us. We will be flying home to Texas on the 1st of August - POE of Newark.

We will post later with details but the interview was heavily biased towards dates of past events. Over 40 questions were asked. The consulate staff were nice and it did not seem like that many questions , it was more of a conversation than an interview. It got over in 15-20 minutes, and she heard the magic words....Your Visa is approved, after she said, "Do u want to see my husbands passport, he is waiting for me at the stars and stripes lounge?"

Thanks to God and the wonderful people on Visa Journey, without whom this journey would have been expensive and more stressful!!! than it already was!!!! kicking.gif
