Tamieka,

The automatic voice system was updated to said....you case was completed on Jun 25th please allow 8 weeks from this date for further instruction. If it has been more than 8 weeks then press 2. I then called the NVC on Jun 26 and was told that all the interviews for July was gone and interviews for August would not start to be scheduled until the 2nd week of July. I am calling over there today. I just need to find some time.

Jenice
[/quote]

Thank you for the info, Jenice. I have been calling the automated voice system everyday, just to see if there is any additional information on the case. Hopefully, I will hear something soon.
I appreciate it and let us know what happened with your call to the NVC.

:crying: Hey Jenice ...Based on what you are saying they are scheduling interviews a month in advance. So from the looks of things I will be most likely in the September batch ...I pray that they will get as many people in for the summer as possible....Hang in there...Maybe things will go faster than you think

Thanks!! Well I was able to finally speak to a rep. Per the rep all the interiews for July for the Kingston embassy was scheduled the 2nd week in June so I will not be getting a July interview date :( . Interviews for August will start being schedule the 2nd week in July so I can call back by the 3rd week in July to see if David got an August date. I am still waiting on a response to my email to the NVC. I will also call the NVC at least once a week until I am given an interview date.

Guys let me know if anyone else get a interview date! Thanks!!

Jenice

Congratulations, Jenice!!! You have given the rest of us hope after having these changes  ! I am sending all the documents to the NVC tomorrow overnight...my husband just sent his police certificate to me this evening. Thanks for keeping us posted. We look forward to hearing further good news from you.
If it so happens that my husband and I get a date in August, that works well, since I planned on taking vacation in August anyway.

We can only hope that things will go that fast. Unfortunately, "red tape" will slow processes down  . I am not sure how long it takes for the response on the medical, which I can see as the only reason that the interview scheduling maybe more than 1 month in advance. Can't wait to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I hope you will hear something soon!

Guys.. :help: Is there anyone pursuing a IR1/CR1 and the NVC has scheduled your interview in the last couple of weeks; :help: can you please tell me how long it took from when the case was completed at the NVC before you got your interview date. Did you have to wait to get the letter before you knew the date? Was the automatic voice system ever updated with this status?
Monday will be exactly two weeks since the NVC completed my case and I have not heard anything :crying: :crying

Jenice

Jenice,

:help: When you found out the date that your case was completed, did you hear it on the automated voice response system or from a rep? I am still waiting to hear if our case was completed as I am hoping that it will get in the batch for interviews in August.
Thanks for all your help and I hope you hear something soon.

Thanks Jax but I'm looking for interviews that was schedule directly w/NVC. It doesn't necessary have to be thru Kingston. Anyone else?

Nyseness,

I am waiting on the NVC to scheduled my appointment under this new process. The NVC recieved the marriage lisence, birth certificate and police certificate on June 15, 2007. So I am praying my case is completed now and our interview will be scheduled shortly. But I also would love to hear from anyone that interview was scheduled by the NVC

USA-Jamaica: Please keep us posted. I am sending the package with the marriage license, birth and police certificates tomorrow, so they should get it on Monday. You will definitely be the one we're watching to see how long this new process will take.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC has not received Affidavidt of support

First post for me, but I've been reading the boards every day!

Anyway - We sent back the Affidavidt of Support along with $70 fee on June 4-2007 and they say they have NO record of receiving it. Do I give them more time to "find" it or do I send it again or what?

all very confusing

**** and yes, working on our timeline *****
patience please

The fee that you sent, have you been able to check if it has been cashed (money order/check)? Have they said they have not received the fee bill payment at all? I would send it again; while they received the payment for my fee bill, they told me they had not received my paperwork either, so I hard to re-send mine.

Guess what guys,
I called the NVC today from work and talked to another operator. I asked her why we did not get an interview date and she says that we already have one scheduled for September 6th @8 am. What the !@$&% is going on in the NVC? This proves my point that these people are a bunch of idiots.
I am very thankful that we did get the interview scheduled but September 6th is less than 3 weeks away. It takes at least 3 weeks for my husband to recieve mail from the US, sometimes more. Does anyone know if you can go to the interview without the appointment letter?
Opening another can of worms here......

BTW, congrats to you Diana and JA Tam on your interviews as well! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!

OMG, from what I have heard with our own interview, you will need the interview letter to schedule the medical and to get into the embassy for the interview. I hope you get the letter soon! Check to see if your husband can go to the embassy to pick up Packet 4 which will have all the information you will need.

Congratulations my dear!!!  I am happy for you, while frantic in the mean time, hoping you'll get your letter soon.

The process used to be that the NVC completed the case, sent it to the embassy and the embassy would then schedule the interviews. Now they complete the case, they schedule the interviews and then send the case to the embassy. The process changed for Colombia in April and Tamieka said they changed it for Jamaica in June.

Where did you find this information? I would like to know if the Helsinki embassy (in Finland) still schedules its own interviews, since the Helsinki embassy has a reputation of being extra quick. After all this frustrating waiting, I really don't want to wait a week longer if I don't have too :(...

If you use the following link http://travel.state..../info_3734.html you will be able to see which consulates are scheduled by the NVC, following the changes. Good luck.

Thanks JA_TAM. I just looked at your time line and I feel really bad for complaining since you have waited one year since you filed your petition.
I'm just so annoyed at the thought of them giving us false information, building our hopes up and then knocking us down again without so much as an explanation or apology. What kind of information have they been giving you? The operator I talked to today told me that the interviews for September have already been scheduled for everyone. That all scheduling has been completed. I hope that she is wrong, there's always a good chance that she is considering that 95% of their staff have no idea of what they're talking about.

I totally understand the frustrations. I have been there many times and have been forced to learn patience  . I feel bad having to tell you that I have been scheduled for a September interview and up to this point, they had been telling me that they were still scheduling the interviews.
I think it is irresponsible that they told you the file had been sent to the embassy, only to hear now that they still have it at the NVC. Right before they completed our case, they switched their policies and began holding on to our files until after the interviews had been scheduled in Jamaica. This is probably what happened with the Moroccan embassy and so I am keeping my fingers crossed that you will be scheduled soon.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I was told that our case was sent to the Consulate in Morocco on August 1st by an operator @ NVC. She said that we would receive information soon about our interview in the mail. All along I'm assuming that the Consulate in Casablanca will be scheduling our inteview. Two days later, I head off to Morocco all smiles thinking that maybe he would hear something about our interview during my 12 day visit. I returned two days ago bummed out that we had not heard anything and found a few posts here on VJ about NVC scheduling interviews for certain consulates. I called the NVC and after waiting 10 minutes on the phone a very rude man proceeded to tell me that no our case was never forwarded to the Consulate and that the NVC is in the process of scheduling interviews this week. He told me to call back towards the end of the week and we should have a date. Mind you I'm still ticked that I was given misinformation about the case being forwarded to the Consulate already the first of the month. But I'm thinking okay I will call back and hopefully we will go ahead and have our date scheduled.
I just got off the phone with the NVC, and a woman who does not speak good english just told me that all the interviews have already been scheduled for the month of September and "sorry" but I will have to call back mid September to find out if we will have a date for October. #######?? I am so freaking mad. I can't believe that they have such idiots working there who give out false information in the first place and then turn around and screw us out of an interview.
Our case was completed July 16th. How in the heck did they already schedule all the interviews for the month of September?
Aaaaaaarghhhhhhhhh I needed to vent.

I feel your pain. Our case was completed on July 13th and I am waiting to see if we have been scheduled for an interview in September. I am sorry that you are having to experience this, but know that there are a lot of people in the same boat.

They had asked me before and I had asked them the purpose of it. They said that they are trying a new feature and coming out with using the email notification, just like USCIS website, for updates regarding the case.

The funny thing too is, on top of their actual "What's your case#, beneficiary name and birthdate and agent's phone number" questions, I have been asked to verify the email address twice already.

That's cool! tongue_ss.gif

Email notifications will free up their phone lines from people like me who called constantly until we were assigned our interview date.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)does the auto respond system say the NVC sheduled an interveiw ?
When questions were raised in reference to the date I received for the interview (since they are usually on Tues and Thurs), I called the Dept. of State and they didn't have it in their system, though NVC gave me the date. The only thing the DOS rep was able to tell me was that my file was electronically sent to the USE in Kingston. They (DOS) weren't able to tell me the date until after the Embassy had entered it into their system. Just wanted to put that out there.

Hi eveybody.
I'm just wondering after the case is completed and the auto respond system says ''case completed'' does it update after they shedul the interveiw or it just stays like that and I have to call and talk to an operator to know the date ??

Congratulations on your case being completed. The system will not automatically update to say that an interview date has been scheduled for your case. Interview dates will not be entered on to the cases until all the dates have been scheduled, so even at this point an operator will not be able to tell you the date. Give it another week or so for them to complete the scheduling and an operator should be able to tell you if you have been assigned a date.
When the case is forwarded to the embassy, the system will tell you to direct any further questions on your case to the embassy.
Good luck and I hope you are assigned an interview date. good.gif

Great, I am so happy to hear that. I must warn u, it seems to be taking them at least 2 weeks to get to the emails, so hopefully the last one you sent will do the trick. Yeah, the tickets are really expensive in December, especially the week before Christmas. Last year, I was lucky, I think I got a ticket from Florida for about $300+ for the 23rd. I hope so too; that would be really nice yes.gif . Jenice and I were in the first batch of NVC interview scheduling. It took almost 2 months from the date her case was completed and approximately a month from my case being completed for us to be scheduled for interviews.

As soon as your hubby can get that form sent again, it would be great. Also, have him fill out the DS-230 and sign a couple of page 2 because it needs his original signature; when I sent my husband's originally, they misplaced it and we had to send it again. It was a hassle waiting for him to send it to me again.

Have him send it with the police certificates. He can get the police certificate in 3 days or 21 days; 3 days costs J$2000 and they will give him 2 copies. You will only need to send 1; keep the other for the interview. You will be in our prayers and I can't wait to hear all about your journey.

Good luck good.gif If you haven't already, come and check out the Yardie thread (as Jenice indicated).

Hey Tonya, I'm sure Jenice will respond to you, but I just wanted to put my 2 cents in. Hey Tarik,

Congratulations on getting your interview date. Your SO will also get a copy of the interview letter. Is there anyway that it can be scanned and emailed to you, so you can print it? When we got our interview date, it was right after a hurricane hit Jamaica and I wasn't sure my hubby would get his mail in time so that he could do the medical. I scanned the letter that was sent to me and emailed it to him so that he could present it at the medical.
Also, if you are close to the embassy, maybe you would be able to get a copy from them. Just a thought.

Hey Tash, Congratulations on getting the good news. My dad's case was entered into the NVC system on New Year's Eve; it took 5 days from the date I was told it was approved to receive the physical NOA2. Don't worry about the NOA2, your hubby won't need it at the interview. It's nice to have the receipt, but now that it is at the NVC, I think receiving it or not is not a big deal.
