Claire honey, don't worry; it's holiday time, so things may be slowing up in snail mail. Just tell Mike to get the police certificate done (can't understand why these men must drag their feet mad.gif, they know what we are up against in Jamaica), so that it can be sent off as soon as you get the check list letter.
I am not sure if your question on checking if the MO was cashed is still valid, but if you still have the stub that has the 800 number for the MO company and the actual MO number, you should be able to get info on whether it was cashed.

I am keeping you in much prayer my dear. smile.gif

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHave any experience with filing for jamaican spouse?
Hey studioface...I am not sure what to tell you. I filed for my hubby while he stayed in Jamaica and though my case took over 1 year, a few others on the yardie thread got through within 9 months going the CR1/IR1 route. Some of our K3 applicants have had some issues with getting an interview date at the embassy in Kingston.
Though I would advise that you not use an attorney, because much of this you can do for yourself and not have to pay a king's ransom, it may not hurt having a consultation with one. There are also a few agencies in Florida that will assist in filing the immigration paperwork for free.
Come check out the yardie thread (regional discussion - Latin America and Caribbean) and you can also post your question there to see if anyone has had the same situation as you; they may be able to advise you accordingly. I have heard that it is in some sense illegal to enter on a NIV with the intention of immigrating later, as you have entered under false pretenses. Others have done it and it has worked for them without an issue, but you run the risk that they could turn you back at immigration when you POE on your visitor's visa and they believe that you may not return to JA.
I wish you the best. good.gif

Guys, I called USCIS today for the first time and did the RFE trick to talk to an Immigration Officer. I wrote earlier about what he told me (that I wouldn't hear anything until after the first of the next year). So I was feeling pretty down and bracing myself for the wait, but then I opened my email this evening and I had a message from CRIS notifying me that the I-130 had been approved today and the notice mailed!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif No word on the I-129F, though it did get touched today.

I'm not sure what happened or how it happened. I know the Officer was super nice when talking to me today and really helpful and we chatted for a while. If he's to thank, I thank him. If it's another officer there, I thank them. I definitely thank all of you for your help and info, and the biggest thanks to God!!!! good.gif good.gif

My husband and I are SO happy!!! At least one piece of this journey is done with and we can now keep going forward. I pray for speedy approvals for everyone still waiting. Please, keep the faith. good.gif

Congratulations!!! kicking.gif

Congratulations on receiving packet 3 kicking.gif . You can get the shots before your medical if you wish to. Depending on what you may require for shots, it could be a series of shots that you may need. My hubby got a few and is required to get follow up shots here in the US.
Best of luck in everything! good.gif

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGoing to the embassy interview with my wife, is it possible?
QUOTE (seanconneryii @ Dec 9 2007, 12:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I think the USCIS rule is no spouse at interview. You can accompany her to the embassy of course, but not into the interview area.
This is different than for the fiancee visa interview where the petitioner is welcome.

It depends on the embassy. Some embassies, like Kingston, encourage the spouse to attend the interview; they are very happy to see that the spouse took the time to travel for it. I was there with my husband and I was interviewed in the process.

If I were you, I would go in the regional forums and ask the question of those who are going through your wife's country to see if it is acceptable. good.gif
I wish you all the best on the rest of your journey!

The only thing that I can think of is that they moved your petition to the Vermont Service Center...FYI: the 3 letters before your receipt number mean:

WAC - CSC
LIN - NSC
SRC - TSC
EAC - VSC

I am sure someone else will clarify for you, but this may be the reason.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionExpired forms on London Embassy website???

Packet 3 directs to forms on the London Embassy website at
http://london.usemba.../visaforms.html

Looking through the required forms I noticed that most of them seem to be expired. Specifically, DS-230-I Part I (expires 5/31/04), DS-157 (7/31/05), and DS-156K (05/31/04). Is this a problem if I submit these? Why would the embassy use expired forms?

I am not sure why the forms have not been updated on the embassy's website. You can use this link to get it from the US State Department: http://www.state.gov/m/a/dir/forms/
All the forms that you have listed are there in pdf form.
Good luck.

The system is referring to you NVC case number. If you have your receipt number from USCIS when they originally approved the I-129F, you can call the NVC automated line.
NVC: 603-334-0700; press 1, 1, 1: At the third menu, listen for the first 3 letters of your receipt number (EAC, WAC etc.), then it will prompt you for the numbers. Once you confirm your receipt number, the system will give you the case number, BKK######.
I hope that helps. good.gif

Hello guys, I am so nervous and just needed some support...my fiance` interview is Wednesday and I am so sick. Guys I just pray that everything goes okay and that we will be together finally. I guess the reason why I am so nervous is there are hardly anyone from my country that experienced the process of K-1 visas....I am just asking for everyone's prayers and support, thanks!

I'm sure everything will be alright. You're in my thoughts and prayers and I look forward to hearing the good news on Wednesday good.gif

That was a question I asked the CO who interviewed us and she said POE in Fort Lauderdale will be no problem. Just be prepared that it could be some time since lately depending on the time your flight arrives it is taking at least 45 minutes to get through immigration and the final processing takes a little while dry.gif

fwaguy, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this link. I printed it and kept in handy in our documents for our interview today. The Consular Officer was telling my fiancee that everything looked good aside from the Police record from Ecuador. The documents (passports et al) were about to be handed back to my fiancee signifying a not approved decision pending this document.

Thank God she managed to convince the consular officer to take a look at our print out and that CHANGED everything. He read the print out and gave out a smile and said "You came prepared, huh". Then he approved our VISA!

Thanks so much!!!!

That depends on the country you are dealing with. Many embassies don't allow it. Some do, and even encourage it.

I'd suggest contacting the appropriate embassy and asking them.

And please fill out your information (visa type, country, etc) so that VisaJourney users can better help you.

Good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAsk the Embassy. Your Top Questions will be answered by an actual Consulate Officer
Great topic!! good.gif

Question: How can I get our original documents back? The letter in packet #4 I received from NVC stated that we would get them back at time of interview. At the interview the consular officer advised that we would get them back at POE. She was not allowed to give them to us as she had to send the complete package for POE. At POE the immigration officer said we had to fill out a form and send to the National Records Center to get our documents back. Just a complete run around. Can you point us in the right direction?

Thank you.
