The doctor created a new card that shows all the vacinations she received as a youth. He also calcuated the dates she received them. Are there vacinations not on the list that are required? US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	RENIEC REQUIRED!!!	UPDATE!!! God is working overtime for us! My mother in-law was able to get a new marriage certificate in Arequipa on Friday and sent DHL to Lima. My wife received the DHL on Saturday, RENIEC opens Monday 8:30am in Lima (3 days to process). When she went to RENIEC, they asked if she wanted it back today. She asked if that was possible, and they told her about a different office that could return it in 3 hours. She went to that office at 12:30 and our document was returned at 3:30 with the RENIEC endorsement. My wife then sent a DHL of document and her passport to the embassy. I called the embassy again to confirm that they were only waiting on this document to issue the visa. I also asked on the processing time once they receive it, I was told 3 days. We have rescheduled her flight for next Tuesday, July 15th. So the initial outlook was for a 3 week delay, but if things work out...it will only be 5 days!!! US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	RENIEC REQUIRED!!!	So here is the rest of the story... No where in the instructions. That includes on the USCIS, DOS, or Embassy Lima websites is this requirement listed. It clearly states it is for the birth certificates, not the marriage certificates. I spoke to the staff at the embassy and they said it is a requirement that is in the "Package 3" that they send out. I asked to receive a copy of that package and they e-mailed it to me. Sure enough it is there in the package. I will try to post a copy of it on VJ. The problem with this is that, my wife never received this packet, even though they say it was sent. And we from the posts on VJ and speaking with the NVC since Lima is an AP, the embassy dosen't send anything to us at all, it comes from the NVC. Not only that, but apparently if you are married in Lima you don't need this RENIEC endorsement, only those married outside of Lima. Enough of that though...For all who are going through the visa process I would have these documents endorsed by RENIEC whether I was in Lima or not. Good luck to the rest of you. The good news...My wife's visa is approved pending the receipt of this document! It should take about 2-3 weeks to get things straightened out and her passport returned. The ticket we had purchased for July 10th, is fully refundable and can moved to a new date...WHEW!!!!!!!!!!! So I am still hoping she will be here by the end of the month. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	RENIEC REQUIRED!!!	I hope I am able to save a few people the disappointment and frustration we are going through... After trying to ensure that everythig was in order with our documents, by following the State Department and Embassy Specific instructions on-line, we discovered today when our visa was "denied" pending the submission of a RENIEC endorsed marriage certificate. It was an apparent mis-interpretation on my part...but all Peruvians outside of Lima, need to have this endorsement. Birth Cert. (We Had RENIEC endorement) Marriage Cert. (If not married in Lima - We Did Not Have) I am told by embassy staff that this is the only thing holding up our visa. It will take a week for us to get the new document and endorsement. We then have to submit it via DHL to the embassy, which takes another 10 days to process + return time. I hope this helps....Peace	Arequipa4us	Male	Peru	2008-07-03 17:37:00

We had already rescheduled her flight to San Fransisco for Tuesday, July 15th. Everything is set and she will be spending her birthday in the USA, with her very happy husband. It was the Consular Officer who said we needed the RENIEC endorsement and I think he was confused because we are an IR-1, not a K-3. He has lumped everyone into the same classification. His mistake!!! We never received this packet, and our appointment was set by the NVC, not the embassy, so why would they send it to us. I would however get the RENIEC endorsement to avoid any delays. This is the only place that states the RENIEC endorsement is required on the marriage certificate. So whether "Packet 3" is used for K-1, K-3, CR-1, or IR-1, I thought it would be good info to share, after what we went through this week. Besides, what is another 30+ soles after everything else.
