Asia: East and Pacific	Blue slip additional interpretation request	HQMP, Sorry to see you received a Blue slip. We received the same one. I wrote up a time-line on how we met and had it Authorized by the Minnesota Secretary of Sate. In my timeline I tried to explain how much we are in love and how we want to spend the rest of our lives together. I also included more evidence of our relatioship. I could not travel to Vietnam to submit it to the consulate myself so Thao did. They spent about 10 minutes looking it over before they denied us. I wish I could have been there to fight the blue slip!!! You have to do your best to convince them you are legit. The best way to do this, if at all possible, is to be there yourself. The next best way would be to request help from M.E or both. This my thoughts to you from what I went through personally and what I have seen here on VJ. I believe chances of beating a blue slip are slim by just sending them a timeline and more evidence. Being there helps a lot. Good luck to you in whatever you decide to do! I wish you the best! Asia: East and Pacific	Noa2	We were finally approved after 137 days. As my signature details, we were denied a year ago at HCMC. I filed a new petition with an IMBRA waiver that M.E. wrote for me. He was preparing our documents for an appeal of the denied petition when we found out it was expired and wouldn't be adjudicated. So M.E. wrote up an IMBRA waiver instead. Asia: East and Pacific	K1 Visa-NOID	Our case was sent back in December. I never received any NOID. In May, an email sent to my congressman from CSC stated my petition had expired and they won't look at it and I may file a new one. You should prepare all your evidence like Kevin did, in case you get a chance to appeal. Asia: East and Pacific	Finally some activity	Hey Kevin, As you know I had to file a new petition. I went with the K1 visa again since we are not married. Our new case has made it to the consulate and is now waiting for the Chief Immigration Officer to review it. They say this is the normal process for reaffirmed cases and people that filed a new petition after the first one was denied. He must decide if he will allow our petition to continue or if it should be sent back to USCIS. I included in our new petition an email from CSC saying our case was expired and I may file a new one. It may be a sticking point for people who refile without some sort of conclusion with the first petition. I will keep you posted on our progress. Good Luck! Merry Christmas! Asia: East and Pacific	Thi called HCMC Consulate about Packet 3	Peter and Thi, I just called HCMC the other day and went through the automated system. I reached the woman working there and she seemed rather polite and I got the feeling she was concerned if I received enough information from her. She didn't appear to be in a hurry. I called to find out the status of our case and she told me the Chief Immigration officer is reviewing our case before sending out packet 3 or shipping it back to USCIS. I guess that's the SOP when cases are reaffirmed or a new one is filed. The most recent pink slips here have had a 2 week waiting period to pick up the visa after the interview. Asia: East and Pacific	How many people have sent money to Vietnam?	I send money for Thao's cell phone and English classes thru Western Union. I used be able to do it on-line, which made it easy, but due to fraud issues, I now have to go to the bank and use the western union phone they have there. Average around $100 a month. Asia: East and Pacific	Package 3 return !!!	According to the consulate,(I don't believe them) ours was mailed out Jan 22. I tried to convince my fiancee to send the forms in herself and not wait. She insisted on waiting for the packet to come in the mail. It never did, so now she will go to the consulate and hopefully they will give her the packet and she can return it the same day. Asia: East and Pacific	Still waiting for Packet 3	Our petition arrived at HCMC in November and our case has been put on hold until the Chief Immigration Officer reviews it. I guess he needs to decide whether USCIS was correct in telling me that the our original petition, which was denied by the consulate and sent back, was truly expired and I can file a new one. He may allow our new petition to continue or he may send it back to USCIS and tell them to adjudicate the original one. The chief had been on vacation for most of December. I would like to know if Thao can go to the consulate and pick up packet 3 while we are waiting for the chief to review our case? Do you think they will give her the paket in this case?
