Just saying.... our k-1 visa was granted today. Interview was completed within 10 minutes. CO started interview by asking me to tell her about my partner. Overall, about ten questions were asked. I will provide a full review a little later. Of all the documentations on hand, consular officer only requested, I-134, US tax documents with accompanying w2's. CO went through our picture album and that was it. CO did not request to see any of the followings documents, employment letter, bank statement, emails or any form of communication. Interview experience was gr8.

Most importantly, we want to thank all the little people behind this website and vjers. VJ was instrumental in our success otherwise, it would have been a very difficult process. Thanks. good.gif

Yup! Guys, I am really wondering why it's taking too long for them to process our visa application
compared to others crying.gif our applications like our I130 and I129f are both been received on
july and august repectively up to now we haven't heard from them about or NAO2, we're applying for
a K3 visa, anyone here have the same situation like us now...honestly, we're both getting a little
impatient because we really miss each other so badly, sure we talk on the phone everyday but it
is really different when we are together...in each other's arm...I really miss my husband so much..
and I can't wait to be with him again and live with him for the rest of my life...sorry..guys getting so
emotional now.....I know a lot of you here are going thru this same situation as I am, I just need to
let this out. Thank you guys for spending time to read this. I LOVE MY HUSBAND SOOO MUCH. yes.gif

Hi, Priscilla!
I'm sorry to hear this, even if we're going through the same s...t!
Just to cheer you up, i've heard different stories. People have to wait sometimes way too much, but look at it that way: you've waited so long, so there's much less time to spend apart, so keep on having faith.
And why don't you try to call straight to the uscis to find out what's going on?
i'm praying for you, guys!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswork permit
QUOTE (Gwen666 @ Jan 10 2008, 08:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
If the K-1 holder receives the employment authorized stamp on their I-94 when they enter the US, then they can work until the I-94 expires - 90 days.

However, there are more complications, like having to wait for a social security number to be issued (can't work without one) and actually finding someone to hire you who knows that it is acceptable to use the employment authorised I-94 as proof of legal work status, not to mention the fact that after 90 days you are no longer work authorised until AOS....

Biggest waste of time and money to go through JFK for the little red stamp, honestly.

I've got a SSN.
I was on a j1 visa last summer and received one.

AOS (Green-Card) or EAD card which ever arrives first.

And also K-1 should not file for EAD BEFORE filing for AOS. EAD BEFORE AOS costs $340 and can take 90 days or more to get and it expires same date as the I-94 card, so is a USELESS waste of $340.

File for EAD with AOS, using code (c )(9 ) this EAD is included in the AOS fee.

Thanks for the advice smile.gif

I have a major prpblem.I filed forms I129F and I130 in December 2006,and i have not yet recieved a NOA2.
As i read through the timelines of people who filed the same petitions,(some 6 months or more later than i filed),i see that most have already been approved.
Yet my case is still at the CSC. I called USCIS in September 2007 and was told that my case is under review at the FBI offices. The i called January 11,2007,and was told to call back in another 6 months.
Is there anyone else who is going through this? Can anyone help me understand why MY case is taking so long? USCIS sure cant.

I'm sorry to hear that.
That sucks, but atleast your case is not lost in nowhere...
Did you ask them when you called what's suppose to be the problem?
Maybe you should contact some officials for better information on your case?

US Embassy and Consulate Discussiontranslate the police certificate?
QUOTE (AUBGER @ Jan 9 2008, 03:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
For Moldova particularly. If you are going to get your police certificate do NOT choose it to be in English. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is kinda stupid in Moldova and the translation is wrong!
Have it done it Romanian since the Romanian embassy can read it and to sleep better at night have it translated and legalized. I would recommend you a specific place. Hotlul Cosmos. On the 4th floor the have translation bureau called "Teodonica". They are good, fast and affordable. You can pick up your translation and legalization from the same place the same day usually.
Have your Birth Certificate Translated and legalized and please make at LEAST 3 copies of those. You will need one for embassy, one for AOS application and have one just in case. At least. I'm angry I only did 2...I don't have an extra one now if I need it. God forbid.
PS: Don't get your police certificate now. It's only valid for 3 months and by the time you'll have the approval it might expire.

When you translated your birth certificate did they give you the translation on a big A4 paper?
I was wondering is this going to be my only birth certificate i'll have in USA? Just an A4 sheet?
Or they're going to issue another american-type birth certificate?

QUOTE (babybluesusie @ Jan 9 2008, 12:09 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i also think its important to mention here that if the police certificate is in the native language of the country where the interview is to be conducted, it is very likely that the embassy will accept it as is...in other words, my fiance got one police certificate from italy and another from albania...he was only required to translate the one from italy, because packet 3 specified that documents can be accepted in either english OR albanian

as far as whether or not the petitioner / beneficiary can translate the document themself, i think it varies by embassy...if youre planning on doing so, i would contact the embassy to ensure that they will accept it

Thank you!
But to sleep better, i'd do this at the translations office.
Thanks again!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionEmbassy Issues
QUOTE (MasikAndKisya @ Jan 14 2008, 08:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Okay,
So I figured out what part of the problem is with the Kyiv Embassy. Maybe this isn't indicative of everyones experience, but it makes sense to me. This is a letter I sent over there, it speaks for itself, but the locals working at the Embassy need a reality check:

Dear Public Liaison Unit,
The customer service that my fiancée and I have received from this sector of the Consular Section has been impeccable, and I thank you for that. However, the service experienced by my fiancée from the Embassy’s locally hired Ukrainian speaking employees has been atrocious. I am absolutely outraged at the way she was talked at while being notified, via phone, of her passport being delivered back to her today. Likewise, I am appalled that the Embassy would even hire individuals who are lacking basic social graces and polite communication skills. I am sure that the Embassy does not need to be reminded that the individuals working for it are the face of the United States government. As an American citizen I am appalled that anyone would criticize an individual over the phone on not picking up on the first ring and continue on to taunt them about not receiving their VISA in the mail in a timely manner because of it. Furthermore, to speak and behave in such a manner with a matter as delicate as a K-1 VISA is simply unacceptable. If the individual is so unhappy with his job then perhaps he should be reminded how wonderful it is to be unemployed in Kyiv. Furthermore, I would expect that this type of behavior is an outlier and is not representative of all local employees at the Embassy. Given the gravity of this situation it would seem that disciplinary measures need to be taken against the individual, as I doubt that this was the first time an act of this nature has taken place. I will assume that the Embassy would have taken this course of action without my suggestion. A written apology will be sufficient to right this wrong. Pending no response an official complaint will be filed with my Congressional representative and my Senator.

Concerned,
Yuriy

I can see something really objectionable happen to make you write these words, but let us know if there will be any reaction from their side.
I hope, that your complaint will be considered.

You might find it difficult to leave the country without your passport. Since the Consulate where the interview takes place will need to keep your passport to put the visa inside, you can plan on sticking around. You'll want to find out the visa delivery options for the country in question. Since you won't likely have a mailing address in country, I expect they can arrange for you to pick it up. Just contact the Consulate.

Thanks, sounds logical,i wanted to make sure.

What about your medical? Are you gonna be having it in Moldova or the country where you'll be going for your interview??

Yeah, check the link to the Information Packet from the Embassy in Kiev - to use it as an example. Right now, I'd only be concerned about police certificate (if you lived in other countries than Moldova for longer than 6 months) and your birth certificate that must be translated and notarized. Police certificates are valid for either 6, or 12 months, so still you may do it a bit later.

For your visa interview, you'll also need to sumbit an Affidavit of Support, I-134 from your fiance that must be notarized by notary public in the US (I think all countries' applicants do it with no exception.) Check this form from "Example Forms" on this website.) You can also find it here --

If she can't find them, will they make her get all the vaccines again? She was told at her private doctor's office that some vaccines are for kids only and if you've received them as a kid, you can't (shouldn't?) receive them again.

But what do you do if you can't find the vaccination records from your childhood? Any suggestions?
