US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDHL Tracking From NVC to US Embassy

Hi, I was going crazy calling NVC everyday and I had given up when I had saw this on a post from another person and decided to give it a try. I went to www.dhl.com clicked Express then Tracking, then Track by Shipper's Reference, on this page you add your search info..You change the day and month to what you think your's might have left NVC

EXAMPLE:
* Shipper´s Reference : EXP 24 MAR 2011A
* Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 03 - 2011
* Date range for shipment - To: 26 - 03 - 2011
Account Number - Leave this blank
Shipment Destination: Egypt / You Choose your Country

The day I was trying this I saw a package had left for Egypt. I thought could that be our's? I called the NVC and I was told our package had gone out. The one I had saw was our's I was so happy. I just checked our's it's at the Sorting Center in Egypt now, it's moving fast :)
Someone with the example date I made up above for the country of Egypt has a package going to Egypt now as you will see if you try this.
The best of luck to everyone :)

How will I know where my package originates from? Will it be from Boston? Is that where the NVC is? I keep calling the NVC and keep getting they don't have it in the system yet. I just checked DHL and see one was sent out on the 27th (waybill 8832952634
(our NOA2 was June 24th)) and delivered on the 30th. They couldn't be that fast with our case, could they?

PhilippinesAny issues with flying out of Manila?
The one thing that I didn't find out about when I was there was the 750 Php Airport use tax. I came to the airport about $10 short with nothing left on my debit cards. If it weren't for the airline (Korean Air) helping me out, I would probably still be in Manila. From what I understand from a conversation with a reservation agent at Korean Air, all flights originating from the Philippines must be purchased in the Philippines. I guess it's some sort of law the Philippine government has.

I just hope and pray that we get our NOA2 by the time I leave here to visit her again in October (early April filer). I want to be there for her interview and accompany her back to the states. That way, she doesn't get lost trying to navigate any connecting airports. :D

PhilippinesNew NBI or renewal okay?

she have to get new one if her old nbi is already expired..there is no such renew anymore..but if her old nbi is not expired yet but just few month before expiration still better get new one..:)

Yeah, that's what I thought. I wanted to make sure, though. I think her original NBI is expired. I told her to get a new one and that renewals aren't allowed for expired NBI's anymore. Thanks for the confirmation.

I'm not sure if my fiancee' has her original NBI or not. If she does, will a renewed NBI work at the interview or will she need to get a completely new NBI? She lives in the Metro Manila area.

I asked her if she has her original. She has her old NBI.

PhilippinesManila Interview

Are the medicals and interview dates assigned or do you get to choose what dates you will have these on ?

Is there a time clock that starts ticking with you get the NOA2 ?

I am trying to extend our interview date because I just found out I can make another trip to see my financee.

I'm in Manila with my fiancee now and went through her interview with her. If you look on your NOA2, you'll see that it has a 4 month validity window. The interview needs to be done within that time frame unless the petition is extended. Extending the petition deadline is not a problem and is considered a routine process by the embassy. The interview is pre-scheduled, can be chosen based upon availability (either online when you register the visa fee as being paid or by calling the embassy) while the medical at St. Luke's Medical Extension Clinic is first come, first served. Ideally, the medical should be done at least 2 weeks prior to the interview. However, we didn't finish our medical until the day before the interview. SLMEC gave us a sealed envelope to give to the embassy during the interview. With that, we had no problems.

Aloha All - It worked out fine

So now for the long wait, and I also been thinking maybe better we married in Phil 1st, but its done now, moving on.

Peace........................Happy

Way to go, Happy. Welcome to the "Hurry up and Wait" Club. lol It should be a short wait, though. CSC (Cali Service Center) has been rocking lately. My Timeline estimate for NOA2 went from late August into mid-September to being dead-solid within the month of August (I'm an early April filer).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsUSCIS need a bigger PO Box - I-129f Sent

I personally am beginning to think that the instructions on sending the USPS Priority or certified with delivery confirmation should perhaps be sent to Lewisville instead of the PO Box in Dallas. I sent to PO Box in Dallas because instructions on VJ say to do so, but the trend shows that people sending to Lewisville (even theo ones that go USPS by Priority etc) get there faster than the ones that go to Dallas PO Box. It's a long process so not a big deal, but for perfectionists I bet Lewisville is the way to go.

I didn't even bother with the lockbox. I sent our I-129F directly to Lewisville, just as the VJ instructions indicate when sending via Priority Mail/UPS/FedEx.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMNL case number

My fiance, Patty is from Cotabato city. She teaches at Notre Dame University though she already submitted her resignation.
Her plan is to have her medical done July 25 & 26 and take care of getting all the documents together such as CENOMAR,
Birth Certificates, Transcripts, NBI Clearance, CFO Seminar (she'll come back for the sticker once visa is in hand).
I will be with her for the interview. We're targeting 3rd week of August for the interview and be on our way to California
1st week of September. May be we'll see you in Manila...

Granted, my Amy is in Metro Manila, but she was able to have her Birth Certificate (2 copies) and her CENOMAR delivered to her from the NSO. There was an additional fee for the delivery, but she's in a "special condition." :D We're expecting our first little one in October. NBI won't take any time to get; maybe about 5 minutes at one of their processing offices.

Same case here, ur not alone...we keep on calling them hopefully we'll have them this week

I've read other posts that say to ask to speak to a level 2 rep in these situations. It can take up to 15 business days for them to get the packet, but clearly you're way past the normal window of time.

That could be the problem. Neither FedEx nor UPS deliver to P.O. Boxes. You should've sent it to the Lewisville address if you were going to use FedEx/UPS/USPS Priority Mail. Have you received a delivery confirmation yet?

Same here. DON'T PANIC!!! I saw 2 6/21s scanned on friday. Our day will come!

Oh, I know it will. In the mean time, I'm letting the dogs loose on them. :)
The email I just sent to NVCResearch:

On July 12, 2011, I made an inquiry with a tier 2 representative at USCIS about the location of my case file. When the rep stated it had been forwarded to NVC, I informed him of an earlier call to USCIS in which I was informed that the case file was still at the California Service Center. Upon hearing this, he initiated an internal trace on the file. The attached letter from USCIS is the result of their internal search [saying they don't have it]. I'm also taking the liberty of including my I-797 again so there will be no mistaking what we're talking about. At this point, it is my feeling that my case file is in your facility but has not been scanned into your system. I've heard rumors of backlogs resulting from great numbers of petition approvals. I ask that you physically check your files again and summarily issue an embassy case number upon finding my file.

Just called this morning to see, no go. I never got my follow up email from NVC (it's en route blah blah), but I only just got the first one yesterday (we're looking into your inquiry blah blah), so I guess I'm expecting too much. 6/20s are being scanned in now, and some VJers have been told that a "big" batch arrived. I guess that's all we can hope for, to be at the bottom of some stack

That's encouraging news for me. Perhaps they'll get on the ball and get ours scanned in soon. Monday will be our 30th calendar day. NVC says they don't have our file. USCIS says they sent it to NVC. At first, it seemed like they lost our case file. Now, I'm hoping that NVC has it but doesn't know it yet.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsreschedule interview

hi guys. We have this situation that i the beneficiary living in canada as a temporary resident. I have an application that is on going which is the extension of my stay where i have to wait for their reply from the immigration canada. We decided with my fiance(petitioner) to transfer my files to US Embassy. For almost two months they received my files and i'm booked for interview this august 25 and the validity of NOA for K1 visa is on
September 4, 2011. Now i want to reschedule my interview because i want to hear their response from canada immigration.
My question, is there any harm on my paper if we book my interview after the expiration date of my NOA K1 visa?

Thanks so much.

gloria

Gloria,

You would have to fill out an application for extension. An example of this is in either the downloads or example forms sections on here. If you wait until after the K1 expiration to attend your interview and have not applied for an extension, you and your fiance will have to go through the entire application process again. I hope this answered your question.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApril Filer and still no NOA2

I followed the guides here. Also, my cousin who's a VJ regular and in the US now (she was on a K1 visa back in 2010 and has her green card now) also helped me put my petition together. She even stated that my petition package was better prepared then her own and others she had seen. So I doubt we will get a RFE because I checked it a dozen times, went over it with my cousin, followed the guides, etc. I pretty much did everything in the guide and was very organized.

Hmmm, okay. Are you the petitioner or the beneficiary?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApril Filer and still no NOA2

I finally signed up for a VJ K1 Visa timeline just to see our estimated time our NOA2 should arrive. I received our NOA1 on April 26, 2011. It states our NOA2 should arrive within August 23 to September 5, 2011. Well it's September 7th and still no word while it seems almost all the April filers (and even some May filers have their NOA2 before us) on VJ have their NOA2 for awhile now. I understand the VJ timeline is just an estimated timeline and NOA2 dates are either out way early or sometimes past the 5 month mark. We had hope that she would be here at least by first week of November, but not knowing when out NOA2 will be approve, I doubt I can expect her here by November.

Sorry just ranting away.

Did you follow the guides on here prior to filing or did you find this site after you filed your petition?

Enah,

I've been watching the Philippines Embassy reviews for a while. As long as you know and can answer questions about your fiancee (where does he work, live, etc. and how long you've known each other, any wedding plans) you should be fine. Click here for the Embassy reviews I mentioned. If your interview is on October 18, we'll probably see you there. :)

Today is travel day. Got it all done with Mahal ko. Medical, Embassy, CFO (Philippines), Visa issued. And tickets ready. Shortly we leave the Philippines to travel home. 27 hours and will be home. How much did you have to pay in taxes for Gretchen at NAIA? I'm hoping to be in the same boat as you in a couple of months and want to be well prepared. :help:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFinally got NOA2!!! What next?

how do you pay through BPI? do they have an account # or something?

Your fiancee takes their passport to a BPI branch as described above and tells the teller that he/she is making a payment for the US Embassy visa fee. The fee payment will be routed to the correct account. If the payment is made after 3 pm then it won't post until the next business day.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFinally got NOA2!!! What next?

Congratulations on your wedding. I'm glad that your NOA2 came out just after a short period. Ours took 5 months! I don't know why but when I called them up they said they don't work on cases in a chronological order. Did your fiancee do the medical first then schedule a USEM appointment? Happy Thanksgiving by the way, or as it's known in the Philippines and elsewhere in the world, THURSDAY.

Hmmm, has NVC received your case at all yet? They only hold on to case files for about 48 hours before shipping them off to the respective embassies. As for the medical, it doesn't matter which you do first - go for the medical or schedule the interview - as long as you have your MNL number. You will need that number for both going through the medical and scheduling the interview. We scheduled the interview online as opposed to calling the embassy. With that said, we scheduled the interview before going for her medical. When she goes to pay the $350 visa fee, she can go to any BPI branch as long as its not a BPI Savings Bank branch. It has to be a full service branch. She will need her passport (or at least her passport number, but should bring her passport just in case) since the embassy tracks who paid the fee by the passport number. Her passport number is also the receipt number. It's also important that she brings the receipt from the visa fee payment with her to the interview. They will need it for their files. We forgot to bring it with us and it delayed us getting her visa a little. Although, we did have the good fortune to have requested her visa be held for pick-up at SM Bicutan. If she lives in Metro Manila near there, don't select that location for pick-up. When we went to see if it was ready, one of the guards in the mall said that 2Go had pulled out of SM Bicutan. So, that sent me back to the embassy the next day to inquire about her visa. That's when they told me that they were missing and needed the payment receipt. I asked if I could bring it back the next day and pick-up the visa and they said okay. However, this is something they DO NOT normally do. I count myself as very lucky in this case.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFinally got NOA2!!! What next?

Wally thanks so much for your reply. I have been looking for reliable info on what to do next or what to expect. In last 3 income tax filings, I filed as married with dependents of course because my divorce did not finalize until May of this year. I filed my I-129F sometime in June. Do you think my tax filing status then will make a difference? I will be supplying my fiancee my final divorce papers of course. In fact she already has it. I also will include an employment certification, pay stubs and W-2's. I filed all 1040A's as well.
I have not received a case number from the NVC yet. Is that the MNL#?
When is the right time to get a medical? After she gets a notification from the embassy? How long did it take for the NVC to send your package to USEM? I got my NOA2 Nov 16,2011. Thanks for all your help. God bless!!!

Yes, your NVC case number is you MNL number. The embassy may ask about your filing status, but what matters to them is that you're legally able to marry within 90 days after your fiancee enters the USA. Your divorce decree is your proof of that. As soon as you have your MNL number, your fiancee can go to SMLEC for the medical. In our case, we were pushing things right to the limit. My Amy tried to get her medical done a week before her interview but was told to come back due to some female issues due to a recent pregnancy. We finished her medical the day before her interview. SMLEC gave her an envelope to take with her to the interview. We came out fine. :)

Everything seems in order. It is possible that you could be with her when it is interview time. That is exciting that you are expecting a baby!!

Thank you. We're both excited. Even though our angel isn't due to arrive until October, I bought a car seat/stroller combo tonight. :D

I think you might be getting your wires crossed - it's met at least once in the last two years, isn't it?

From the USCIS Fiance(e) Visa website:

Eligibility Requirements

If you petition for a fiancé(e) visa, you must show that:

You (the petitioner) are a U.S. citizen.
You intend to marry within 90 days of your fiancé(e) entering the United States.
You and your fiancé(e) are both free to marry and any previous marriages must have been legally terminated by divorce, death, or annulment.
You met each other, in person, at least once within 2 years of filing your petition. There are two exceptions that require a waiver:
1. If the requirement to meet would violate strict and long-established customs of your or your fiancé(e)’s foreign culture or social practice.
2. If you prove that the requirement to meet would result in extreme hardship to you.

Generally speaking, at this point in time, CSC is the place to be. They're getting to petitions more or less within the 5 month time frame, whereas VSC have lapsed to 6/7.

Having said that, VSC have had two rather superb weeks of late, and look perhaps on track to catch up. So there's every chance that in five months time, both CSC and VSC will be working on April filers.

Right on! I got my NOA1 hardcopy in the mail today. It may have come yesterday, but I wasn't home. According to my timeline, NOA2 could come somewhere around Sept 20th. That would be awesome since I plan on being in Manila during almost the whole month of October for our baby's birth. And, if she has her interview and passes I'll have the privilege of accompaning her to the States. :joy:

You can filter by service center and adjust the number of results per page at the bottom.

Btw, TSC isn't your service center - that's just the place everyone sends their petition initially. It's where it is then routed - CSC or VSC - that is your service center.

Ahh, okay. Thanks for the clarification. Any idea how I'll know which service center mine will be sent to? As you can see, I'm still waiting on my NOA1 hardcopy. Will the hardcopy tell me which one it's being routed to when I receive it?
