Proof of meeting is pretty much a neccesity. Unless you can prove for certain circumstances that you were unable to meet in the last 2 years (like her country forbids you enterance or something). As far as evidence goes, you don't have to send only photos. You can send passport stamps, credit card statements, anything that will show she was in India at that point in time. If you stayed in a hotel together somewhere, a reciept from the hotel. Some people send phone bills to show that they've called each other, etc.



Thanks she can show all other evidence like ATM withdrawl or passport stamp ( she came to India last year) but unfortunately we dont have taken pics. togehter.Any suggestion?

Me and my fiance'e met last year(2005) dec. but at that time we didnt were not sure about us and we didnt know we will require a proof for K1 visa petition?
what kind of proof one can give to prove we have met in last 2 years?we dont have pictures together.
She came to India and we met here thats it.
In case this PROOF is necessary ...and we dont have it...is there any other way that she doesnt have to come back to India just for this proof as she is a student as well as she is working so its not easy for her to come back.

We read about involving international marriage broker but we dont know any thing about it...can any one suggest us?Preferably if you can give any such broker locaed in Mumbai city of India?

we understand that they look at 125% above poverty guideline income requirement.

But what exactly the sponsor has to show?past year return filed with IRS or past 3 years?

Also how they consider total income ?

for example a girl has income more than 125% of poverty guideline but she is also studying so most of her income is spent for fees to school and if you deduct these fees from total income it would come less than 125% of poverty guideline...

so please guide us about this sponsorship eligibility ( or the income proof and requirement)

Fee is now $455 to file I-129F.


today is 30th is there any way we can file with old fees like giving old date stamp from courier?not sure if its possible?

Nope POST Mark needed to be before July 30, effectively Postmarked July 28th.

apart from the fact that what you're asking the courier to do is against business practices (if it is at all possible), youi're going to have a cute little discrepancy on your mail which I'd like to see explained...say IF you get the courier to somehow postmark it earlier, your money order (which I'm presuming you haven't got yet since you're in here asking) is going to be dated from the day you get it...therefore you'll have the letter postmarked say the 27th of june even tho the money order wasn't issued until the 1st of august (for example)...hmm


also the other prob is I read we need to submit new form but I think when we give old date like 25th july it is also considered that old form will be valid correct?
I think if we give old date they gonna check why this has taken too much time to reach us?

If you have already submitted it, the application you have submitted will be denied and your fee is gone.

You will have to start again after you have met in person and can provide evidence of that with your new application and a new fee.


Are you sure it will be denied ..and we have to refile and repay them?...about this? do we need to confirm with usins? if yes can you give us the no.?

My fiancee is in USA,we met online and we learned that quickest possible way is fiancee visa but we also learned that meeting in person is mandatory and its not possible for her to come to India for longer time(max.only for a week) because of job and other occupations.
In this case I think of trying to get business visa...asking a sponsor letter from her claiming that we want to establish business together ( and which is a fact...we also want to do business together)

I want to know if I apply for business visa (I get it or not)...will it effect our fiancee visa petition later?

will they consider it negatively for fiancee visa if I try for business visa now (before filing fiancee visa petition?)

we have sent a money order issued from a bank instead personal check for I-129F
what is the advantage of sending a personal check over money order...I think only advantage is we will come to know when the check is en cashed right? am not sure about US bank issued money order.. can any one tell us if we will come to know when money order is en cashed?

also we have made some minor mistakes on forms...
1.on I-129F form we have written my ( beneficiary ) address with a black pen while rest other columns are printed...we had to do this because my address won't fit in the space they provided...
will this be any problem? will we get RFE for this?or will they return this?

2.Also on my G325A form while putting a date we made a minor mistake in writing a date and than corrected and she put my initials in her hand writing ...will this be a problem and we will have to submit again?

'Start gathering documents needed by beneficiary (Fiance(e))' and

We made a mistake in G-325A where it asked list all address you lived in last 5 years...mistake is minor .. wrong year is mentioned.....
we submitted this form with error (wrong year) ..and petition is approved...


now we have submitted DS-230 with correct details....so there is a mismatch in both the forms...

The temporary EAD stamp is given while processing your K-1 visa, so it depends on how long that takes, it can vary. I do not know if they give it to everyone voluntarily--if you are worried, just ask for it.

You can route your travel to go through JFK on your way to Seattle. I cannot estimate how much it will cost or how long the flight from NY to Seattle is, you will have to do some research on various airlines and their prices/schedules.


The stamp takes no extra time. Just ask for it. You can route through JFK to Seattle. Allow at least 3 hours layover at JFK. A non-stop flight to Seattle from JFK takes about 4.5 to 5 hours. It's Atlantic Coast to Pacific Coast. You can check the JFK terminal map online to see how far it is between terminals. I hate JFK but they do have busses between terminals.
