I was told by NVC that the applicants would get a copy of the Medical in a sealed envelope to take to the embassy.

Thanks milan. Did they tell you this when you called recently?

Never mind, I just checked my interview letter and in the reminders section, they state that we should bring his medical exam results to the interview in an envelope sealed by the medical office.

I knew I read it somewhere biggrin.gif

and I finally got through to Dr. Banbury's office and no-one is picking up. Guess I'll have to call back tomorrow. he'll results will prolly not be at the embassy in time.

I wanted to check this out, but it looks like they get a copy of the medical in a sealed envelope to take with them to the interview. That was the impression I got from reading the website the NVC letter directed me to.

really... I haven't heard anyone of VJ say that. but maybe this is how it's working now. I'll ask the new interviewees to see what they did. If that's how it is I'll feel a lot better.

I did hear some mention of the xrays but not the medical report itself...hmm

If it is, which I am hoping, then that should lessen the possibility that people are given the blue sheet to return if the medical doesn't get there in time. It remains to be seen.

no I didn't curse him out. I have no energy for that. Plus it never solved anything in the past nor will it solve anything now. I spoke to my ma who just did this conference on getting along with people and she told me to not be antagonistic. She said he obviously knows he messed up and arguing about it will only make both of you angry. I was like ma I need to tell him about himself. She said no just leave it alone and dont call him to argue. So I didnt bother to call him back at all. Of course that 24gz messed up the plans for giving me the money to buy my ticket.

everything is so frikkin last minute with him. I can't stand it!

I am pretty good at holding my tongue, but there are times that I have to get off on Aaron. Hopefully he has learned his lesson and in the future you won't have to hound him to get it done.

I didn't tell yall but of course even after I have been asking Mr. Man about his immunization card from last year...on Friday he couldn't find it and went to his family doctor. They said he had to pay $24,000 for all of the shots he needed blink.gif

I was very disappointed to say the least but I didn't argue with him because he knows I was right as usual. Firstly if he hadn;t waited until the last minute he could have shopped around for places that did the vaccinations for cheap and secondly he could have gotten them one by one over the course of the last year.

What kind of man is this I'm going to share my life with? I'm so discouraged, I mean how is he going to be responsible for other things helpsmilie.gif

I know he's young and all but sh!t man how could he be telling me for over a year that he his mother has his card put up and NOT make sure until the day before his medical. And I need not remind you that he scheduled that last minute (for yesterday) and we don't know when he's going to get that done under the circumstances.

I guess my plan for letting him deal with it alone and stop talking to him back-fired. But I was just hoping he would prove me wrong.

OMG...My dear, I hoep you cursed him out! I am so mad with you mad.gif . Hopefully he will get himself in shape now that he realized he messed up and since he has a wife he has to be more responsible than that.
But that is highway robbery...$24000, I can't believe that! I have been trying to tell Aaron to see if he can get the shots done elsewhere, but thankfully he has his immunization card, so he shouldn't have to get too many. Hang in there Empress.

milan....still no news sad.gif but if something bad had happened I would know by now. I have a huge fam so I'm not that worried.

Playing devil's advocate - they are probably getting the systems back up and running today at the US embassy. As long as they are opened tomorrow, that would be good. I doubt they still plan on being closed on Aug 27th since there is no election, so hopefully all those who didn't have their interviews yesterday can get rescheduled then.
Any news on when your hubby can reschedule his medical? I am hoping that Aaron can try to call this week for an appointment.

I even tried calling my Grandmother and some cousins, but it's all the same thing. I cried myself to sleep last night b/c I can only imagine how my daughter must be feeling. We live in Chicago and she has no idea what a hurricane is all about. I cld Javon's sister in Kingston and was able to get thru but the phone lines are still down in Mandeville. I can barely work!!

Oh Anna, this is double hard for you. I hope you hear from Javon and your daughter pretty soon. Oh honey, I am praying with you. There are a number of places with phone lines down.

Just got word about my grandparents, they are fine. Their phone line went down, but a neighbour told my dad that he went by and checked on them and they are doing ok. He's going to tell them to come down to his shop and call my dad from there.

Hopefully Javon is able to find a neighbour with a working phone and give you a call.

Yeah, my hubby is thinking that they're phone line may be down. I am going to see if Daddy has any contact number for people who live close to them to see if they can see if they are okay. He'll probably go down there with my uncle.
Well the worst has passed and we are a resilient people, so I am sure we're going to hear that Jamica it's okay. I have heard a few roads are impassable, with downed trees and poles. I am sure that much of it will be cleared by later this week and things will go on. Hey Milan, I am just happy that we have finally had the first batch go through this new process so that you and Anna know what to expect in the coming months.
Yes, I plan to go to the interview; I already sent in my time off request for that day :D . I also plan on going back to travel up with him when he is ready to move here (and I am telling him no later than October 13th; school starts Oct. 20th). Empress, you know me and the tears :crying: ...I am having a tearful day today....I actually sent back the AOS last week vis overnight mail and they got that paperwork, Last Tuesday.....Anyway, once my honey is here he wont be going back to Jamaica as soon as he comes to tie any lose ends...All those ends will be tied once we get an interview date. So now all I am waiting for is the DS230 so that I can overnight that back and finally be done with the mailing side of things.

WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT THEM TEARS? LOL

anyway the CR1 is a better visa, he'll get his green card within weeks after his arrival. He could also just come up and go right back down to tie things up in Jamaica. And then come back up in a few weeks when he has the actual green card. That way he can start working right away.

Now that you've paid the fees, in a month or less they'll send you the AOS and DS-230. And since you already have everything together and will send them back the next day, they won't take longer than a month to complete it.

I bet that they will be done with your case in 2 months from now- around the beginning/middle of october. And then they'll assign an interview date. Even if the K3 gets approved during that time. I doubt it will get an interview date before your CR1.

Milan - I feel you on that one. He better tie up all those loose ends before he gets here   . I have been offline for a little while, so I am trying to catch up. Had a root canal this weekend and now I am in so much pain I don't know what to do with myself :crying: :crying: . Went back to the dentist and got Vicodin for the pain until it eases.
Anyway, I hope you start getting that paperwork rolling in.

Empress - I am keeping my fingers crossed that we hear that a date has been assigned. I will be sure to keep you all posted and you're right - this has become the Yardie IR1/CR1 thread

Hey Anna,

That's a valid point and in the back of my mind I have been wondering if we will hear later that our date has been rescheduled. My husband is going to call the embassy to verify and I have also sent them an email. To all my VJ family who haved achieved success on their SO's interview and for those who have upcoming interview dates, I wish you all the best that life has to offer and that the rest of your journey be smooth and filled with joy. Patience is a virtue and you have all shown much patience during the process you have gone through. Always remember that GOD never gives us more than we can bear. The struggles that you all have endured is now paying off and when you are reunited with your loved ones, you will look back at the journey and wonder how it was that you endured to the end. We will all look back and laugh at how frizzled we were when we couldn't get an answer from the USCIS or NVC; how disappointed we were when we checked case status and nothing changed. Now te trial is coming to an end and we will have that everlasting smile on our faces. Happy that this stage of the journey is over and our new lives are really starting. Remember that life is a compromise and that every relationship requires a lot of very hard work. Nothing beats a trial but a failure and we should all give it our very best at all times.

Good Luck all. Sorry for the long rant, but I am filled with joy for you all.

:ot: So Dean is now officially a Cat 1 hurricane (almost Cat 2) and current path takes it right over JA. They are now predicting it could get up to Cat 4 by Tuesday, which I think could be the day it will be closest to Jamaica.
Keeping all our loved ones in prayer... :(

Wow !!..yeah I hope it dies down. Keeping everyone in my prayers

I definitely don't want it going to Jamaica and I don't want it coming to South Florida, since we got battered a few years back. Especially since it's packing such a punch...Lawd help wi.
