I agree with CVB's answer and R&W is completely correct. I am a naturalized US citizen, but I have very strong emotional ties to the land of my birth, Jamaica. I am happy that at least I could represent the people in Local, State or National politics, but do agree with a natural born citizen running this country. So at least my children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews have an opportunity to be President one day.

AWESOME!! Congrats Danny! Can't wait to hear when you will be taking your oath.

Canuck - I totally understand the frustration. Hubby did his fingerprints on Oct. 15th, so 1 day after you did. Well today he got an email today from USCIS that the case has been transferred to the local office. So we are at the Testing & Interview stage. I'm pretty excited to see that it's moving along. Hopefully, for those of us still waiting, we'll get our interview letters in December! :thumbs:

Wow, Bob. Don't play well in the sandbox, do you. Seems like it's your way or the highway. Honestly, the chart is not that serious. Ok, there have been mistakes and errors, but an error in the chart is not going to slow down the process for you. The error was pointed out and we move on. No need to get worked up over it and write inflammatory messages. This thread is not just for you.

Hi guys,

So after having done my fingerprints almost 6 weeks ago (I went on the 4th of October instead of the 14th) AND after checking my online status almost everyday.... 3 times a day... I finally got a yellow letter stating they needed me to bring a driver's or state - issued photo ID to my interview. The letter was dated November 12th and I received it today on the 17th.

My online status has not changed from RFE to Testing yet so I just wanted to let you all know.... in case you're doing the same thing as me.... maybe they have already moved your file along without updating your online status.

Can anyone offer their thoughts on the following:

I sent in my application on Sept 3, the check was cashed and the NOA was dated Sept 21. However, I have just checked the Status Update and see the following:

Initial Review

On November 4, 2010, we received this N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.


Since I already included fingerprint cards, I will not be getting a biometrics appointment, so any ideas on a likely interview date based on my timeline? How long is the average period between Initial Review and Testing & Interview?

It varies; no one can really give you a range on when you should expect that you will move to the next step. My hubby did his fingerprints 4 weeks ago and we're still waiting to see his case moved to the Testing & Interview stage. We just have to be patient and hope that everything starts rolling in January. I'm sure things are moving a bit slower as we enter the holiday season. Good luck.

It's good to know that the interview letters are starting to roll in :thumbs: . I started resigning myself to the fact that hubby's interview would probably be scheduled in January and take the oath early in the year, which would still be in the processing time.
I'm relieved to see that we're still in a good general wait time for hubby's case to be transferred to the local office and for our status to change from RFE.

hhn400 - that makes sense. Just our luck having to file so late in the year. Sorry to hear that your wife had to re-do her fingerprints, but at least we know that everything is ok now.

OMG! are you serious? Now I cannot wait for tomorrow to come, lol. I really hope so. Did you do your biometrics on the day they set for you, or you went in early? I went in early for my ROC biometrics, and plan on doing the same for citizenship... Girl I hardly have any patience... I am so anxious.. and with that you would think I would have applied in June when I was eligible.... Arrgghhhhh

LOL...yeah, we did it on the day we were scheduled for. Wish we knew about going in early; I totally would have had hubby do that. I am on pins and needles waiting to see what happens. I'll probably be checking the status online to see if anything was updated...LOL.

Hi Ja Tam, I am following your timeline to gauge my own. We are using the same field office. I sent my N400 application on 10/5 and received my NOA today, dated 10/12. Good luck on your journey!

Somebody please update for my information. I could not align dates I dont know why when they are aligned, but turning out bad when I hit submit. Anyway, I receive the interview letter on 10/08/10. The interview date will be on 11/15/10.

Quite honestly, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't apply now. You meet the requirements for citizenship and from your prior thread, even the IO recommended you applying right away. Hopefully it will be an easier journey for your citizenship. Blessings on you!

A standard letter and when my hubby did his interview at Oakland Park it took about 45 minutes before he was called in for the interview. The actual interview was 10-15 minutes. Here is a link to our Interview experience. Up to the time we went, there was no same-day oath, but I hope and pray that you don't have to wait as long as we did for the oath ceremony -- it took about 2 months from the interview to oath. I've heard of others who didn't have to wait as long.

CanadaPhysically Ill after talking to the RCMP
I know that I am not going through Montreal for my IR1/CR1 case, but recently the NVC has made changes to visa processing. I went to this site:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3176.html -- if you do a search for the Montreal location, it will tell you all the documents the NVC requires to complete the case. I am sure you also got this in the letter they sent you. I had to send my husband's police certificate along with other original documents to the NVC before they completed our case for our interview to scheduled (which we are still waiting to have scheduled). They seem to require this for Montreal as well.
I hope you get the documents you need soon, so that they can complete the case. Good luck :thumbs:

My hubby and I were in Savannah this weekend visiting friends and it was terribly chilly laughing.gif . We did the carriage tour on Saturday and Savannah was beautiful. The boat show was beautiful! We would move there if it weren't the most haunted city in the US (according to our tour guide).
