having no water is harder than no electricity.

No truer words have been spoken. That was the hardest part. All when it hot because there is no light and you want to take a bath fi cool down likkle bit. One time, when I was in high school, light went and of course water went right after. As you all may know, even when the light come back, it takes a few hours for water to come back. Well, my dad had a pump installed on our water tank to pump the water through the house. Well we went to bed and the light came back in the night. Bird brain me, did leave the tap open, so nothing more than all ah de water pump out of the tank and flood the top floor of the house. Mi fadda nearly kill mi!

How did this woman get my number? and she "marsh has a new baby on the way he will never love you how he loves me"
now, let it be known she is very loose. I do not think he has cheated on me. BUT..how did she get my number?? AND she made reference to something personal he and I did..how could she possibly know that?
Guys, I dont know what to do!

How do you KNOW he has almost no contact with her?
One possible explanation is that she went through his phone, but if he has no contact with her hmmm...

I would ask him. And listen VERY carefully to how he answers and what his 'theory' is....

Lord, help me! Literally. I dont KNOW. but I dont think he does. I will let you guys know.
Thanks for the prayers. I need them.

Adding my prayers to the list.....I hope there's a simple explanation....

Why is it so difficult to get a visa interview in Kingston? How many visa interviews are going on monthly? I have been in the Phillipines thread and they give out interviews a whole lot faster and more frequently than JA. The Phillipines is way bigger that Ja and is a high fraud country too. They even have an appointment website where you can look up your interview and medical appointment. Why does Ja have to make it so difficult? mad.gif mad.gif What is so special about them? protest6wz.gif protest6wz.gif protest6wz.gif

I see people here who have had their case completed 2 months ago and still have not gotten an interview date. Are they purposefully trying to torture people and keep loved ones apart? (sighs and exhales)diablo.gif diablo.gif I am so disgusted. protest: protest6wz.gif :protest

I fell off the podium. I am getting up and brushing myself off laughing.gif laughing.gif

My dear, they have not a care in the world. I was wondering why the H-E-double hockey sticks, they were closed for on Feb. 8th; Ash Wednesday was Feb. 6th!!! I just think that they don't care...the way how them so laid back at the embassy, mi jus waan slap dem into shape. We can only hope and pray that they get their act together or that we find an outlet to voice our complaints and concerns about what is going on in Kingston.

The other question I have is...Who are the employees there? Are they Jamaicans or Americans or a mixture of both. I had my K-1 interview way back in 1986, so that is a distant memory. It was so different waaay back then.

Claire

It's a mixture of both. When we had our interview, the first set of windows, Section A where you give in your documents were all Jamaicans. Section B, where Aaron did the fingerprint, it was a Hispanic man (more than likely a naturalized citizen) and then the consular officers (Section C) were American.

That is SOOOO true!! For someone to expect that he marry a certain type of woman, because he is an interracial child, raised by his White mom...just pissed me off!!

Michelle Obama is going to be on CNN tonight with Larry King at 9pm! I love her luv.gif ...talk about holding it down!!! I would love to see her as first lady!!! Their daughters are SOOOOO cute too! luv.gif

I have a lot of respect for her as well. I shall be watching her on CNN tonight. I read a piece they did on her is the Wall Street Journal this morning, she is such an intelligent woman and it was awesome to read that her advice to Barack carry more weight than the political veterans that he has around him. Marie, I have never used priceline, for that exact reason. I don't like surprises much, so I wouldn't want to be sitting for the last flight out on Air Ja, especially knowing how 99% of the time, they are delayed. I hope someone else who has had the experience can give you some guidance good.gif

offtopic45vn.gif So you all remember that a few weeks ago I posted the story from the Jamaican Star about the demon possession in Manchester; how about I am reading the Gleaner this morning that it happened at one of the girls' school in Kingston? I think it was St. Andrews High or Holy Childhood since they mentioned that it occurred there about 10 years ago and I remember hearing about some things that happened up there. WTH is going on in JA??!!! huh.gif

Yeah, Pittsburgh is COLD from Nov - Feb but the tradeoff is we're still only 3-4 hour drive to MD, Philly, D.C. etc. The median home price is around $90,000 which works out to a really affordable mortgage and then like J.G. said....you get a HUGE tax break when u own property.

When I first got outta Grad school in Philly, I came back to Pgh. in 2000 and lived in a bunch of different apartments. Even in Pgh. my rent used to still be around $700 for a small one bedroom and i got tired of only having "one" closet! laughing.gif Finally, I bought the house in 2004 for around 70,000 and even though that's pretty cheap....I still landed a detached house with all those amenities and a lot of land. The taxes are like $1100 a year and the last time i looked, the homeowner's might of been around $40 a month or something. I live about a 5 minute drive to work and i'm in a neighborhood that's close to center city, all the stadiums, the casino and all the restaurants etc.

I'll be the first to say, Pgh lacks in the diversity department with only a small west-indian population but because it is cheaper, it's easier to do more with your money and own a whole bunch of rental properies. That's the direction I'm going in so I can keep getting that big tax right off since I don't have any kids and i'm done with school.

I just shaved a good $7,000 off my income by being able to write off that house on my taxes laughing.gif I would love to live somewhere else that has more going on (Pgh population only about 500,000 people) but at my age (37) I'm more worried about how soon I can retire than I'm worried about living somewhere more expensive.

Come on over ladies, I'll show you guys around!!! smile.gif

Tonisha, I am ready to pack up the U-Haul and head to your neck of the woods; $1100 a year for property taxes are a dream here in South Florida. If you have lived in your house for the better part of 7 years here in Florida, you may still see your property taxes that cheap. And insurance for $40 a month luv.gif that would be heaven. Mi ready fi di move laughing.gif laughing.gif

I miss Mo Bay.
Kevin and I met at Doctor's Cave Beach. The Brewery is a party spot for the locals. Friday is the night to go to Pier I. Margaritaville is good on Thursday & Saturday. If you want to keep it low key, then go to Coral Cliffs and listen to some live music (2nd floor). offtopic45vn.gif Kevin got his Georgia driver's license today. It brek 'im hart fi leggo di Yardie license. I was also able to add hubby to my auto policy (only $6 increase for the next 6 months).

Wow...unnu really mek mi si seh mi is ah straight town pickney...Mi nuh knoa none ah di place dem unnu ah talk bout. When mi go ah Mobay, mi go ah Lilliput go look fi mi grandfather, Nankuh. I love the Pelican though because everytime we would go to Lucea to see my grandparents when I was a child, that's where we would always have breakfast every morning. My aunt works at Doctor's Cave Beach, though I have never visited there, go figure.

Kelia - why did Kevin have to give up him JA license? Is this something that GA does? Aaron didn't have to give his up at all.

fo real lol im abt to check pittsburgh jobs now im on rent.com now checking tx again cheapest decent apt is like 399 the cheapest new single family home i found brand new is 88,000. history maker homes i hear they are a good builder now im struggling! and doin overtime all over again as our bills are slightly higher since i cook more now smile.gif instead of eating out and we wash alot two tvs always going as i have to watch my tivo

Now all the Pittsburgh locals are going to wonder what the hell is happening with all the VJ Yardies moving in laughing.gif
I am so open to moving out of FL. I just want hubby to be a little more established, finish his degree and for me to get my certification and get the heck out of here. It too expensive, man mad.gif

What are the new home prices like in south florida? i just spoke to my girlfriend in tx and she just told me they have the highest property taxes! so i cant win can i. maybe ill just end up in the ATL maybe im gon pray on this but i did ask for a xfer at my job and they said no room at the inn so i have to wait till some folks leave we really want a tropical place trying to make a substitute for jamaica sad.gif florida or cali would be great but cali is higher than NJ

They run a full range; the median home price up to December 2007 was north of $200k. There are condos for sale that start at $180k for 1/1. Of course, we are starting to see an increase inventory of foreclosures. Shoot, I keep thinking that's the way Aaron and I are going to buy a house.

I concur....would most def buy a foreclosure...that is where u get the most for your money. call the local bank and ask them for their foreclosure list, that way, u can see what is there before it hits the market. there is a better word than foreclosure list. but for the life of me i can't remember the official name of the department.

Thanks Jengles...I will keep that in mind. Buying a foreclosure home for a bargain would work with the high taxes and insurance. I am just waiting to see what comes out of the property tax reforms that was voted on in Florida last week. I just want to see what is the solution for insurance, especially in hurricane-ravaged So. Fla. That's what I think has made it so difficult for much of us down here.

I couldn't move to cali, too far from the east cost, where the family is. People are talking about north florida, and the tampa area. anyone no something about the home prices there. I've been thinking about moving to queens, in nyc because i'm sick and tired of apartment living, I want a house with a backyard. I live on the top floor in my house, but with kids, u need somewhere for them to play.

Orlando wasn't too bad either. Our pastor from Jamaica now lives in Orlando and we went to visit him for Christmas. That man was giving us a tour of all the available homes in his neighbourhood. It was hilarious. But the homes were gorgeous. I haven't really looked at the prices there, but I have heard good things about surrounding areas.
