Philippines	February interviews at US Embassy Manila	Yehey...more feb interviewees.... I had my pre-medical exams done today..xray,blood tests, etc, etc, (got a discount since i work in the clinical lab). I'm gonna be frequent in VJ starting today because it's my vacation week...yeheeey....got to work on my Interview packet...im having lots of butterflies and dragonflies in my stomach thinking about the the interview and the preparation of the documents...whew!!! I hope there will be someone from VJ who will have a PE / interview schedule same as mine. I want to meet a fellow VJ too. Can i join the party that u are planning ? Good luck to all of us who are waiting for our medical and interview appointments. Philippines	A new start	Hello VJ Family, I am here finally in Kansas City. I arrived 4days ago. IT was a tiresome and a memorable trip. It was my first international travel and I can say that it was a trip that i wont forget. Seems that always i have to wait in line ..always. I waited a long time in manila to check in in JAL only to know that i have an excess baggage of 6 kilos! they only allow 23 kilos x 2 if you have connecting flight. So In the middle of the airport (floor if u call it floor) i transferred some stuff to another bag to lessen the weight of the big luggage. I didnt have time to go back to the restaurant in manila airport to say goodbye to my mother because it was already boarding time. I did call her on the phone though and cried all the way to the plane. I was impressed when i saw Japan airport..i love how the cherry blossom grew along the roads. I dont understand the airline food though but i do enjoy their hot tea being served every few minute interval. American Airline served rice so i was relieved but was devastated when they only serve sugar coated bread in the morning...and it was COLD!!!! i was freezing....good thing the vietnamese seatmate didnt use his blanket so i had two:) The longest wait is at the US immigration at the CHICAGO AIRPORT....there was a loooooooooooooooooong line for the visitors and i almost fell asleep waiting for my turn. It also took a long time for the immigration officer to check and recheck my K1 packet (he was new..he always ask other officers what to do). He said he was impressed with the packet ..they got tabs on them, and nice pictures of us, he kept on giving comments on how wonderful the packet is....and asked me some stuff like how did i met my fiance, who message who first, when's the wedding, and he said goodluck. I then went to get my luggage to check them in for the connecting flight.....things went well except that when i entered the security to board to the next plane, my little bag was checked...EVERY content of it...lotions, gels, etc. I left my johnson's facial cleanser because they cant fit into the ziplock they provided.....they said they will throw it away. My laptop wasnt checked though. after i passed the security i looked for a telephone booth to call shaun..he was in chicago airport to meet me.....and chicago airport is BIG...he said he was in K2 lounge while i was in L4 lounge....i was too tired i almost cry. My tiredness and frustration ceased when i saw shaun walking towards me.....and we boarded the plane going to kansas city together...and when i went out of the Kansas Airport to his car...I WAS TREMBLING IN COLD.....FREEZING IN SUPERLATIVE FORM. Philippines	A new start	Hello VJ friends, I want to extend my heartfelt gratittude to everyone in this website for the infos, tips, ideas and encouragements, well-wishes, and prayers. Me and my fiance were really blessed by this website. After 1 long year of being apart from each other, We will be finally be together come april 4, 2008. Tomorow, my internet will be disconnected and i will go back home to Cotabato and spend a week with my family. THe next time i log in here in VJ will be on April. Philippines	all my bags are packed I'm ready to go	hello xhaxha, be sure to put all your liquids in a ziplock bag (i bought one from the grocery store). call your airline and inquire about the baggage weight limit. I didnt know that japan airlines with AA connecting flight is only 23 kilos. i thought all nternational is 32 kilos! i didnt pay for the excess baggage but the airport officer made me transfer some of my stuff in my other luggage...(quite embarrassing) in the middle MIA. You can pay too but it's like 200$ something like that. Dont forget to shop for native pasulubongs to your in-laws. i got mine from divisoria and quiapo. I brought feminine stuff with me from pinas, i even brought my fave books, pictures of families, Roaming SIMPAK, extra ballpen, hmm, what else...i didnt have extra money with me when i traveled. i was scared but i was fine though Good luck to you and have a pleasant trip.	shining_angel	Female	Philippines	2008-05-13 09:00:00

Philippines	Visa validity	My Visa is valid for 4 months...(from the date of issuance) I dont know why some are 6 months valid and some are only 4 and even 3. But you are so lucky to have the visa!!!time for dancing smileys why cant i find the dancing icon now??? Philippines	What is wrong with me?	Hello bubbly, i remember what my mom told me. There are men that are not very showy of their emotions, there are men who dont know how to make suyo, there are men who dont even say I love you or I am sorry. She also told me not to be too clingy (which sometimes i know i am). Try to make him miss you maybe it will help (maybe). I know he might find tampo very weird and he might not know how to handle it (shaun was kind of scared of tampo thing before). I remember getting mad at shaun because i waited for him to come online (i waited a looooooooong time). He later told me that he forgot about it and he didnt even care to say sorry. I told him that one "i am sorry" from him will make things alright..i told him what makes me tampo (like making me wait the whole day without any messages from him) he said he understand but he cannot send me message all the time because he is at work, and saying sorry is not his thing. I know we pinays like being suyo by our loved ones but it wont work all the time with the kano. SO we have to understand that too. Keep yourself busy while waiting for his messages, maybe he is just working hard for the two of you. I hope you two will have a good talk (dont hang up on the phone or FORCE him to say sorry. i dont think men will like being forced). You can always say sorry first Tell him why u are having tampo on him in a gentle way and listen to him too. But if he keeps on ignoring you maybe something is wrong. NO they didn't asked me to turn the laptop on, I brought with me some review materials in CD (kinopya lang), I also have some photocopies of music sheets but they didn't check it too. BUT...my big handbag was searched thoroughly...as in one by one - lotion, etc, etc, etc. I remember the lady in CFO told us not to bring polvoron because it's no longer allowed but i was able to bring polvoron. the lady who searched my hand bag didnt say anything about it i brought with me my own nail clippers and nipper - they all go in the check in luggage.	shining_angel	Female	Philippines	2008-05-23 08:50:00

He said it is better to mail it because the custom might "seize" it at the point of entry...Is that true? Has anyone here had a hard time at the POE because of bringing a laptop? Philippines	Chest x-ray film	In my case, the immigration officers didnt ask for my xray film. The lady in CFO told us to put the film in a tube (engineer's tube i dont know the exact term) a plastic tube where architects or engineers keep their tracing paper..roll the xray film and put it there.. dont fold it though as it will cause blotches on the film.
