IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurescr1 visa- lied on tourist visa
This is Casa and you lied. I'd call a lawyer, this is probably going to negatively affect your visa. At the very least you'll be questioned about it a lot during the interview.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGet divorced and then (re-)engaged

Look, this thing about K-1s being processed faster might be temporary, so....

You might do that....

And then find that suddenly all CR1/IR1 visas are being processed in three months and K-1's taking nine months...

Don't risk it.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHelp w/ denial. Positive drug urine test & Stupidity

wait so did you husband blaze up or not? Is he saying the test is wrong? Sounds like he has to get drug tested for a year and pass then you can resume the process.

He admitted to use as a teen but it appeared on the test, which means he's been using and recently too.

Personally, OP, I'd be extremely pissed to near a point of divorce if I found out my husband, knowing that drug use make it hell to get to the US, used drugs just because.

Considering this is Casa it's astounding you didn't get flat out denied.

Looks like you'll just have to wait a year. And tell him to drink instead of getting high during the year.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMy Congresswoman offered to help...should I take it?

They won't do a thing because your case is within normal processing times.

UNLESS you file for, and have get approved, an expedite.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMy Congresswoman offered to help...should I take it?

I don't see what they're gonna do, other than tell you USCIS said that your petition is within normal processing times.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresApply for B2, Marrying in the US, Then applying for CR-1 after arrival of marriage certicate while still in the US

If you have no intent to immigrate, why do you need a B2 for six months AND an extension? Plenty, in fact most, couples make sure their documents are in order even if they're not physically together. Sounds fishy.

He'll probably get denied anyway, being from a high fraud country and all. Better is K-1. They're not stupid, if you lie about your intentions they WILL find out. There is little to no "mercy" with immigration processes.

Actually, forget the K-1, I'd go for CR1 right now.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCr1 visa problem

It is very relevant, possession vs dealing is a major factor.

Yeah, isn't dealing considered a crime of moral turpitude? As in, never stepping foot into the US?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresImportant! Urgent !!!!!!

haha yess in ap at embassy yeah i was just trying to see the opinion of others.

And you think if my husband has it hell be able to leave to the us ? God forbid that happening

I think and hope not.

AmyWritesFemaleRussia2014-04-24 12:53:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresImportant! Urgent !!!!!!

Putting a possible carrier on two or more plans all the  way to the US is, at the very least, very irresponsible.

Regardless of that, you can't really do much about AP other than wait it out.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFRONT LOADING AT US EMBASSY LAGOS

any specifics as to IR1/CR1 filers.

anyone with statistics on the figures of those who applied under this category in past years to those who got it so we can really debunk this issue of  lagos embassy been a high fraud consulate?

Lagos IS a high fraud consulate. *Maybe* Casablanca is on the same level.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFRONT LOADING AT US EMBASSY LAGOS

I might regret posting this, but I know someone who was a CO at Lagos (and at other consulates too, high fraud and lower fraud), and since I considered going that career route, I had lunch with her, discussing what it's like to be a CO.

She confirms Lagos is the worst in terms of scammers, and denials.

But relevant to VJ people, YES,  please front load, especially K-1's, as the odds are not in your favor for K-1's.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiling Myself or Professional help
I petitioned about a year ago (we didn't marry though, didn't work out), and it was time consuming but this site gave all the info I needed. Don't waste money on a lawyer :-)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA good Visa company or Law Firm recommendations

haha... actually I just checked. From December 15th 2010 to today, our Skype IM history is 1710 pages of text in a Word document :-D

So for the entire year, easily over 5000 pages of IM messages :-D

So... the question remains.. what exactly to give the USICS if even necessary?

The first time I did the K-1 (which I had to cancel as we broke up, sadly), I sent in copies of plane tickets, pictures, copies of birthday cards I gave him/he gave me, and about Skype, I took a screen shot (of the clean oens :innocent: ) and printed it out.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA good Visa company or Law Firm recommendations
Don't get a lawyer... the K-1 process is an expensive visa, with the AOS and everything.

Save the money for later on in the process, because it will get complicated. The first part is easy as pie.

Read the guides 15 times and then do this yourself. Save the lawyer money for after she comes over.

And frankly, a lawyer can't (at least to my knowledge) go to law school to specialize in immigration law. It's not like a lawyer would have access to secret information you don't know.
AmyWritesFemaleRussia2011-03-27 19:07:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresjust getting started
You definitely do not need a lawyer. However, why not get married in Russia and do a CR1 visa? It's cheaper I've heard.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresENGAGEMENT RING REQUIRED FOR VISA
I think it could be better in a way NOT to have it! You can tell the consular officer you're just saving money towards your future married life in the US :-)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswho in their right mind would sign the I-864????

We should at least be given the choice.

No, because you as a citizen should do everything in your power to make sure you or your family are not economic burdens to the US.
AmyWritesFemaleRussia2011-10-17 04:24:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswho in their right mind would sign the I-864????
1. You CHOSE to bring your foreign SO to the US, which means that you must guarantee they will NOT become a burden to the US. You could've married an American and not have to face this, but since you're bringing in a foreigner, it's your job to ensure they won't need assistance from the US.
2. She's making a HUGE sacrifice coming to the US too! You think leaving your job, family, friends, everything you've ever known, behind, is easy? You sign a few papers and one day your wife will come and you'll meet her at the airport. She however, has to re-start her life: make new friends, try to get a new job (which, if you read the jobs forum here, isn't easy for foreigners), get to know your family, maybe even learn a new language.
3. Relationships are wonderful, but they involve compromise and sacrifice. If you're truly against this, move to her country, or don't marry her at all.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOath during K-1 Visa Interview
I don't buy that this would happen at an easy consulate. When my SO got the interview, the interviewer's Russian was so bad my SO spoke English, but it was still an option. I don't believe it wouldn't be a choice in Kiev.
AmyWritesFemaleRussia2011-10-20 06:11:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance changing decision
I'm tempted to tell you to leave him, BUT if his doubts are purely economic, he might not have stopped loving you or anything; the reality is that it's very very very hard to find a job in the US now (even entry level ones) and foreigners might face an even bigger disadvantage because of language or other issues.

The only thing you can do is sit him down and nearly force him to talk to you about this.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSCARS! I NEED THOUGHTS PLEASE!
I have no advice as to what to say/do at the doc about this, but I had some scars I faded quite a lot with emu oil. If you can find it well it's quite effective.

Otherwise it looks like you don't have much to worry about, it was a long time ago, and just let 'em know you're okay now. Hope this helps some.

Don't worry, she has a K-1 visa, which is an immigrant visa, so, it's assumed she'll be staying.

Please don't bring her illegally. Illegal immigration is one of the reasons this process is so long, difficult and expensive.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGetting married Jamaica he's from Ghana?
Get married in Jamaica! The K1 is too expensive anyway. Or like others say, Guam, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands are also options.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI am 19 and have never worked. (no income)
The first time I applied for my fiance at the time, I was also not working, no taxes, etc. The petition was approved with a cosponsor, we broke up but I don't think it'll be a problem unless you are dealing with a difficult consulate.
AmyWritesFemaleRussia2012-04-08 14:23:00

Not really, but it's better to have it in case they lose something on it, and for your own peace of mind (which we seem to have too little of in this process!)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Interview and American ex-boyfriend
I'm not from Germany and I'm applying for a marriage visa, but it did come up in the interview, my husband was asked multiple times if he had dated Americans before. Just be honest. People get together and break up, it's normal, you'll be fine.
AmyWritesFemaleRussia2012-05-12 06:36:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs K-1 the best way for us?
If DCF is available in Korea and you've lived there that might be an option...
AmyWritesFemaleRussia2012-05-12 11:09:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresis there a way?
I disagree it won't matter, at my SO's interview they explicitly asked if he had tried to immigrate or if he had lived abroad before. He hasn't, but I think saying the CO's won't care is a bit of a stretch... really depends on how he feels this morning.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow Much Evidence of Relationship at Embassy?
Honestly it looks fine, but it helps to know what country you're interviewing in as some embassies are much more strict than others. For an easy-normal embassy I think you're fine.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhen To Apply
If you're willing to wait so long, why not get married in the UK or US, then you or he go back home, and apply for a CR1? It's cheaper and you won't have to AOS and go through two interviews like for a K-1.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow Do I Cancel I-129F Appliation Process

This is terrible advice!

If in the future this petitioner finds True-Love abroad and decide to file K-1 again,,,,,Well now you are considered a Multiple K Visa filer by IMBRA and will have to wait 2 years. The officer will bring this up in the interview of the future k-1 beneficiary.

Please withdraw the petition to avoid any future complications!

Please read B. Filing Limitations

More info: Here

Yeah, you're right, forgot about that. But I filed a I-130 for a different person after letting my I-129F expire, and even though it's not supposed to be an issue for marriage visas, only for K visas, it still came up in the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 and I-864 Joint sponsor?

I know that dear, but what I'm trying say is that its my basic right to have my husband it can be from anywhere. There is maybe some alternatives may Attorney will do it along with filling my petition I don't know.

I don't know much about Attorney thing that is why I wanna know about them that will they make any arrangements of co-sponsor there must be a way :( I need your guidance.

No, you don't, and you're going to have a real fun time applying for a fiance/spouse from Pakistan, going through the near obligatory AP and a hellish consulate, if you honestly believe that. And you can't hire someone to be a co-sponsor, it's a huge obligation and I hope you have some very loyal friends or other family members for it.

Working illegally and the appearance of applying for any visa just to immigrate will make this a very difficult case I think. Get a lawyer.
