Pinay travel agent in Portland. She has been helpful and seems considerate about immigration matters. I recently asked her permission to post reference on VJ. Maybe she can help book your rt and your fiancee's one-way to coincide? Anyways, Darlene is cool.

hello! Does anyone know if it is true that USEM does not allow co-sponsors for K1 applications?

It surely be a great help! Thanks!

If the sponsor can't afford to take care of a wife by needing a co-sponsor he should not be allowed to petition anyone...

Yep and there has been "talk" of knocking out co sponsors for all immigration visas in the near future.
We have way more than enough people on welfare already. No need to import more! headbonk.gif

Shiela,

We wish you an enjoyable flight. Yes - take some dollars for your layover. The airline is no problem and there's ample entertainment while enroute. Just watch a movie or two and enjoy. Have fun and congrats to you and your new family in America.

PhilippinesSt Lukes MED EXAM - DONE IN ENOUGH TIME BEFORE USEM INTERVIEW?
Same interview date, Nov 12. USEM is closed on Nov 11th (fact) so the sugestion to request documents to hand-carry from St Luke's to USEM makes good sense (somewhat informed). We decided to go for medical on 5th and 6th, instead of 9th and 10th because of the closure, just in case the 2 day medical turns into more and to allow for a margin for document delivery (pure speculation). Best Wishes.

When to buy tickets - that I can not advise but I think your plan to have a big family holiday in the US is a good one. Christmas in the USA can be very nice! Just wait to get your tickets maybe. We are trying for a flight to USA 13 days from interview. Fingers crossed - but as of now passport has not been sent. Interview on 12th - nothing on 17th. Air 21 says it is still at USEM... blush.gif Best Wishes and Happy Holidays!

QUOTE (Chris and Aes @ Nov 16 2009, 08:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everyone!

My fiancee is a Pinay! I believe there are a lot of Pinays here who could best help us, especially my girl.

I received a letter from NVC around Nov.3, 2009, stating our petition has been approved and we were given the case number that starts with MNL... They said, after forwarding and contacting the USEM in Manila, they will send that packet to my girl. And it has been two weeks since I got that letter, and yet my girl did not receive any yet.

I'd like to ask if which is best thing to do? Should she wait for that packet and then call to schedule an interview? Or she can just call the Manila Embassy now to get an interview schedule?

Any assistance we would get from here would mean so much. Thanks much in advance!

Chris and Aes

Wow - you are much more patient than I! Call USEM now - you should be able to schedule the interview!

Good luck! good.gif

my Jean is 4' 8". She is not short, her butt lives near the ground laughing.gif , The last time we went out the waitress asked, did you have the Childs Plate!!! whistling.gif

Hi, there! this thread is so interesting....... I can relate to your wife Jean,we have similar height, my hubby is 5 8` but I am still smaller for him....My Dad in-law is 6 2` and my mom in law is 4 11`, they are both Americans.....

I can relate with Jean, the first time I arrived here I was with my sister in-law , we ate in Chillis , as we enter, the waitress offered a menu book while for me she gave me a roled recipe paper with maze game at the back for kids....LOL......hahahhahah!!!! I never thought of that until we seated, when I am looking for menu book my sister in-law told me open ur roled paper u will find ur recipe there for kids....Oh well,,,, we just keep on laughing ....second time I enrolled in Bally`s Fitness Club , it was my first time there, so receptionist gathered my identification as new member, she ask my age, when I said I am 34 , she don`t believe me, and my hubby said , yes! she is 34 , I am her husband, receptionists said...Oh....u don`t look like 34...they said I am like high school student, like 16 yrs.old! ur so cute..!!! and they let me in, in Bally`s....!!!

When I am with my husband, his friends would always tell me, oh ur so small, ur so cutel....LOL! well I am not embarrased with them, being cute is a compliment...it`s an adjective " in the dictionary the meaning of cute is endearing, adorable, lovable, sweet, lovely, appealing, engaging, delightful, dear, darling, winning, winsome, attractive, pretty; informal cutesy, twee. My husband is very proud of everything I am doing for him, like keeping the house clean, cooking good meal for him, taking care of him . I always feel his love and appreciaton of being married to a Filipina...! and would always tell me... for him..." Filipinas are the best wives in the world"

So all cute Filipina woman, we are small but we captured the heart of our man because of our qualities.... Let us be more loving wives.....! Mabuhay tayong lahat! God bless!

Cute thread - for cute VJ Filipinas!
The cute definition provided fits Iris - she's just right at 5'1". Once I showed my extended family pictures of our trips together and several said, "How old is that girl!?" thinking I had taken a teenager or something! I explained our age difference of 9 years - she's 31. Its now been 4 months apart, I miss her so much tonight. Oh, the first several times on VJ (in April under another name) I saw that people had written "Touched" in their signatures. I thought that was when they were together with their S.O. and got to touch each other! So I guess our last touch was in May - even before we filed! I'm in love like never before, always more and deeper and look forward very much to the next touch... heart.gif

There are thousands of varieties of rice from around the world, from "wild" and heirloom types to high yield hybrids.

Anybody familiar with "7-Tonner" from Mindanao or know what variety it may be similar to? Its has great texture and flavor.

Claudeth is from Cagayan and loves Jasmine so maybe they are similar. Whatever, I never seen anyone eat as much rice as she does. blink.gif I have to buy it in 50 pound bags and would do hundreds if I could find em wacko.gif

Iris arrives next week! One of her father's first questions in my regards was, "does he eat rice?" "She told him, "Yes, each meal!" Of course, when presented without option I select rice every time!
It will be interesting, we talk about our living together and she has joked asking what kind of rice dispenser we will have? Thought it was very funny, a rice dispenser, ha ha ha.... But maybe I need to reconsider, maybe she wasn't joking!? 50 pound bags!
I have not found many details but 7-tonner may be a strain of banaybanay type, maybe that is a kind of jasmine rice?

PhilippinesWhich forms, does Embassy need prior to interview?
The US Visa Information Service call center opens at 4pm Pacific time Sunday evening, 0800 in Manila. Make sure to have the MNL#, and the following information for both the petitioner and beneficiary: DOB, mailing address used on I-129F, email address, phone number. You can use the service to update addresses also. Ask for an email confirmation for interview schedule which will be used to gain entry to the USEM on interview date. Good luck!

PhilippinesWhich forms, does Embassy need prior to interview?
Here's some links to familiarize yourself with. It would take hours to answer your questions about this phase in explicit detail.
You can search the Philippine Forum with terms like NOA2, Interview, USEM, CFO, medical, St Luke's, and find tons of information.
Happy reading and good luck!

PhilippinesBest shipping method from the United States to the Philippines?
QUOTE (The_Sage1 @ Nov 21 2009, 03:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Does anyone know what shipping company the US embassy used to ship the packets to the fiancee? I really hope they don't go through the main postal service in the Philippines. They are slow!

USEM uses Air21, for both the letter prior to interview, and for sending passport w/visa to beneficiary. Air 21 is the Philippine contractor for FedEx. We have used them several times now without the slightest delay or problem.

For the delivery of Iris's visa she was able to fill out an authorization form provided by Air21 on interview day to have someone else pick up the visa package at Air21's office in Davao City. This also required the other person to have one of Iris' ID cards. Logistically - this helped greatly. Their first delivery attempt in Davao City was 2 days after receiving visa from USEM. USEM took 5 days to issue the visa after the interview.

Iris is from Mindanao too. Born in Davao City and grew up in Bislig then off to Marawi, to Illigan, to Davao, and has been in Maramag Bukidnon for the past few years... She just did a full circle around the island wrapping things up and visiting. She's leaving Davao tomorrow for Manila and will be here in my arms in Portland Wednesday! PhilippinesI-129F package
If ever there was a time, to get it right the first time - it is now.

Yep - don't use ACCO fasteners for your payment... Its the first thing to be removed upon receipt. Then your packet is disassembled and placed in a 2 pocket side by side folder supposedly with your submittal on one side and USCIS derived papers on the other. The ACCO fastener allows easy disassembly of your submission.

Diligent searching on the K1 forum will provide lots of info in this regard. Good luck!

General Tips on Assembling Applications for Mailing
http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

In preparing your packet, please take note of the following:
    • Do not use binders or folders that cannot be easily disassembled.
    • Use ACCO fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.
    • The use of tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. The tabs should be placed on the bottom and not the side for ease in filing.
    • Avoid using heavy-duty staples; instead use ACCO fasteners or heavy clips.
    • Avoid submitting originals unless specifically required. Avoid submitting oversized documentation when possible.

PhilippinesSnail mail question
In mid-2009 we mailed a small package from interior Mindanao to Portland, Oregon via Philippine post office. Just to be cheap - instead of using FedEx (Air21)... After several weeks we gave up hope and figured it had been plundered. After a few months totally forgot about it. Nearly 5 months later it arrived in Portland in perfect condition, sealed with no indication as to cause of delay! Was a huge surprise to say the least.
I figure it just sat there at the post office Philippine style - like waiting for a jeepney to fill up before heading out... :D
