Canada	IR1 / CR1 - Montreal Timeline to Interview	I'm still rather annoyed by the whole petitioner birth certificate thing. I've sent an email to NVC Montreal for clarification. I don't know if my wife can get a certified copy to me in three weeks...and I wouldn't want her to have her original taken. I think my husband has an extra one, I'll ask him to bring it "just in case". I wonder if they would still ask for it if he's with me with his US passport and all... My favourite era in the Montreal years! And the Plateau for the win! And yeah, don't say your address, I don't live there anymore so I'm okay... There was a micro brasserie I used to go to all the time, it burnt down, corner of Mont Royal and St. Laurent? They had honey beer in the summer, LOVED that place... not le cheval blanc but.... do you know it? Cheval Blanc is Greg's favourite Montreal beer! I lived on Laval too, next to the Carré St-Louis, hmmm, in 1987. Dieu du Ciel, on Laurier close to St-Laurent is my favourite microbrasserie now (but, I don't drink that much beer, so, beer forums may be a better resource than me) Barouf burnt down, but that is on St-Denis, they did reopen. The Green Spot and Fameux Viande fume on St. Denis, I think? There was another one on Mont Royal too! The Green Spot is in NDG, I think but awesome food! Poutine is perfect after bars... is it the fat? is it the sodium? Since you did EP, you will need to bring an original of every document you submitted. In theory, you don't need to take anything except 2 passport pictures and your interview letter (if you did not DCF or submit electronically). What most people bring is a copy of everything they have submitted and if you only submitted the last tax year info to NVC, you should bring the other 2 years as well. That's about it really. Now that it's at the NVC Case Complete stage and you're just waiting for an interview date, it's in the final leg at least. You'll almost certainly be one of the very first to get scheduled once they start doing it again. As soon as we got our interview date I was totally able to start plugging ahead and do things -- I was also motivated to do so. Having said that, I really do hope my wife can make it up there with me. It takes some of the pressure off too. And gives me someone to retrieve coffee while I'm in line. That's exactly what I thought, if I do this alone, I may end up being a basket case mid interview! But we'll decide closer to the interview what the best choice is. Canada	IR1 / CR1 - Montreal Timeline to Interview	Hi lonie, The sponsor must submit with the Form I-864 the sponsor’s U.S. Federal income tax return for the most recent tax year (that is, the completed tax year immediately preceding the date the sponsor signs the Form I-864). USCIS may generally expect a sponsor, after April 15 of any given year (or April 16 or 17, in a year in which April 15 is on a Saturday or Sunday), to have completed his or her tax return for the previous year. If the sponsor requested an extension, the sponsor should provide proof of filing for the extension. So basically, what that refers to is when you actually submit the form to NVC, or in the case of DCF, submit it at the interview. So, technically, since you have already submitted your I-864 and it has been accepted as sufficient, you should not need to provide a 'more' current tax return. I have read reviews, from other countries, where they have still been asked in April, but I don't remember one from Montreal. If you have a few recent paystubs with you, that would be a good idea. No problem with your Husband not attending the interview. Thanks for the info, trailmix! We just had that discussion last night about him sending me pay stubs, we're still deciding if he'll come for the interview, seems a waste though for 1 day!
