Middle East and North Africaage different

I dated someone who was 18 years my senior for almost a year. The relationship didn't work primarily because he had raised his children and wanted my 'undivided attention'. Even though he said he understoond my obligations, he could not cope with the fact that I had other commitments outside of our relationship and that my kids were my priority. For a 56-yr old man, he was very insecure, and I couldn't stand being smothered.

He only lived a mile away... and not on another continent.

Jen

Similar experience.....only with a 22 year gap....the older person can often be insecure. We have a 10 yr old son and I often feel sad for him that he will lose his father at a young age.

Middle East and North AfricaMuslims & Christmas
As an atheist Christmas means little to me apart from a pleasant time of the year where I get to eat more, ppl are a bit more pleasant, and I see more of my family than usual

But this year my son's school held their xmas concert in the local church and I felt quite uncomfortable about that....I went of course but I did not like being forced to enter a religious building....I went because I didnt want my son to be dissappointed that I wasn't there to see him sing....and no I didn't contribute to the little cash collection that always happens in church :hehe:

Anyway..this has little to do with your topic but felt like getting off my chest....hehehehe....

QUOTE (FFFFF-rrrrr @ Oct 24 2007, 07:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi its me the BAD Moroccan, abuser, the cheater that this topic is all about, but Im replying hear to first response to Cherry, the way how you are thinking is what made your man leave you, you know because you are just thinking in one circle, so where was your bright thinking and genuis resolving for the issues when you went to Morocco, if you read so well and understand the whole things you will see that i left without a GC because i dont want to be told the same things you have said about your EX or whatever.

So who want to listen to the other side of the story? none ?

But here what I tell you all, It was my dream to have a kid was my dream to be a father, ok why did I leave then? I will answer, and am not regretting that I left

It all started when my brother needed money and i let him take some money from my account( which its my money, I pay the rent I pay the car loan, I my step daughter schooling fees), borrowed 18000 to get a new car, (on her name How stupid is that)......theres more..

will you let your mother swear at your husband and kick him out( was i married to that lady or was she paying my rent)

The only reason Am still staying in the US is to find what i can do to protect my kid and what will be my responsabilities, and Theres alots the court will decide and I cant wait for that,

From my experience i will tell alotof of you are a good wives by the way how you defend on your husband abscence!!! I was abused inside my house, and guess what my debit card and my money was all taking in the morning so i was left with anything,

JUST for you all to know Am a Arabic Moroccan Muslim that never get rid of his own ( my kid )

Umm...no real comment on this ^^ But how come you guys so readily accept that this is actually the OP's husband? Maybe I have just missed something.

QUOTE (just_Jackie @ Jul 18 2008, 07:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
lol this is amusing....it takes more than this to get us going. We are a passionate, crazy bunch and fighting with each other just doesn't hold the attention like it used to.

We have lost friends and members due to divorce, death .....the longer we are together--the closer we become, as we travel across states to meet each other in person. It's hard to knock the ####### out of someone after you've been to their house and held their kids.

So, try as you may, we'll rear our pretty heads when we want to, on our own schedule....but do stick around,,,a drama crisis can arise at any moment. Don't hold your breathe tho...we're on a unicorn/rainbow/warm smoke up your butt break. good.gif

I personally wouldn't want to live in Orlando itself, the crime rate is high, there are some nice areas surrounding the city and of course areas to avoid, do plenty of research. The vacationing experience is very different from the living experience. Although, I must say, it is a very beautiful area, I lived about an hour 20 away from Orlando on the coast but visited family often in the city. I can't say I was sorry to leave though.

Good luck in your decision makings! :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresdivorce

Shon, I'm disappointed in you. I stood up for you in your first run in here (rightfully so) and have always shown myself to you to be fair and a non-flame if you recall our past conversations. I provide sources for my information beyond my own experiences and I typically don't argue minutia. This is an important error you made and it's unfair of you to not take the correction or provide proof for your point beyond the fact that you made 2 errors in doing this before.

Wow, I'm amazed by the fact that:

1. Shon's posts are taken personal, which in turn
2. Calls for a need to confront her and in front of everyone, its justification being
3. An accusation of misleading info. given, quickly followed by
4. Demanding an explanation and ordering her to correct it.

Incredible!

Middle East and North AfricaEMBASSY CALLED MY HUSBAND!
Hi everyone, today is my husbands birthday and our 1 yr anniversary,(we got married on his birthday). Well he had his interview a few weeks ago on june 23rd, they requested a small tax letter from me the petitioner. They just received his letter a few days ago on Monday. Well anywayz today the embassy called my husband and asked him a few questions like what is your fathers name, whats your mothers name, what are your sisters names, what is your passport number and Haweeya number?(i guess they were doing their background check at this time) Random questions like that. They informed my husband that they received the tax letter, and that everything is good with his case, and that they are going to review his papers and call him within a month for his visa.

I am soo happy, i thought today would be a sad day because its our anniversary and his birthday but alhamdullilah GOD gave us something to be happy about. I am so surprised they called him only a few days after receiving the letter!!!!!! This lets me know they are moving quickly and i know now that everythings going to be okay and well be together soon!! kicking.gif

There was a similar case just posted out of Pali. They asked for further info, told him everythign was fine and after it was turned in, they advised the husband that he was on AP. I REALLY hope that isnt the case with you guys.
MOST of the time when they ask for further docs or evidence, they issue the visa shortly after receiving the requested forms/docs/evidence.
Stay on top of the consulate. You can email them and ask when how long to expect the visa to be issued after they receive the evidence wink.gif

Good Luck!

Hi i believe i know who your talking about from palestine, i belive they requested a police certificate from him because he was in jail for a few years, but i wish him all the best. They only requested small letter from me, so i hope things go well. Inshallah they do. i cant wait for all this to be over!

I hope so too. Thats why I said most of the time, its an easy thing..get the visa in a matter of weeks.

I hope everything goes well too, me and my husband havent seen each other in 10 months, i just feel like all i have are memories and i feel like hes so far away from me. Its so hard, we fight alot now, i wish i could go back to see him but he would rather have me here because the life over there is hard AND he has an EVIL stepmom who treted me horrible, so i really hope things go well inshallah.

His name is also mohammed. But for his interview he had to get both a palestinian and israeli police certificate which are both clear with no criminal background, and the embassy has those. In israel its very hard for the arabs to get around israel without a special permit which only few are able to get, so life over there is basically just work and home.

Hi everyone, im from palestine, i cant believe ive never found this forum until now. Anywayz i have a question maybe someone from MENA can give me some advice. Well my husband had his interview on june 23rd, the co told him everything is perfect but he requested a "no tax note" from petitioner (me) signed and dated, just a small letter saying i dont pay taxes and i live under my father, you know how it is, its not really required for a women to work or move out she gets married, and i just turned 20. Anywayz i sent the letter to my hubby and the embassy received it on monday. The co told my hubby well call you to send in your passport after we receive this letter, and he told my hubby dont worry because this isnt a major problem.

My question is, has anyone from MENA ever had the same experience where the co requested additional info after the interview and got the visa shortly after? i would LOVE to hear from someone with the same experience.

Looking forward to hearing from fellow MENAs!!

Middle East and North AfricaMY WORST NIGHTMARE
Hi, havent been around for a while. Please anyone give me some info or advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband had his interview at the consulate in jerusalem on JUNE 23, 2009, the co told him everything was fine but they just needed a "no tax letter" from me the petitioner.
The embassy receives the letter a few weeks later, and on JULY 17, 2009, the embassy called my husband and asked him a variety of questions, they asked him questions such as:
What is you mothers name?
fathers name
sisters names
what do you work
have you ever been out of the country
and they also asked for his haweeya number
The embassy told my husband that they received the letter that was requested after the interview and that they are just going to review his papers one more time and it will take from 1-3 months for them to call him back for his passport.
2 days ago i just received a letter in the mail from the embassy saying (this case is complete but needs additional administrative processing and they will call us as soon as it is complete)

I called DOS and the case is in washinton in AP.
My question is why did they send the case to washington and put him in ap if they already called him and got all their information??????????? He has no criminal record or ANything out of the ordinary, they already questioned him when they called him!!!!!!!!!!! Does anyone have any experience, ideas anything, how long can we expect to wait in ap for???? Will it be just like the embassy told my husband when they called him, 1-3 months. And the paper they sent me says that they have completed the case but just needs additonal processing. AND his name is MOHAMMED, common. So how long can we expect to wait for, please anyone help!!

Middle East and North AfricaCASE STILL AT EMABSSY
Hi everyone i called DOS two different times today and i was informed that my husbands case is still at the embassy, they didnt send his file anywhere, so i guess his ap is at the embassy level, now i understand why they called him and questioned him, the lady from DOS also informed me that it was a background check. I told her how they called my husband and asked him a variety of questions and i asked her does that help the ap--she said yes because it means their working on the case trying to complete it as soon as possible and that i can call back anytime to check his status and to find out when its in its final stages. My relief is that its still at the emabassy. Has anyone in mena ever had an ap at the embassy level and how long did it take?????

good luck everyone

Middle East and North AfricaEMAIL TO EMBASSY
I just sent an email to the embassy in jerusalem regarding my husbands case. He had interview on june 23rd but they requested a letter from me, which the embassy already has. AFTER the email i got an auto response saying random things, like it generally takes 4-5 days to respond, and it actually has a list of frequently asked questions and one of them was this:

Q: Can I pick up the visa the same day?

A: Because of the administrative processing associated with visa issuance, it is not possible to issue visas on the same day of the interview. Assuming that the applicant appears with all required documents and the case does not require additional administrative processing, the visa could be ready in as little as one week. However, most cases do require additional processing, and this can take significant time. Please do not make travel plans until you have your visa in hand. Visas will be returned to applicants when they are ready by courier.

My question is, the co told my husband everything is perfect in your file we just need a letter from your wife "no tax note" and well call you to drop off your passport because this isnt a major problem. He got a 221g with no tax note written on it and on the bottom it says...if your submission meets the requirments then theyll ask him to drop off his passport. The 221 g didnt state that it needed additonal processing just this letter. But reading this particualr section from the auto response got me soo down. IS this a normal thing for ALL embassies to state about the visa issuance, Ive read some mena interviews where additonal documents were requested and they had no problems getting the visa shortly afterwards. i realy hope all goes well. Hope to hear from some MENAS soon.

Hello. I need your help. My husband is living in Israel. Our CR-1 is in NVC and almost ready to be finalized. I have a question about the Police Certificate from Israel. Did you send to NVC the Police Certificate, or just requested from the Police Station and they will send it directly to the US Embassy? Did your case had completed without this certificate or we need to wait until the NVC received the confirmation from the US Embassy in Jerusalem that my husband does not have any criminal records and after the confirmation the case will be completed. Please advise and thank you.

WELL IF HES WITH THE JERUSALEM EMBASSY LIKE MY HUSBAND, THEN HE NEEDS AN ISRAELI POLICE CERTIFICATE AND A PALESTINIAN POLICE CERTIFICATE. THE ISRAELI POLICE CERTIFICATE HE MUST REQUEST IT AND THEY SEND IT STRAIGHT TO THE EMBASSY. BUT THE PALESTINIAN POLICE CERTIFICATE, THEY GIVE THAT STRAIGHT TO HIM AND HE NEEDS TO SEND IT TO YOU SO YOU CAN SEND TO NVC. MY HUSBAND ACTUALLY RECEIVED A CHECKLIST FOR A MISSING DOCUMENT FOR HIS PALESTINIAN POLICE CERTIFICATE BECAUSE HE SENT IT TO THE EMBASSY WITH HIS ISRAELI P-CERTIFICATE, SO HE HAD TO GET THE PALESTINIAN BACK, AND SEND IT TO ME, I UPS'D IT THE SAME DAY AND MY CASE COMPLETED THE FOLLOWING WEEK. SO THE NVC NEEDS THE PALESTINIAN CERTIFICATE, NO TRANSLATION REQUIRED FOR THAT. I HOPE I HELPED!!!
