Hi, I'm a newbie to this thread.
I interviewed (N400) on February 1 @ Oakland Park field office and have yet to receive an oath letter.
Checked Bonnerbonner (oath taken) and I know your husband is waiting for oath letter too.
I have an infopass appt on March 1 and will update with any new info.

By the way, wondering has anyone interviewed in February and has already received oath letters. Thanks!

Is "deschedule" a USCIS's term? Or maybe reschedule?

And then without a date? That's a bummer. Sorry to hear that.

Apparently it is their special term. No new date so far. Got some information that there was some mix-up with oath ceremony dates and they cancelled oath ceremonies for March 2nd and 9th. Hopefully we get the new date soon - I have my fingers crossed that the new date is in the mail this week. :thumbs:

My spouse had the interview also on the 6th; we were probably both in the same hall at the same time! She did real good at the interview and did ask to have her oath ceremony asap. She did...21 days later. :)

Thanks Jetson. An IO told me on Monday that they're backed up and that's why hubby hasn't received his oath letter, while a friend who interviewed the week after him at Oakland Park has her oath letter for next week. It's a little puzzling trying to figure out why they do things the way they do. He says we should start to worry if he hasn't gotten his oath letter within 3 months of interviewing. So I guess we have to wait until April to make a stink :angry: :(

Had my 8:30 interview today at the Orlando office. Got there at 8. Was called in at 8:20.The interviewer was very professional. I had made a mistake on my application which I told him from the start. I had checked NO to each of the questions concerning if I support the US! I had walked with a corrected copy but he said no worries, we can just change it on the original. He swore me in that I was going to tell the truth. He asked if I took any trips since applying. i had and gave him the dates. Then the test began.
Questions were
1. Who becomes president if president no longer able to serve.
2. Four amendments regarding voting. What are they?
3. During the cold war, what was the main concern of the US.
4. What is one right from the the First Amendment.
5. Who is in charge of the executive branch?
6. What is one reason the colonists came to America?

The oral part was ..What state has the most people. Then I had to write California has the most people.

After that, he went line by line through the application to verify the information. He then gave me two forms to sign verifying my personal info and said congratulations. He advised me to wait for the Oath appointment letter in the waiting area and that was it. Friday it will all be over!

Thanks to all for the information posted on this website. It was extremely helpful through the whole process. It was reassuring to know there are other people obsessing just as much as you are over every detail hahaha.

Name change delays varies from office to office. My experience here in FL at the Oakland Park office: from interview date to oath ceremony date, including name change.....21days!

Jetson, when did you interview? My hubby did his interview at the Oakland Park office and we are still waiting on the oath ceremony date. He interviewed Jan 6th.

Lace - hopefully someone who interviewed at your Local CIS office can give you an idea. It varies office by office. As you can see, my hubby interviewed earlier this month and we are still waiting on the oath letter. Others have interviewed since he has and have been sworn in already. It looks like you are in the same office as hhN400 and he just indicated that there are same day oaths, so your wife shouldn't have to wait long. :thumbs:

Sweet!!!! Got some movement at last. So how long does it usually take to get this email to the time you get the interview date? Reason I ask is because my wife and I are planning a trip to visit her native Cambodia on March 3rd. We still have her Cambodian passport she can travel with but prefer to use the US Passport instead. The grandparents wants to see our baby.

well i just had my interview this morning and i passed it. it took about almost an hour before they called my name. silly me missed 1 question that even a 5th grader can answer!! lol! anyway, io is pretty nice and it only took about 10 mins for the whole thing. the questions that were asked are the ff:

who is the supreme court justice?

every how many years do we elect a rep?

which month do we vote for president?

name a war fought by the US in the 1900's

what does the judicial branch do?

how many reps do we have?

who is the father of our country?

got milk?

i missed the 2nd question unfortunately (i answered 6 years and i didnt know where the hell it came from!).. then she had me read and write a sentence.. after more yadda yaddas, she finally congratulated me and handed me a letter that i passed the interview and she said i should wait for about a couple of weeks for the oath taking. parking is $10 and its about a block away from the Federal building.. it was a good experience and you just really have to be confident. Good luck to you and i hope we get the same oath date which is feb 16 i believe.

Hey Kim - I hope you get your interview letter soon. So sorry that you still cannot get a definitive answer about your interview. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and saying a little prayer for you too. It's a nice day in South Florida, but the temps are expected to drop a bit today. I love Weston!

Ok, here is hubby's interview experience:

So hubby just completed his N400 interview at the Oakland Park, FL office. The interview was scheduled for 10:15am and we arrived at 9:40. We said a word of prayer in the parking lot before heading inside. We were checked in and seated by 9:45 and waited for his name to be called. By 10:22, he was called by IO Hernandez. He was in for 10 minutes. He told me he was asked to give my name and how long we had been married and whether we had children.

The questions that were asked:
1. Who is the commander-in-chief of the military?
2. Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?
3. Name 3 of the original 13 states
4. Name 1 state that borders Mexico
5. What are the 2 major political parties in the US?
6. What is the political party of the President now?

She said he should receive the oath ceremony letter within 30 days, but no longer than 180 days.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Hope you all had a pleasant holiday season and a nice break from dealing with USCIS. Now we are back to the grind of waiting and waiting for news. I have to admit, I am totally fed up after being so excited on Dec 3rd to learn that my file had transferred to the local office, I have not heard anything more.

So much for 319b, I started the process in June, my attorney finally filed on Sept 3rd and here we are Jan 3rd and still no interview letter. I thought the idea was 319b sped up the process, but many of you are further forward or even complete and I am still waiting. Even many of the October and November filers are ahead of me :wacko:

I will be so glad to get this thing finished. This waiting is killing me, mainly due to the fact I have three young kids who have been waiting for a vacation/visit to the US since the summer. Please, please keep your fingers crossed the letter comes in time for us to travel over Chinese New Year (Feb 2)?

For those of you with interviews in the coming days, good luck and best wishes. I know you will be so glad to put this all behind you and start a USCIS-free 2011.

Kim, so sorry that you are being frustrated with the process. It feels horrible to be in limbo. Is the 319(b) the military citizenship application? If so, have you tried calling the military line? (Sorry, I don't remember if you have been through this already or not). If you don't hear something in a few more weeks, I think it's time to escalate to the Tier 2 supervisor and to contact a congress person for assistance. You are stationed overseas, but you very much have rights to find out what's going on!
I pray that you get some clarification soon.

Well, in my wife's case, there's simply nothing to update. But we're not really surprised; the Washington Office is known to be notoriously slow. We don't expect to hear anything until mid-January, or even later. (And we're not complaining because we had timed it that way so the interview wouldn't interfere with my wife's travel plans. So far, it seems to work out the way we expected it.)

Ok, I'm happy it's working out the way you wished to. I'm sure you'll get a January interview. God's willing, everyone will be sworn in by February! Have a great day, everyone.

new123 - That's been a long time, but I think all you can do is wait to either hear from them or reach the 90 day mark. I have been reading that a few people have gotten Tier 2 supervisors to get some answers. I guess that's a route you could take. Also, a few people have called and verified with the FBI number that the name check was completed. The number is 304-625-5590. What field office are you expecting to have an interview?
