Charity….I am glad you got in so quickly!! And I am sure you’ll hear good things because that is your anniversary too! A good omen. In other news, you were in my dream last night. It was weird. You worked at my old college and I remember being so baffled that I had never seen you when I went to school there. VJ is creeping into my unconscious thoughts!! Ha, ha.

Benita…glad to hear you and baby are doing well. Hope the next appt goes just as smoothly.

I am thinking of changing careers. I know that sounds crazy but I think I need a bit more action. Sure this paralegal/interpreter stuff is fun at times but there is such a routine that at times I feel like a robot. I am thinking nursing. However Miguel keeps saying, if you become a nurse remember to be nice to the patients. I was like what?! And then I remember that I am at times “brava” and rather sarcastic. So I said, well I’ll just save that for YOU when I get home. Ha, ha. I go on Thurs to an info session and on Friday to meet with an advisor. It might just be a crazy idea right now but perhaps it’ll turn into something. Nothing like when things calm down I gotta put stress and financial uncertainty back into our lives. Ha, ha.

Sorry to hear that Miss Liss. The appeal process is over. But your life with Javier doesn't have to be. I wish you much luck in the coming days to find the strength to figure out a plan B.
take care.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend!!

Charity, you know you are in our thoughts. Good luck on Monday. Hopefully the doc says it is just stress and nothing else.

My husband keeps joking that the stork that'll bring our kid keeps getting lost. I am glad he can keep humor in all of this cuz sometimes it is hard.

take care all!!

HOLA CHICAS!!

Hope all are doing well. It was absolutely beautiful this weekend so we got out and enjoyed it. Amazing what a little Seratonin will do for the brain (I think it is Seratonin, right?).

We've been spending a lot of time with our friends who just got back from Mexico. Their baby is so cute, with fat chubby cheeks. Ha, ha. Can't wait for our day to come, though all in due stride.

hope you all have a good week!!

Elvia…I think you should become a financial advisor.

Hope you are all doing well. I am out of here in 15 minutes and couldn’t be happier. It has been a very loooooong day.

See ya later.

That is what I understand of it too, Bonnie. There is no jumping in front of the line. I look at it as Miguel and I HAD an avenue to adjust his status…so many people don’t. I hope this bill passes for those people that have no other option to become legal. That is my opinion.

Hola chicas!!

Hope you all had a good weekend. We went to the MN Twins / NY Yankees baseball game on Saturday night and had an awesome time. We didn’t even argue about the game (he is a long time Yankees fan having lived in Brooklyn 6 yrs). So we are making progress. Ha, ha. Yesterday I stayed in my pjs and didn’t leave the house until 7pm. I don’t even know what I did. Miguel went fishing in the Mississippi River with some friends. They caught like 10 fish but you don’t eat the fish from the Mississippi….or you might grow an extra arm. Man, that river is polluted, especially the area in the city.

Benita…glad to hear everything is good with Emily and #2. You’ll have to share Emily’s photos with us when you get them. She is such a cutie.

Charity…Way to go on the money stuff! Didn’t all the immigration stuff set you back?! It is hard to get back on track, I think we’ll be done paying off our credit cards by July. That is our goal (o.k., more MY goal since Miguel doesn’t do much with finances besides hand his check over). I hope we can make it cuz that is about the time we want to buy a house and it’d be nice to not have to pay for cards when we have a mortgage. The plan looks nice on paper, but we’ll see how easy it is to execute.

Ashley…how are you doing girl?! Hope all is well with you and Tacho.

Elvia…que onda chica?! Hope you had a good weekend. What did you guys end up doing yesterday?

Melissa…hope the new job is going well.

Hope all is well with everyone. IT IS FRIDAY and supposed to be 80 degrees here today!! Yup, yup I am one happy camper. I am wearing flip flops right now and my little toes are so happy.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

hola chicas!

hope you all are doing well. I do not watch Peregrina so I am super LOST with who is who. But I have been hooked on novelas in the past. They are pretty good and FAST paced. None of this 75 yr run like US soaps.

A friend of mine has his second interview today in CDJ and he and his wife and baby girl are coming home!! They haven't been in the US since June. Their baby was born in Mexico while they were waiting out the waiver. I wish I could have waited with my man in Mexico but no use looking in the past. I probably would have gone crazy there but it is always nice to pretend everything would have been perfect!

Things are going pretty good here for us. Getting ready for spring and baseball (yes, my house is all about baseball). We are also planning a trip to NYC in July....ahhhh, it'll smell real nice in the middle of summer  to see the family and for his cousin's daughter's baptisim.

I just want the warm weather to last forever. It was in the 70's yesterday. I almost forgot what it felt like to be warm outside!

See ya'll later.

(Benita, hope you are feeling better and the ickies have gone away)

It has been kinda crazy for me these past few days! But spring is here so I am much happier. Yesterday we went to the rally in St. Paul, MN. The newspaper estimates 30,000 people. Isn’t that awesome! It was very exciting to see all the energy. Let’s hope the politicians notice it too.

Hope everyone has a good week.

I bet you will need some kind of tangible proof of the five year residency requirement. Who knows what that may be but I just can’t see politicians agreeing to take somebody’s word on how long they have been here even though they expect us to take their word all the time……………………..

Oh that is a much bigger place but I understand about not wanting Emily downstairs yet especially when you get big going up and down when she cries. Making that space into a nursery is a good idea. Can you do those kind of changes? We are still looking to buy hopefully soon, probably around July or August. Having the biggest room (ours of course) on the same floor as at least one other will be a big selling point for me. Have you and Alex thought of any names yet? C’mon you gotta tell us!

p.s. what do you think all the "touches" mean on your stuff? Does it mean they are looking at it or that it'll be approved soon? just curious.

I am with ya on the “why can’t life be easy” track. It is definitely full of roller coasters. I’d like it to have a few merry-go-rounds right now. Something easy, soothing and able to eat an ice cream cone on.

Hi Elvia…haven’t been up to much. Same old but just a different day.

Hang in there girl and take that much needed break. We’ll be here when you get back.

VietnamQuestions - HCMC K1 to AOS Interview
We submitted our AOS in April and we are still waiting for an approval. Thao got a temporary 1 year green card stamp in her passport in June because they couldn't tell us why we didn't receive a NOA. After going through for the visa process twice,2 1/2 years, and 11 moths for the 2 year green card, I am not surprised to see a long delay for the AOS. SNAFU!

USCIS Service Centerscsc mailing address
I am trying to find the mailing address where my case is sitting at CSC. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can get that? All I know so far is that HCMC sent our case to NVC and NVC sent it to California where it is waiting to be reviewed. I asked my congressman rep and she said she didn't know.

USCIS Service CentersHey Gang READ THIS!! USCIS Update 6/18/07
Blue Surf,
Have your Congressman or senator contact the service center. Ask them to request the status of your case. Have them specifically ask if your case is expired or request a chance to rebut the consulate's decision. It took 3 months for CSC to tell me that my case was expired when the consulate returned it and I may file a new one.

good luck!

CaribbeanRE: Questions for my fellow Jamaican filers
O.K., I am far from this step, however I am always one step of things. I would like to know what if my husband doesn't have a Taxpayer Registration number? What will he need in place of that. It states that when applying for the Police Certificate he will need the following:

Valid Passport-Check
Taxpayer Registration number---- What do we do now :help: :help: :help: :help: :help:
Two passport photos-Check
Receipt of payment from any tax office-Check

If anyone that is currently or has filed for their Jamaican spouse please help if you know the answer.

Thanks,
Nattie

Sorry to hear that!! However, you are blessed that your other half is able to come here to the US for a visit. I know, that I would be ok with my long wait!! Especially, if I knew my husband was coming for a visit.....

Never heard of any of this before (not disputing that it's not true). Only heard that the tax offices across the island have been offering such services to help minimize the huge turnouts at the passport offices.

I have never heard of this service either? I know that my husband went to the tax office in Sav for his. Not sure if I would use any service that I am not 100% familiar with.

I wonder if there is anything going on in Jamaica that isn't involving a scam these days. So sad of yet another one.. I would hope that the average person would know that no JA Gov't office are open on week-ends (at least you would hope for that)....

it is not a threat it is clear that most of you never know who you are speaking with on here. Take me for example you dont know what my connections are with immigration and I will not expose it either. Life

It is clear we know there is people on here that will review this board from immigration HELLO)!! However, your aggressive demeanor is a little much for someone asking a question under your post.. It is understandable, yet a little too much.. Telling someone "You dont even know what I do for a living so becareful because it may affect your case in the long run". is very inappropriate (especially if you are someone undercover for immigration)

Why wait till someone else starts a thread for your own answer of a completely different toppic why not start your own call it what yuo want. Just because one person answered was not enough, I was looking for more additiional information but because you dont know what I was looking for in addition you should remain annonymous. Unless you know the facts behind the question you cannot speak. I will never go into specifics about the reason for a question to be asked. I dont know everyone personally y would I be so stupid. You dont know who from immigration and USCIS are out here looking at questions peoples personal situations etc. And just to let you know it is being monitored by them because I know certain people that work in the offices. So be smarter than what you are. You dont even know what I do for a living so becareful because it may affect your case in the long run. :-)

What details could you possible need when asking a yes or no question? Since you have the authority to to make a threat about someone's case you should know if they would be open on the week-end or not. No Gov't operation in JA is open on a week-end..

Im seeing where they say you pay for the service at the tax office and then take the receipt along with passport and passport photos to locations that does finger printing. one is in Mobay...its call summit station on Sunset Blvd (the road to the airport). Do finger print there and then he has to go kingston to pick it up. thats my understanding
