I can't believe it, but FINALLY I have an NOA2. Right now I'm sitting (well - trying to sit) in my office but can't manage to stay still... I know it' s not easy to be patient and positive but very soon, for many of you, it' s all gonna be so worth it. Usually, once the approvals show up all goes much faster. Hey, I bet it beats me down to Ecuador and about the time I get there it will be showing up in their computer system just waiting for us to send in the paperwork! The question is....will Guayaquil, Ecuador be ready to interview him BEFORE I am set to leave the country July 6th??? To be determined. Oh, happy dayyyyyyyy Interestingly enough, no touch except for middle of last month....then no touch today...just a text at 9:30pm Central Standard Time. I was asked a few questions and spent my time waiting talking to another lady who is married to the USC. They hired an Immigration Lawyer and she said they have given them nothing but grief & lots of misinformation. I told her about all you amazing people here on VJ and she said she had heard of this site but never came here. I was asked: Q. How did you meet? A. We met in Second Life. Q. Whats that? A. An online game. Q. When are you planning on travelling? A. We are hoping for this weekend. Q. What does he do for work? A. He is a Windows System Administrator/Infastructure Analyst or I affectionately call him the IT Geek. (she laughed) Q. How do you keep in touch? A. We keep in touch via phone,email, msn, Skype whichever web cam program works best on the day really. Q. DO you have any proof of the relationship? A. (holding lime green folder full of it!) I said yes would you like to see the chat logs or the emails? She replied 'No its ok I found the photos and they are better' Q. (She asked Rebekkah my daughter) Is that your brother? A. Yes it is. Q. Did he not want to go with you? A. No he wanted to complete Years 11 & 12. 'Love the photos around Sydney...who took them?' Oh a friend of mine who is from Seattle. We flew her in from Brisbane for the day to take our engagement photos. 'Ok everything is in order, your visa is approved. We will print out your visa & have everything mailed out to you in the satchel in the next 2-3 days. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	; almost 7 months and still no NOA2	; I am an October filer, and I can't believe why it's taking so long!! Are there any other October filers??? I am really losing hope I am waiting longer than all ya'll - almost 7.5 months here I did everything possible, too. Contacted my Senator's office. When they put in a request with VSC, they were told we, too, were in admin processing and to check back in sixty days. Which is ridiculous, because I put in my own service request and after thirty days they DID issue a decision (a few days after the e-mail from my Senator's aide) - issuing me an RFE for something I included with the original petition, that they lost! The incompetence astounds me to no end. We feel totally powerless. We sent in our RFE response one month ago. Still, NOTHING. Dumb/Dumber I agree with you that my life is COMPLETELY ON HOLD by the immigration system. I feel completely let down by this system. I never fathomed it would take this long, and to see folks who filed two, three months after me get approved is heartwrenchingly unfair (especially since they got to pay a $100 lower fee (filing fees dropped in Nov) AND got approved faster. We don't even have any of the issues you mention regarding age or religious differences. My fiance and I are the same age. We met in person when I was studying in his country (not online or anything like that). Have dated for three and a half years. I lived in his country with him for almost a year. We have a long term, legit relationship, and to see people who met online through marriage brokers and met in person once or twice (not slamming those people, just showing a difference) have ALREADY been approved, when my FI and I have this looooong term relationship of being together constantly, are both young, never been married, professional workers, and we get treated this way. To me, it makes all the difference in the world to be able to wait for the approval with your SO. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	September 2009 K-1 Visa Filers	You apply as soon as you get here just to have it, after you get married you can go and change your name or wait until you adjust your status to apply for another one that will not have the stamp that says "only for work purposes with a valid work permit" (or something like that) But that's why you apply for 2 b/c the 1st one will have that stamp.. Thank you very much for answering. So, reasuming, to make sure : I don' t have to apply for the SSN before getting married. I can get married first and then apply for the SSN. Also, I don' t really need my SSN for anything. It doesn' t make sense to me why applying twice, though. Of course it works. I also applied after we got married but it will be on the family name I have on my I-94 form. Since I changed my family name, I have to apply for another card. SSN will stay the same, the only thing you are changing is your identity card. Just in case if you will change the family name... Thank you very much for answering, Ancica. Of course, after I receive it I have to go again and apply for a new one with the correct family name because the first one will be on my former family name. Im happy that we done that quickly. A clerk was so nice and helpfull and explained me that I can apply for a new card as soon as I receive the first one. Question ! Why applying twice then ? My idea is getting married first and then applying for the SSN. This works ? Feeling pretty well today, so thought I would check in and say hi. Karen.. my chemo course is 6 stages ( One session every 3 weeks).. so I have 5 more to go. Then, maybe can get back to trying to live a normal life with my hubby I'll check back with everyone soon. It was a very simple ceremony done by a Justice of the Peace with vows and exchanging rings. We are very pleased with how it went and we are enjoying a nice relaxing weekend! We are preparing everything for the big move to the States. David found that my cat Mimi who likes to eat and had a lot of weight can go with us in the cabin. Im so happy for that because I was concern for him. The "elders" (Tabi & Mimi ) will stay with us in the cabin and the young one (Sifki ) will travel like cargo. We have to buy sherpa bags for cabin boys and the proper transporter for the cargo boy. Im intending to put towels and a cover inside so he will have the best conditions during the transit. I hope that we will not have the problems with them and that this trip will not be so difficult for my boys. Niiiice ! You are packing already ! I have to come for visa on Monday or Tuesday, they will call me...and yes...all the time I was looking in the pink paper below my documents and when consul said to me: Welcome to the US and wish me all the best, I was astonished...couldn't believe that I am approved. I'd re-do the immigration process (with him), I'd re-marry (him). I wouldn't do the immigration process with or marry someone else.
