I would DEFINITELY get a return ticket. I visited John about five times before we got married (via more than one POE) and I was asked to show my return ticket EVERY time.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPolyamory and K-1 visas

Matt,

I'm failing to see how the situation is fraud. They don't seem to be planning to marry solely for immigration benefits.

I agree. The OP wants to marry this man and live with him as her husband. There's no question on the application forms about agreeing to monogamy. Whether or not she has another boyfriend or if she intends to have one at some point is between her and her future husband. If they're both OK with it, then what's the problem? And she doesn't have to agree to be faithful in her wedding vows either, if she doesn't want to.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAirport took my documents
When I got to AOS I couldn't find my original NOA2 (no idea how that happened as I had thought I was being scrupulous about K1 record keeping). So I applied for a replacement NOA2 (and remember paying a large amount of money for it). They declined the petition for a copy as the approval was now out of date (well, yes of course it was as it's only valid for 6 months and it took 9 months for them to give me the visa). Anyway, I got no replacement and no refund of the money I sent.

So with my AOS application I sent the photocopy I had (thank God!) of the NOA2 and a copy of this documentation proving that I had tried to get a replacement of the original. I was never asked about it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGirlfriend has a multiple entry visa - can she visit and marry me instead of doing a k1?
Thanks again for your replies everyone, I will certainly go for a K1. I honestly had no idea of what I was asking. I didn't mean to say I deserve a shortcut when everyone else had to go through a long legal process. But now I know better, which is why I came here. I especially appreciate the kind and supportive responses MSU17, Longdistancelove.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGirlfriend has a multiple entry visa - can she visit and marry me instead of doing a k1?
Thanks for your input everyone. I didn't mean to cause any trouble here - I didn't realize that my post was an often seen and annoying question. Please forgive me as I am indeed ignorant of all this - which is why I came here, although I didn't expect the negativity from some, as I'm just a nice guy trying to figure things out, not make people mad. I should have read the Guides through, but I honestly never would have thought that marrying my girl while she visits would be considered fraud. And I'm not trying to be a jerk and bypass what you have to go through, John and Camie, and jundp. I was just asking if it could be done, not knowing it was a problem.

Actually, we were talking about doing the normal K1 route anyway, and it was my idea, not hers, to ask if we could just marry while she visits. Of course we had no intent to commit any fraud, I guess we just weren't aware of all the legalities. We didn't want to illegally sneak around any legal process, I was just wondering if there was a way to legally keep her here if she marries while visiting me. I see that she'd have to return to the Philippines anyway and it really wouldn't be much easier, and I agree a visit in person first is a good thing also, so we will just do the k1. And with any luck, our k1 process will go quicker like yours Blue Rose. Who knows? And while we are anxious, I understand it's worth the wait.

To Helloworld08, you said "How in the world can you be certain you want to marry this person without actually seen this person in real life... what if this person is really a fat hairy bald 50 years old 5ft guy that has nothing better to do then to mess with you?"

It is not possible for me to explain how we know we are right for each other in a way you'll understand, you can only trust me on that. Although I'm kinda surprised you didn't know you were going to marry your girl during all of your communications, until after you met in person. You really didn't know? Now, after reading all this, and continuing my research, I will just go and visit, and do the k1. And BTW, if she were actually a different person than her pictures, phone calls to me, emails, and forthcoming videos reveal, then I wouldn't marry her, plain and simple. But this also surprises me, that after getting your own girl from overseas you do the "what if she's a fat bald guy" thing that all the skeptics here in the states do who assume all overseas people are fake. Hey, if we all assumed these girls were not who they say they are, would we all be hopping on planes to go see them? Of course not. We see them because we believe them to be real after numerous communications. And just because a person is overseas and online doesn't mean they are faking who they are - afterall, I myself am overseas to her - and for all I know her friends are telling her I'm not who I appear to be! They could be saying I'm a fat lazy slob posting fake pictures, lol. I mean, really. We earn trust through contined and varied means of communication. You know that. So yes, I know she is who she says she is, and I know she's the one for me. Nobody else has to understand that in order for it to be true.

But that wasn't even the issue. I only meant to ask about marriage on a multiple entry visa, for which I got some good answers. I appreciate the information everyone. Looks like a k1 is the way to go - which is what I needed to know. Thanks again! good.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGirlfriend has a multiple entry visa - can she visit and marry me instead of doing a k1?
My girlfriend lives in the Philippines. While we have not yet visited in person, through our communications, we are both certain we wish to marry. Normally, I'd go visit her and then get her a fiance visa to come here and marry me. However, she already has a multiple entry visa she and her parents got to visit family in the states. In fact, she has been to Los Angeles before.

Now, since she has the visa to come visit here, could we skip the usual lost time and funds related to processing a fiance visa and just have her come visit on her multiple entry visa and marry me while she's here? Then could she stay? Could it be done that way? We'd hate to wait for me to go see her, only then to wait six more months for a fiance visa to go through, not to mention the costs of it all, plus a round trip ticket for me, etc., etc. I'd love to know that we could skip the usual drawn out process if possible! Thanks to anyone who has some answers.

Steve
