It makes me tired but if i have to get it then i will cause my hubby would be mad at me if i did anything that would delay me seeing him. lol

O.K, so May 26 was my medical.

I got an 8:30am appointment but got there 7:53 registered and sat down, the doctor came about 8 o'clock but no one was called until 8:30, they called about 10 of us to go inside and sit down.

When i went in the doctor's office he explained that this medical is required by the US to check if i have any diseases or illnesses, blah blah blah. I was told to take off my blouse and my bra, put on a robe and sit at the edge of the bed. He then told me to lay down while he examined me. That went well.

Went outside and sat in another section as instructed until my name was called to go get my blood drawn. Wasn't too bad.

Next they weighed me checked my height and told me to sit and wait to go to the clinic next. In the clinic they took my temperature and my blood pressure level. No vaccines needed.

Went to another section for chest x-ray. that took about two minutes.

After the chest x-ray i sat for about half an hour and no one told me what to do next so i asked they lady responsible for sorting our dockets. She then told me to change into my clothes and wait for further instructions, 15 mins later still nothing so i got up and asked a nurse what to do next. She told me to go to billing which i did. Sat in billing for another 15 mins no one called my name so i went back inside to the lady with the dockets told here I've just being sitting around. She then looked for my files and sent it to billing, billing here i come.

My name was called to go pay my bill so i went inside went to the window and sat down. The cashier said us$100 or JD$8000 how do you wish to pay, JD or US, i said JD. I took out the money and gave it to him waiting to hear another amount but none came so i asked, is that it? He said that is all i see, i guess you have been a good girl, you got all your shots.

I was so Happy (though i had the money)

All and all it went well even though i didn't finish until 1pm (4 1/2hrs!) and wasn't able to go to work.

It will be worth it in the end.

All the best candy

left home at 4:30am
got to the embassy @6:30am line was already long @6:50 they start to check us off making sure we have all that is required to go inside and making sure we didn't have what was prohibited like cell phones and weapons etc. I was #9 but wasn't call in that particular order. Sat and wait for about 30 mins for the first lady to call me to the window, fingerprint was done, hand over the medical and was ask 2 questions by her.

1. Have you ever been to the US? YES

2. Is any other family member coming in for an interview today? NO

Told to sit once again and listen for same number. Waited for a mere 10 - 15 mins then my # was called a white lady this time, soft spoken young lady she was and very nice too.

Question she asked was:-

1. Is your husband here with you today? NO

2. Have you ever been to the US? YES Why this question again

3. How long do you know your husband? 5 yrs hello

4. Does he have kids? YES a daughter

5. With you YES

6. Is she here or in the US? Here waiting on me got her visa February

7. How often you see your husband? Every 3 or 4 months since we met 5 yrs ago

Then i heard the words i wanted to hear from i reach the embassy your visa is approved take this ticket and go arrange for delivery.

They didn't even ask for any further evidence, i guess the questions about our daughter said it all.

Yes lord all that hassle is finally over the long wait with that backlog paid off.

I was in by 7:00 out by 8:00

The earlier the better I guess.

Thanks Kerran we did it, all the best and thanks to all for their post and review sure help alot.

Got there 7:20 for my 7:30 appointment.

A lady at the front asked for my letter, passport and two pictures. She gave them back to me then sent me in the line to go inside.

Went through security check point then into the courtyard where about 50 peoples was waiting. I went straight to the door and joined the line to get the yellow slip to write my passport number on.

The man said go inside and sit on the right. All seats were taken so i stood to the side.

The man who gave me yellow came inside and said he had bad news and good news which one do we want first. We said the bad news. He said the numbers on the ticket will not go in order and the good news is we will leave before the people on the left side. Everyone cracked up.

I love crossword puzzle so while i was waiting i did two pages, tried to relax.

About 9:15 i was called to the window to do the finger print.

The lady asked:

Who is filing for you?
Have you ever been to the US?

She asked for my passport, pictures and medical.

Did the finger print and said sit until you hear your number again.

In about 5 minutes i did.

The interviewer asked who is filing for me?

Then said one moment pls and went to the window i came from earlier. I was like what the F@$K?

She then asked:

How did you meet?
How long have you been intimate?
When did you decide you wanted to get married?
Why was he here in '07?
Do you have any children?
Is your daughter going with you?
Does your husband have any children?
How often do you see each other?

I asked if she wanted to see the stamps, she said yes and took them from me.

She didn't ask for any evidence.

Then she said your visa has been approved go to window 28.

To add a bit to the already correct info.

Even if you're clearly applying for a CR-1 visa, some of your paperwork at the consulate (and maybe NVC) will say "IR-1" on it. Don't get too excited about pointing out that "problem". It's normal procedure.

They process the two types exactly the same. If the couple is close to their two year wedding anniversary, it may not be clear which kind of visa they'll get until the day they actually get the visa, because a slight delay could change a CR-1 to an IR-1. So they don't make a distinction until they're ready to issue the visa, even for couples whose timelines make it pretty clear which kind of visa they'll be getting.

And note that, if you get a CR-1 visa a few weeks or months before your second wedding anniversary, and then you wait outside the US until after your wedding anniversary, and enter the US after your marriage is more than two years old, you'll enter with your CR-1 visa, but get IR-1 status and an unconditional ten year green card (assuming the officer at the POE doesn't make a mistake, which isn't always a good assumption). The type of status you get is determined by the age of your marriage on the date of entry to the US, while the type of visa you get is determined by the age of your marriage on the date the visa is issued. The status is what determines whether or not you'll have to file for removal of conditions, so it's the only thing that really matters for practical purposes.

Thanks for the additional info.

Thanks for all the replies. You guys "crack-me-up" no offense. I'm not sure how this child support thing works or what exactly the issue is but I'll surely ask her. I for one doesn't trust him, there's something sketchy about him based on how she talks about him. I've told her to check him out first (background check) to make sure he is who he say he is but she seems pretty content. She would need a visa to go to mexico and P.R She did say something about him not being able to get a passport and he was locked up for child support or something to that effect.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNo pictures or evidence what to do?

It's very unlikely to be approved without having met the meeting within two years of filing condition. Your friend could potentially attempt to file a waiver on that requirement, but those waivers are also very unlikely to be approved.

Sorry. :( I know that isn't the answer you were hoping for.

I'm guessing she isn't likely to be approved for a tourist visa to visit him in the US?

And you may not know and it's probably not my business, but what "child support issues" prevent him from leaving the country, even temporarily?

Visas are hard to get in Jamaica but she's thinking about trying to get one, as for the child support issues I'm not too sure what but I think it went to court so it's kind of a big deal.

The child support issue effects his right in having a passport. He needs a passport to travel, so since he is behind in CSP, his passport is deemed void. There is NO waiver that he can qualify to over-come this.

I see. Thx

Hi everyone,

I'm asking on behalf of a friend who.
My friend lives in Jamaica and has been talking to this guy she met online for about a year now. He cannot travel due to child support issues and so they are thinking about doing a fiance visa but they have no pictures together or any form of evidence that they're truly together. They talk on the phone every day and he sends her money which she keeps the recipt for but she's afraid it might be enough so she needs some advice as to what to do. Should she talk the chance with the fiance visa?

Thx in advance

Hello all,

I plan to move into a new place right before my fiancee from Canada(beneficiary) moves to the U.S. This is after the interview process and all, which is still a while away, and I want to know what we'll both have to do once we both move. Is there a phone number or a form that we both have to fill out online? Please point me over to where I can find this information. I want to gather the change of address information ahead of time so it doesn't affect us once my fiancee is here and I'm at the new location. Please advise at your earliest convenience, and thanks in advance.
