K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWhy do my numbers change on Igor's List?
Hi everyone!

Question for all of you and hopefully someone knows the answer.
On Igor's list, my fiance and my names keep changing numbers.
One day we are 1117 and the next we are 1123.
Is there a reason for this?

Thanks very much to all.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNo K-1's approved for a week??
Not getting a touch means NOTHING. If i log into USCIS it still says my file was last looked at the last week of January.
I literally just got my NOA2 hard copy on Monday. So the website is useless. Don't stress, its probably not lost....things slow down and things pick up. It'll get to you soon, don't give up hope.

And not to be a downer but once this is over then its time to wait for the interview....and for my consulate they are saying it could be like 4-6 months.....hopefully it won't be that long but i'm willing to wait however long it takes

Unfortunately its also about some cases being more straight forward than others. That also plays a factor in it.

They give you an estimate of 4 months for an interview but thats not usually the case. Also, its summer time and things seem to slow down a bit then. When you are seeing people from March not having interview dats yet, it may also mean that they have no updated their timeline. Many people forget to do this.

As for the cost of the envelope, it should be our responsibilty to pay it. The consulate can't be expected to pay 15$ for every person's ExpressPost. It has to be Expresspost because they have to put your passport with visa included in there and you have to sign for it when its delivered at home or when you pick it up from the post office.

Waiting really does suck the big one. And each case is different. Hopefully the wait won't be too long for you guys. I only just got my NOA2 and every day waiting for it seemed like it took forever. but once you have it, stuff really does start to fly. Don't give up hope! smile.gif

Do not rely on the website for anything. I never received a touch or anything and it still says on the site when I log in that my file hasn't been looked at since the last week of January when i sent it in.

Seriously though, we should be complaining to govt. officials on the way the USCIS offices are being run. Our money from applications funds this kind of stuff and yet we cannot get any straight answers when we call and the website is a bunch of #######

Just got our NOA2. We sent it in the last day of January. It was dated May 13th however and took 2 weeks to get to us.

I hope the rest of you hear good news soon. I think our case may have gone a bit quicker because we have known each other 17 years and gave them crazy proof of that with pictures from our prom 16 years ago and all that jazz.

But again, GOOD LUCK to you all and don't lose hope. It's coming.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionJUNE 2010 FILERS
Hello,

I've been starting to worry about not getting my biometrics letter from USCIS and didn't want to overly panic so came here for re-assurance. Not sure how re-assured I am seeing as most people who mailed their package in early June have received an appointment notice for the biometrics. Is it too soon to call to inquire ?

Our information : California Services Center :

VJ Name : CATOU1181 Date of I-751 : 06/01/10 (mailed 06/04/10) NOA1 date : 06/07/10 Biometrics date : pending.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAdvice Request for Filing on I-90
We heard back from the congressman’s aide yesterday. USCIS has decided to re-order the production of my 10yr greencard without my needing to file an I-90 form or pay the fee. I received an email confirmation from USCIS today that stated that production of my new card had been ordered today.

Thank you for the fantastic advice!!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAdvice Request for Filing on I-90
Is it possible to prove that it is USCIS or USPS's mistake if the letter did not have a tracking number(nothing I've ever received from USCIS has had a tracking number)? I'd love to be able to prove that, especially if it meant not paying $450.00 and having to take time off from work to go get fingerprinted again. That'd also be great if it means getting my card sooner.

Bascially, whatever is done(file, e-file or contest), if I don't hear anything and it's June, I should go to the field office to have my passport stamped and that would make things ok if there's still no solution by the time my 1 year extension is over?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAdvice Request for Filing on I-90
Hello,

I will try to briefly explain the situation :

June 2010 - Filed I-751 to remove conditions
August 2010 - Had biometrics
Sept 2010 - Received letter saying GC would be mailed within 60 days
Nov 2010 - Called USCIS because GC was not received. Was told it was approved 10/6/10 and that they would investigate.
Jan 2011 - Called USCIS because no status update. Was told card was mailed 10/6/10 and that I needed to file form I-90 for a replacement card using reason "B" - Card was issued but never received. I reviewed the instructions and it stated that if USCIS did not receive the card back as undeliverable, I need to file using reason "A" - Card was lost, stolen or destroyed. I called USCIS back to see if they'd received the card back but they would not answer me and told me I needed to make an appt at the field office.... did that... was told that the card was not returned and that I needed to file and pay the $450.00 fee.

I've got a whole package ready to send... Cover letter, I-90 form, Copy of my Permanent Residency Card (2yr) which is now expired, copy of the letter they sent me in September, Copy of NOAs for I-751, I-465, I-765, Copy of my appointment letter for Aug. 2010 biometrics. It was suggested that I also send a letter requesting that they waive the fees & biometrics. I'm planning to include a copy of the cleared check I sent back in June 2010. We're also including the $450.00 check for the I-90 fees in case they don't waive it(which is more than likely)...

Am I including too much? Too little? Would it just be better to file online since my extension letter gives me permanent residency status until late August only? Do I need anything special to file online?

I'm rather frustrated with the situation as my husband and I have been so diligent in keeping copies of everything and checking the mail regularly especially when we knew the card was coming...

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
~Cat

I think the official (long form) certificates only have one side, I could be wrong because obviously I have only seen them for my province but the small coloured birth certificate (wallet size) is not what they are looking for.

Called he NVC when I finally got home from work tonight, Montreal flooded this afternoon about a half hour before I was supposed to finish, and Case Complete!

Actually it was complete on the 18th and I have yet to receive an email!

Plus side, It won't feel so long waiting for an interview date since I've already been waiting for 11 days.

Hello all, Congrats to everyone.

I sent my IV package in on Sunday and my AOS checklist on Wednesday, called NVC last night to see if they had everything and spoke to Gus, who was super nice and told me the standard 'give them 20 days. . .' I really don't want to call every day, that music is awful! So I'll call again Wednesday. I'm really hoping for a late-June early-July interview - what are my chances?

Just got off the phone with nvc again, received two checklists today one for my ds-261 which Sage confirmed they have had on file since the 20th. "I think it's a mistake and they are asking for the ds-260" "but I have yet to receive the invoice" "you should get it soon". The second for hubby's AOS, a copy of his business licence or recent letter on company letterhead- which he does not have "began just create one and write a letter with details of his business and how long he's been self employed"

We have a joint sponsor I don't see why it is imperitive that we create some false letterhead for their enjoyment, but I'll jump through any hoop at this point, must find a friend with photoshop.

Sorry for your loss Sheesh.

I called the NVC last night about my lack of an IV bill and was told it's taking 20 business days for anything right now, my ds-261 was accepted on the 20th I should have my IV bill 20 business days after that, they received AOS package, 20 days to review, blah blah blah, she was very nice and apologetic about the backlog. Man I hope things speed up soon.

GRRRR! the NVC portal wont print the document cover sheet for me, when I hit the button the page reloads and nothing happens. It says on the page that if you are not eligible for electronic processing you need the document cover sheet, does this mean you don't need it for EP?

Have him fix the blanks of the I-864 to show his TOTAL income for three previous tax years. (this can be a big difference from adjusted gross! Mine was in the thousands)

so can he just fill in a new page 4 and scan it and email it to me, how much do they scrutanize our pdfs? will they notice that one page was scanned differently? or am I going to have to wait for snail mail?

and thanks for catching that by the way, we did his after helping his mom fill in hers and she filed with 1040ez

ummm Saylin?

I'm kind of panicking, I'm scanning my hubby's 1-864 and tax forms and have noticed some problems.

For his current individual income he put his business income (he's self employed) he put his adjusted income for the past three years on question 25, like the step-by step says. Neither amount is enough to cover the poverty guidelines, both amounts are in his tax transcripts, is this going to be an issue? do I need him to redo the I-864?

Also, and this may be the bigger issue; he has always used his parents address as his permanent mailing address, business address etc. until I come along with the whole visa process and now the bank and the NVC have his actual physical address. But his tax dude put the address on his tax forms as his parents!!! His mom is our co-sponsor, can I write a letter explaining what has happened or are we screwed?

what do I do? send it and wait for RFE? We paid the fee this morning. ACK!

Hello all!
Saylin I have some updates for you for your spreadsheet.
I arrived home from California on Tuesday (with both i-864's signed and ready) to find mail from NVC! I got all of my numbers almost exactly one month after NOA2 delivered to my door. I called and gave a very nice female operator my email address, after about five minutes of the most annoying pre-recorded music and messages I've ever heard! Signed on to the NVC last night and our AOS has already been invoiced. Sent the optin email at 11:30 last night and received confirmation this morning (!) that we were enrolled sucessfully. Just now finished the choice of agent form online. I forgot to bring a cheque home with me so I'd have hubby's bank routing number so I guess we will pay the AOS tomorrow.

We have everything for AOS except the joint sponsor's I-864, W2s and birth cert etc. I'm going to San Diego on Wednesday for a visit so I'll come back in two weeks with everything we need, and depending on the old NVC we may get started with the EP (I'm scanning what I have tonight) while I'm there.

Hey thanks for the input, I think we will do the EP - you are right about keeping all the originals in hand and some extra $$$.

His dad is retired but is getting a lovely pension from the Navy, his mom is also collecting a pension and is working too now so I guess we will just have one of them fill out the I-864, I thought they would both have to file since they filed jointly, but this will be easier.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - April 2012
Hello all,
Upon reviewing my dude's tax info, we will be needing a joint sponsor. His parents are more than willing to do this because his dad sponsored his mom via CR1 from England (the men in his family like us commonwealth girls I guess). So I just want to make sure I have everything straight.

-He will fill out the I-864, and provide me (and NVC of course) with past 3 years of tax transcripts. He is self employed so no letter of employment etc. is available.

-His Father (or Mother) will also fill out I-864 and provide tax transcripts, the other fills out the I-864a, as they file jointly. Do I need the past 3 years transcripts from them or is one ok?

-We will send copies of their citizenship/birth certificates - Do I need to have their originals for my Interview in Montreal?

If we don't have all of their paperwork by the time we have our MTL#, IIN . . . should we just send in his I-864 and wait for an RFE while gathering their info? Will it go through NVC without the joint sponsor? Can I just be prepared to provide joint sponsor info at interview?

I haven't even called NVC yet for the numbers because waiting for the NOA2 and constantly checking the USCIS website only to see the same thing day after day was really depressing, until it wasn't. I figured I'd give them a couple of weeks and make sure we had everything ready on our end, now I want to make sure our IV bill is issued after the price is reduced.

Also, since the electronic processing is still optional (I think) What does everyone think about it? Looking at Saylin's spreadsheet it doesn't really seem to be lightening fast in comparison to the regular processing. I know the spreadsheet has all countries on it but it seems like the fastest case completes are not using EP.

Thank you, thank you, thank you VJers (especially Saylin) I can finally see the end of this long(distance) tunnel and all of the info and support on these forums has kept me sane this past year.

I'm not sure which one he filed with I'll ask him tomorrow.
His gross income is over the 125%, but his adjusted has been 1-2k less for the previous few years.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - March 2012
We received our NOA2 on the 16th.
My husband is self employed, we thought that he would have to have an after taxes salary of 125% of the poverty line, is it true that they will be looking at his gross income because he is self employed? His gross income is over the amount but not his adjusted. He was going to have his tax guy make sure his 2011taxes showed his adjusted income was over the 125% even if this meant paying more. Would it look suspicious if suddenly last year he made enough, should he bother? Should we just have his parents co-sponsor?
Thanks all for your input, and Saylin you are a goddess for helping us all so much.
