Congratulations on your marriage and honeymoon! biggrin.gif
My hubby and I were in Savannah this weekend visiting friends and it was terribly chilly laughing.gif . We did the carriage tour on Saturday and Savannah was beautiful. The boat show was beautiful! We would move there if it weren't the most haunted city in the US (according to our tour guide).
I wish you all the best! good.gif

CanadaAllien Registeration number
QUOTE (Glady @ Dec 9 2007, 07:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Ok i have a CR1 Visa but not the Green Card yet and i'm wondering where i could find my A#. The is an 8 digit number titled registeration number and i'm wondering if that is it. there is another 8 digit number in red with no heading and that is what's got me confused. Any suggestions?
/

The registration number is your A#. I had a similar question on my husband's IR1 and the Welcome letter confirmed what I had heard. good.gif You will want to put A0 before the registration number to have the complete A#.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTraveling with Green Card and no Passport

My husband is Canadian and he has his green card. He has lost his Canadian passport and is in the process of getting a new one. He, I and our 1 yr old child are traveling to Canada in 3 weeks and his passport has not yet arrived.

Has anyone traveled to Canada without the passport and only the greencard?

Thank-you in advance.

I have done it in the past with no problems, but not since the new passport rules.

hey guys,
i m writing to this link, cause i know u ve been through this already....
when u traveling with green card and on your way back to usa do u still have to fill the form i94 they give in the airplains
or any other form
thanks

When you have a greencard, you no longer have to fill out the I-94. You will only need to fill out the customs and immigration form (the blue form they hand out). Hope this helps good.gif

If you have gone thru NVC as an appointment post, how were you made aware of your interview dates? Were you sent an e-mail, or did you have to call the NVC or DOS, or did you wait to receive the appointment letter. Just checking what to expect in terms of finding out about the interview scheduling. I know, I know NVC schedules interview during the second week of the current month for the next month's interview. I am only intererested in finding out how anyone know about the interview appointment. Does the agent also get a copy of the interview appointment letter mailed to them.

A couple of times when I have called the NVC, I was asked for an e-mail address. What is that used for? Are you at anytime contacted via e-mail by the NVC or embassy with first initiating one?

(To this day Mike has not received any of the correspondence that I (agent) have been getting from NVC since his date became current in July 2007, and now his case is completed.) ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

Am I rambling? Anyway, your responses to my questions would be greatly appreciated?

Thanks

Claire luv.gif luv.gif

Claire hon, can I tell you - I am mad happy for you that the case is finally complete kicking.gif

I called NVC on the day that they finished scheduling the interviews and heard that we had our interview date. Within a few days the automated system was updated with the information. The DOS didn't have the interview information in their system until the Embassy in Kingston had put it into their system.

I got the interview letter within a week of hearing that Aaron was scheduled; he got a copy of the letter as did our Choice of Agent (we had a lawyer). You should get a copy of Mike's letter, Mike should get one and so will his dad. If he doesn't get the letter, he can use yours or his dad's to get into the embassy.

I can't wait to hear that Mike's date has been scheduled!! Nuff love mi dear luv.gif

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Is this NVC case no. ?
Both you (the beneficiary) and your fiance (the petitioner) will receive a copy of the Choice of Agent form (DS-3032). You can send an email to the NVC when the form has been generated. Good luck to both of you!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!! I love to hear when our fellow CR1s are being scheduled.

I'm on hold with the NVC as I type to see if we got scheduled. I have a feeling we didn't get one for September though. <_<

Diana

I am praying that you get some good news. I checked to see how the automated message changes, so this could probably help you if you don't get scheduled for September. The message now says: "Your case is now complete and has been forwarded to the embassy in ....on August 16th". If you hear this message then there is a likely chance you got your interview. I was also told that they do not enter your interview date into the system until ALL the interview dates for all embassies have been scheduled.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your Diana.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC - Changes for Jamaican applicants???

I just went to the Department of State website, looked under Kingston and it has been updated (if it wasn't before). This is the list of documents you need to send to the NVC along with the DS-230.

Document Requirements
The applicant and each family member who will accompany the applicant to the United States will need to obtain the following original documents or certified copies of the documents listed in this section from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity).

Birth Certificate
Court and Prison Records
Deportation Documentation
Marriage Certificate
Marriage Termination Documentation
Military Records
Photocopy of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page
Police Certificate(s)
All documents that pertain to the applicant’s petition are required, even if they were previously submitted to the CIS with the applicant’s petition.

Don't feel bad, I also called them this morning to find out about our interview date and got the same thing. Interviews are scheduled by the NVC the second week of each month for the following month. So if we aren't scheduled by Friday, we're going to have to wait until the second week of September to have an October interview. The guy I spoke with was definitely reading some kind of script when I talked to him. It was very annoying.

Diana

Thanks Diana; we got the updated information on the documents that are needed by the NVC to complete the processing. It's just that we are now in the dark on the timeframe for the interviews to be scheduled. I plan on calling this afternoon (being the squeaky wheel :) ) through Friday, until we are finally supplied with the date for the interview. I hope you are assigned an interview date soon, I will keep you in my prayers.

So Tam...Did you call? I am dying to know if you got a September interview....

Hey Milan...yes, I called yesterday and still no date. They are still scheduling the September interviews and the young lady I spoke with advised that it should be completed by the end of this week. I will continue to call for the remainder of the week until I hear we have an interview or scheduling has been completed. :) . I'm keeping the faith :star:

Tamieka,

I can honestly said i know how you feel today :crying: :crying: . I call the NVC this morning and got the same spill. I really believe they we will both get interview dates this week. I think the NVC rep already know this but try to mange call volume by refusing to give any type of status until a certian date. Every conversation I have had with the NVC, the rep has given me the most outrageous timeframe of calling back. Last week I was told to call back at the end of the month. Hanging in there. I am calling back on Thursday. You are in my prayers. You are certianly a glass half full girl :D . I can tell from ll of your positive responses. We are almost there.  It just this one last things. God hears our prayers!!

Jenice

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the both of us   and praying fervently for you to get your date soon!

You are so far now.....the end is actually in sight for you. Think of all those just starting!

Thank your lucky stars today. That is my advice....focus on the positive.

I do know, though. There were some days I was wishing the days away cause tomorrow HAD to be better.

Funniest thing is just recently I told someone, "It's always darkest before the dawn". I know the time is coming and I know that I am usually the most down in the dumps right before the breakthrough. Usually I am "...the glass is half-full..." sort of girl, but there are days we're in the valley.
Thanks for the encouragement and believe me, my prayers are going up for those who have just started the journey or are preparing to start the journey soon.

Hey Tam....I am keeping my fingers crossed that when you call tomorrow morning they will tell you you have a September interview...
That would be AWESOME!

I called on my way home yesterday and just called again about an hour ago and they told me that we still don't have an interview date  . They are still scheduling the September interviews and the young lady I spoke to, told me to call at the end of the week which is when she believes the scheduling will be done.
I would have to say, I am having one of those low days today :crying: :crying: . The process is taking too long; I feel like we are constantly pushing back our timeline and now I am wondering if we are even going to be together this year :crying: :crying:
Thanks, I need some positive person with me on this...

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC - Changes for Jamaican applicants???

Hello All,

I am so grateful that this forum is available. Currently my husband's case is at the NVC and a representative has just advised me that they are requesting that we send the DS 230 part II, orig. marriage and birth certificate and police records to the NVC. On the site, it says that all this information should be gathered for the interview.
Has anyone heard that the NVC is now scheduling the interview for the US Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica? Apparently the rules have recently changed. I am just worried about how much longer I have to be away from my husbanc.

Thank you for all your help. :help:

The process has changed. I submitted the DS 230 and it was place on hold until the additional info, marriage license, birth certificate and police certificate, is sent to the NVC. Based on the info I was given at the NVC, once this info is received the interview will be scheduled at the NVC for the Kingston Embassy. I also questioned the rep as to why the info on the website has not been update to reflect these new changes. The rep provided me with a number I could call in Washington, DC to make a complaint. In additional I email my concerns to the NVC but got the response that the process has change and in order for my file to move I would need to provide the additional info.

I overnight this info to the NVC on yesterday. The file was put on hold on June 2 so I lost about 7 business days with this new change. I will let you know how long it takes to get my interview scheduled with this new process.

Thanks for the information. I think I will make a complaint because this will delay our case. The good thing is that the NVC seems to be moving pretty quickly, the only thing is how long it will take to get an interview.

Thank you all for the information. Actually it seems that they have made the changes. Here is the link for the information: http://travel.state..../info_3196.html. Apparently they recently made the changes and now they are requesting that all the documents that we would take to the interview, now be sent to them.

Nyseness - I would propose you let your hubby know to start collecting all this information so that by the time they send you the RFE, you are prepared to send it back. From the Ministry of National Security website, you can get the police certificate same day, in 3 days or 21 days. I have told my husband to start working on it so that he can send it to me. Everything else that they want, I already have with me.

Thank you all for your help. I will keep you posted as to our progress :)

Thank you all so much for the responses. I called the NVC again this afternoon and they told me that they are requesting the DS230 Part II, my husband's birth certificate, our marriage certificate (both originals, not copies) and the police records. The lady told me that they will forward it to Kingston when the interview date is scheduled. (I am not sure how "new" this is).

Nyseness: I am sorry, I am not sure how to do the timeline, I have only been here for 24 hours  . I am assuming we will get the letter from NVC next week. We are at the point of waiting for them to forward the information to the embassy and now with this "new" request, I am not sure how much longer it will be. I just want to get to the interview and finally have him here.

If I hear anything more about these changes, I will be sure to post.
