Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMoving after filing ROC
Hi,

My husband and I are getting ready to file for ROC for me. We have been living at the same address before my AOS but we have plans to move in the next few months. If we file I-751 with our current address, can we just submit the change of address form before we move? Would that introduce a risk with USCIS not getting the address change in time and with us not getting some of the notices from USCIS?

Thanks!

Yep, the USCIS number is your A#.

On the old style cards it says A#, but now its labeled USCIS number. I think its their mission to confuse us.

I agree ;)... Thanks for your response.

Your A# is on your green card. Don't forget to include a photocopy of the card with your package!

I think your evidence looks great. :)

Thanks a lot for your quick reply. So the USCIS# is what I enter for the A#?

And yes, I did include the GC front and back copy. Thanks again!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionIs Alien # needed
Hi all,

We're planning on sending our ROC package tomorrow and I wanted to double check regarding the Alien registration #. I don't think I have an alien # but just wanted to double check in case I'm missing anything.

Also, here are the contents of our package. Does the evidence look sufficient?

1. Bank and CD statements from about 5 joint accounts.
2. End of year summary for joint credit card.
3. Certificate of rent from our landlord showing co-habitation.
4. Home loan estimate
5. 2010 joint tax return IRS transcript. 2011 - not yet filed.
6. Copy of 401K statements from employer showing same address.
7. Last two utility bills. The company somehow didn't have previous statements online so I got a copy of online account showing both on the account, and bill payment summary dating back to 2010 showing that we've had the same connection since the beginning.
8. Joint Gym membership
9. Copy of itineraries from trips taken
10. Copy of my in-laws' 2011 Christmas card and few more pictures.

We tried to focus on quality rather than quantity. So I would really appreciate if you guys could confirm if this looks good enough. Thanks in advance.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAR-11 SR form

I thought it's the last time you enter the US. I chose the entry port that I entered in 2010 to input in AR-11 instead of the one in 2009.

That was my understanding as well, which is why I entered my last US entry date. Did you run into any issues after you submitted the AR-11?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAR-11 SR form
I'm about to file this form for my change of address, and I had a question around the sections for port of entry and date of entry into US. The last time I was out of country, I returned back to US on 10/2011 and Chicago was my port of entry. I just wanted to know if I'm supposed to enter the info based on the last time I entered US? I just wasn't sure if this section was more suitable for people who've just come to US instead of people like me who've lived in US for a couple of years now. Thanks!

US Citizenship General DiscussionN-400 Rejection Notice
I did just notice I didn't put "US" in front of Department of Homeland Security on the Check Grrr.. But they didn't mention a problem with the check. I think I'll reprint the N400 and put a new check and try again. I don't want to say they made a mistake even if they did cause well thats not a good start heh. Hopefully a different agent will get this application. I'll let you know how that goes.

US Citizenship General DiscussionN-400 Rejection Notice
I sent out this Naturalization application a few weeks ago and got it back with the rejection notice saying:

The applicaton/petition you sent us is missing some pages. you can download a complete form from our website, or...

you have failed to make any selection in Part 2, Information about your eligibility on your application.

Please review and mark the appropriate block in part 2...
----
*Well upon reviewing my application I see clearly part 2 is marked with an X in the correct spot. I've looked through everything 10 times and there is no missing pages and I have all clear evidence and supporting documents. Any ideas? Is it possible it's something else and they just don't say it? Or possible they mixed me up with another application? I'm concidering just mailing back the application as is and see if they will take it.

Thanks for your time and opinions,

Nick

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussiontravelling out of country after filing
I'm in the same boat as you was just going to ask the same question of what the average time is from sending in the application to getting a biometric date. Hopefully not needing an interview.

Hi all, back on VJ after 2 years. I am in a weird situation when my wife's I-751 filing date is due eligible from 15th January but we will be flying out on Feb 3rd for a month out of country. By seeing the BImetrics average timeline looks to be 30days. This means if i file by 15th than we would get a mail for appointment around mid to late february which we will probably miss. I read somewhere people trying to do walk in after there biometrics appointment has passed but within 90 days timeline, some were lucky to get fingerprinting done. But some were having hardtime getting 2nd appointment. Does it worth the risk or should i have this mailed around the time we leave on Feb 3rd and hope to get the biometrics app around the time we get back which is March 6th. Or is there any other better alternative that some1 knows about or gone through. Thanks for answers and good luck to everyone.

As of today 5/21/2013, my wife informed me that two investigators came to her house, my wife was not home at the time.  While they were waiting, they looked everywhere inside the house.

Once my wife got home, they asked her to sit down and started to ask questions, all questions are the same they asked my wife at the interview in the Consulate office.

I know that it is a good sign that they start up my my (CR1).  Anyone that went through this process, please give me some advice.

After the investigators met with your spouse, How long before they inform you that the visa issue or refuse?  Appreciate your time.

PhilippinesManila Embassy Interview/Visa Status
Just letting everyone know Mae and I made it back to the US together - POE Minneapolis. I'm not sure if accompanying her made a difference but there were no problems. We sailed through Philippines emigration and after the excruciating long flight (I can't sleep on planes) we also flew through immigration in Minneapolis. FYI, there is a special line for immigrants that was much shorter than the tourist lines. The officer was very polite looked over the sealed packet, told us the visa was valid until November 2nd, and didn't ask any questions. It took maybe 5 minutes.

I much appreciate all the help from people on the board. Hard to believe she is finally here. Mae seems to be adjusting well. She is getting me organized, lol. There's a lot to be done there.

PhilippinesManila Embassy Interview/Visa Status
We had good news that the visa is released and on it's way! This is about a week after Mae turned in the missing CENOMAR. Delbros is saying delivery in the next 2 days.

We're both very happy since this means she'll be able to return with me on the 4th.

Just an update for anyone who happens to be paying attention, lol. Mae got her CENOMAR and apparently there was a problem with her NBI (misspelling) and turned them in. The only information she received was to "go home and wait for the visa". I guess we are in the rest of the AR boat and it could come later rather than sooner.

I wasn't able to get through to the Immigrant Visa unit, but I assume they won't be able to tell me much but the party line. I have us booked on a flight August 4th in 4 weeks (I'm coming to visit and hope to go back together). I would guess this is overly optimistic and I'll have to rebook her (again). Anyone have any words of encouragement? discouragement? Sigh.

Gringitalokita: Glad to hear everything is going well for you thus far!! CONGRATS on the baby news too! How exciting!! :D

Well we were stuck in Juarez over the weekend too and bored out of our minds. It was also 108 outside so there wasn't many places we wanted to go besides being huddled over the AC at the Holiday Inn. We went to the mall a few times but that gets old fast. We contemplated going to a movie but didn't do that either. So we mainly hung out in the room watching tv or drinking beers out by the pool (though no beer for you for a while  ). We didn't go out anywhere farther than a few blocks, not because of fear but more because I was pretty sure we would melt.

When again is his actual interview? On Monday? When are you planning on returning? Take care!! ;)

Mzswing: My husband had a prior arrest record for disorderly conduct. It was when he was a minor but we still brought the certified court records with us to the interview. They asked some questions about it and were pleased we brought the records...otherwise you might get delayed so they can order them. It didn't seem to affect our case much. His arrest happened more than 5 yrs prior to the interview and he was a minor. I think since your husband's happened more than 10 yrs ago and he wasn't drunk then it should be o.k. But I'd take the records you have in case they want to look at them. But I am no lawyer so I really don't know, what I wrote is just what we did and it seemed to work out...... (the waiver we had to file wasn't because of the arrest, it was because he entered and stayed in the US illegally).
good luck and DON'T STRESS!! ;)

We checked the box also on the DS-230 but decided to go into the local office anyway since we'd been waiting on immigration about 3 years already. I was not too optimistic that they would get it done. Good thing we went in too, because they hadn't ordered one. So we got our card due to us going in to the office.

I'd say definetely be proactive on this one. Otherwise you might be waiting forever. Hope his card comes soon, Mel.

Amanda...I wish you much luck calling DHS next week. I am sure you will be hearing soon on your waiver and soon your husband will be making his way home. I think I read somewhere that DHS asked for more information. When did they send this request and when did you return it? When you call, you might want to make sure they have received it and placed it with your file.

Keep us posted.

STEVEY....I hope all went well this week at the medical and interview and be sure to let us know how it all went.

Take care.

WHOOO HOOOOOOO JBEABOUT!!!!

Glad to hear everything worked out so well for you and Sofia! I agree Juarez isn't that bad but it's nice we don't ever have to go back too!! The taxis can be a rip-off. My advice for all those needing to use taxis in Juarez, negotiate the price before you even get in the car.

Looks like Junari is next!! Are you filing a fiancee or spouse visa?

So Jbe...hope you are still in Mexico celebrating because it is so #$%%^ cold here this weekend in MN.

Take care all!! ;)

MUCHA SUERTE STEVEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let us know how it all went!!

Be safe.

CONGRATS TABTA!!!  Good luck on getting settled in the USA!

Jbeabout: Good luck in Juarez...I am sure everything will go awesome. And then the party in Mazatlan, right?! She'll arrive in Minnesota in summer than?! Smart not to scare her off with her arriving in winter at first... SUERTE!!

Stevey..you too, good luck at your interview that you'll be going to soon.

Mel..We got our 10 yr green card because we have been married more than 2 years so I don't know about removing conditions but regarding the SS card, we checked that box on the DS-230 too but I wasn't too optimistic it would get done (a couple of people in the waiver forum that checked this box as well never got their card and they had to go in). So we went into the office and applied and they said he was already in the system (not sure if it is from the box checking or becasue INS got their #$% together for once and entered the information on time) but his card came a few days later. We have only gotten one card and it has almost been 4 weeks since he arrived so I have to think it is from applying. My point is don't wait too long before going to the local office because you might get forgotten.

take care!

When do you have to start filing AOS? Do you have to wait a certain amount of time or can you start now? I am curious about that.

Yeah it is awesome they are home now isn’t it!

Good luck Tabta.

P.S. update that timeline girl to show APPROVED!

Tabta..my husband went to the clinic right next door to the consulate (there is one across the street as well) and yes, they did give him change.

Hope Mel's interview went o.k.

Tabta...We paid cash (dollars) at the medical clinic and our credit card at the consulate.

David...the I-129-f totally moves faster to approval than the I-130 (unless you go through Vermont Service Center, which seems to be pretty quick). Which one you go with depends on how you'd like to enter the country. One you have to adjust status once you enter (I-129) and the other you "adjust" through the NVC and already have an immigrant visa once you enter (I-130). Of course, if you go with the I-129, you'll be in the country much faster.

Jbeabout: Have you gone to the interview yet? I was just looking at your timeline and wondered if you had gone yet.
