I am planning to fly to the Philippines to be with Arlyn during the interview, and got the approval from my work to take the 10 or so days off I need. The thing is, how soon can I get the plane ticket for Arlyn after we get the Visa in hand? I want her to fly home with me, and sit together on the plane! Also, do we need to buy round-trip because it is K1 visa? I heard rumors of this. I am hoping we can just buy normal one-way trip and be able to do so right after she gets visa in hand. I know I went to Makati before to make a change in my Northwest Airlines flight last time I was there, and they had plenty of room. Difference is that this will be right after the New Years, and spots may be limited. Arlyn and I are always anxious when the other is injured, ill or just plain stressed from work. There's really nothing you can do but cheer each other up during those times. We'll sometimes send cards, flowers, chocolates or write each other a poem. Anything to cheer the other up, and we've both had our moments where the other was helpless in helping the other. Yesterday, I received the letter from the NVC stating our case #, etc, so I know there's not a problem with the address. Yet, the CSC has not sent me either an NAO1 or an NAO2. DOS NOTE: The DOS has no direct participation in the K1 process (only access to the computer system to view the status of cases). You can also go to the Manila embassy website and check to see if any dates have been assigned to your case. Or just go here. Let me know what you find out. I just called today and they told me the packet was sent out to Beth today. The website still doesn't show any dates for the case number yet. I hope they just need to update the system. Hopefully the packet Beth will receive will have dates already assigned. Thank you very much for the input! Since our packet has been following the same timelines through NVC and were likely mailed together, I am going to assume that Arlyn's packet was mailed out today. I'm just estatic! I finally got through NVC's phone lines and discovered they forwarded our case to Manila back on November 6th! It took me a total of 243 calls over the period of the last 5 business days to get through to a live representative. That doesn't even include the busy signals I received inbetween. Basically, what would happen is the automated service would take over after 1 minute, and then give you the option to press 5 again--at which point it would end the call with you and tell you to try back later. However, on the call I made it through, the automated service put me on actual hold and started playing music. Take my advice--if you aren't on music hold, then just hang up and call back--because you'll just get looped back. If you get on the music, that means you made it through to the waiting line, and you need to stay on hold until they answer. Only took 7 minutes once I finally got music. I hope no one else has to call that many times to get through, but unfortunately, the only time I have available to call is during their prime time hours. Finally got our NVC #, and I'm so thrilled at the moment! Anyone know if there is a way to track when or if it has arrived to the Manilla embassy?	Stibnite	Male	Philippines	2007-11-14 15:49:00

Can my husband apply for citizenship 3 years from his date of entry into the US, even if he came on a K1 so didn't have a green card for about 7 months after he got here? from what I read on the USCIS website that's the impression I'm getting, but don't want to get my hopes up too high. He can apply three years from the date of his green card, actually 90 days before the three years on the date of his green card; so just like you have applied for this I-751 90 days before his two year green card expires, basically you can apply for citizenship the same time next year. I wonder if it has anything to do with what part of the country you guys are in and that those biometric centers are backed up and that they don't mail out the notices until they have your scheduled within a month from the notice. I'll be flying out from RDU (Durham/Raleigh) on May 15 and my GC expire May 9... I mean driving to Charlotte 2 times becasue one for bio and one for info pass to get stamp.. I hope they understand that it'll take me about 3 hours to drive there and i'll lose my work day and let me have info pass the same day as my bio (April 23) so I can take only one day off. OR hopefully we will get our extension letter next week!!! Anya - do you know for sure the biometrics office is the same location as the Infopass office? When we lived in Birmingham during AOS, our biometrics was actually in Birmingham but for Infopass we had to go to Atlanta. We are now in Tampa and we have both here but they are at different places in Tampa - one right outside Tampa and the other sort of near the airport. She didn't get the most helpful person. All she told us is that the number of my check serves as temporarily proof for my green card extension (what?????) and that she will put in a special request into the system as of why we haven't received anything yet. She refused to give any information (also no tracking number) or to connect to an immigration officer at NSC. Of course, we are slightly annoyed right now and will try calling again in some minutes, hoping to get someone else. Yes Kalydon, call again. If you have kept up with this thread you will read that several of us have called numerous times until we got a "helpful" person. I just wrote down the names of the people I talked to that were not helpful and if they answered I would have just hung up and tried again. I took me three times getting someone and I think it took three times for someone else on here to. I have my biometrics too! Yipes, it is for Saturday April 19th at 2 PM. That changes our plans for Saturday - I have company visiting from Canada that week, and we were going to go to the Renaissance Festival - looks like that will have to be Sunday instead. Heheh could have been worse - it could have been scheduled when I was supposed to be driving her to the airport! Hmm - the notice date is April 3 - took a week to get here. But hey - it's here! CONGRATULATIONS! I forgot they were doing some on Saturdays. Keith will have to take off work a half a day as his is at noon. He works 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. so he can at least get a half day in. I had seen on the AOS site when I was bored and looking the other night that Tampa is real slow with biometrics (at least for the AOS biometrics) so that is probably why ours is so much farther out than everyone else's (May 1st). But that is fine, at least we have a date now. Ours is dated 04/03/08 too (a Thursday) but was postmarked 04/07/08, this past Monday. Anya - waiting on your post!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know if you will be able to get the stamp at the Application Support Center which is where they do the biometrics. You may want to make a back-up infopass appointment as well that you can cancel if you need to just to make sure you don't have to try and make one on a short basis after the biometrics and they don't have an appointment slot available. I called today and the first person I got was very helpful and know what she's doing so she transfer me to national service center without me having to fuss or ask for. Then I got my case number!! and yea, I'm staying in Texas and she also said if I do not get my extension letter by the 14th I should call back.. that's good.. then I can buy my ticket to Canada! so seems like they sent me the letter since March 19 so... we'll see! YEA Anya!! Glad you finally got a good person. Supposedly they sent me a letter too on March 12th (that's what the site shows under our info.) but we never received it. I think they just say that as I have read a lot of people's comments say that the computer generated messages say they have sent out notices but they haven't gotten one, at least not until they have gotten their biometrics letter.
