You guys are the best, so supportive and understanding! OMG, sometimes I peep into other groups and they are actually fighting about different issues. LMAO...I find it so funny, I'm like seriously is it that serious?!
Anyways I think it would be sooo much fun to meet everyone...May filers 2011 annual cookout?? Haha...I can see it now!! Lots of fun!
So I decided that I'm going to add another task to my "keep myself busy until he comes list". I'm going to try and loose the 40 pounds that I gained while in nursing school because I've become sooo out of shape and I wanna be able to start a family as soon as he comes so I want to be at my regular weight so cheer me on guys here I go! If anyone else wants to join let's do it!!! Xoxo....off to the gym now!

Have a blessed day everyone! :-)

Best of luck in making your goal, Harmony. A cook-out would be awesome. I'm in the Quad Cities on the Illinois side (Davenport & Bettendorf, IA & Moline & Rock Island, IL). Even though I'm really not a May filer (April actually), I know I've been posting on this board long enough that I'm considered part of the family (mentally sings Sister Sledge's "We Are Family" ). I would love to meet everyone. Perhaps having an event like this in the Midwest would make it centrally located for everyone?

What a big fat love fest here on the May board. We all love us some Walmart too! lol. I think we need a reunion (or first meeting) when we all have our loves here. Love you guys!

We should all have a get-together... at a WalMart.

Congratulations RAY_J!!! Long time coming But you got it.After a Month and 3 Days! I am Happy for you and AMY! It use to didnt take that long at NVC but like you said in your Post in April Filers NVC is backlogged cause of all the petitions being Approved. Ray_J You on your way, Now to the medical! I figure I will wait just as long. They told me to call back on August 8th cause that will be 15 BUSINESS DAYS from our NOA2. I dont listen to that. I call every day. Just like you after August 8th if I dont have our case number I will scan and send NOA2 to them. Anyway Again..............."CONGRATULATIONS!!! on to USEM!!!! Keep us Posted!!!

By the way..How you find out? Email/Txt or you called?

I figured it would be sometime this week or next since the email from NVCResearch said that CIS would be sending the file. I found out when I called today. If they're going to send an email, I haven't received it yet. When he asked for the beneficiary's info, my heart almost skipped a beat and I started smiling like the Cheshire Cat. I was so excited that, for a split second, I forgot Amy's birthday.

Yep. It is. Although, I've seen a couple of duplicate on there, too. I even went so far as to message a few of them asking them to make necessary corrections.

On a side note, NVC got our case today. We have our MNL number finally!

Hi Jennzbunch...hers wht mine said......

"The above Petition has been approved. We have sent the original Visa Petition to the department of State National Visa Center(NVC) 32 Rochester Ave. Portsmouth NH. 03801-2909. The USCIS has completed all action. Further inquiries should be directed to the NVC.
The NVC now processes ALL approved Fiance(e) Petitions. The NVCprocessing should be complete within 2 to 4 weeks....AFTER receiving the Petition from USCIS.The NVC will create a case record with your Petition Information .NVC will then send the Petition to the US Embassy or consulate where your Fiance(e) will be interviewed for his or her Visa. You will receive notification by mail when NVC has sent your Petition to the US Embassy or Consulate (YEA RIGHT :D

The notification Letter will provide you with a unique number for your case and the name and Address of the the US Embassy or Consulate where your Petition has been sent. You should allow a minimum of 30 days for Department of State Processing before contacting NVC! ( I wont wait that long too call):( If You have not received any Correspondence fron NVC within 30 days, YOU MAY contact by email " NVCINQUIRY@STATE.GOV"You will need to enter the USCIS receipt number from your NOA2.Ijn oreder to receive information about your petition you will need to include the Petitioners name and date of Birth and the Applicants(Fiance(e)) name and date of birth in the Body of the Email.

"THIS FORM IS NOT A VISA NOR MAY IT BE USED IN PLACE OF A VISA"

However, getting the NOA2 is just the end of the first phase of the visa journey. I just got a letter from USCIS about my inquiry as to the whereabouts of my file. They say they sent it to the NVC. I also received an email from nvcresearch@state.gov about my inquiry about why they don't have it in their system yet. All they can tell me so far is that they don't have it and will contact USCIS on my behalf to try and find out where the file might be. :bonk:

YES Nelkel that what i heard also! they backlogged! we just wait. I called them today and just for my own satisfaction and talked to an Operator.I gave her my WAC case number and she told me its not there yet. I figured that anyway its only been 2 days.:whistle:She told me to call back on friday of next week.I told her ok yes I will.BUT...I will call everyday just to see.I told Grace a lil while ago to get ready to Fly to Manila for her medical soon.I have the NOA 2 today in the Mail! only took 2 days since I am in California. I will scan the NOA 2 and give her case Number and she can take the medical with the other things she need to bring there.

She won't be able to get her medical done until you two have you MNL number from the NVC. It's good that you scanned your NOA2. PDF format is the preferable form for emailing it to the NVC. Call as much as you wish, but give them 15 business days before you send the email copy of your NOA2. When you do send the email, make sure you have your USCIS receipt number in the subject line. There's no time frame given to the operators of when the research will be complete, but I had one tell me to give them a couple of weeks to complete their research. Apparently, when you email your NOA2 to nvcresearch@state.gov the email gets bounced from department to department looking for the file.

Even though I've already received our NOA2, here's an update in our case. Amy went to the DFA to renew her passport today. She, being the smart woman she is, requested rush processing. She'll have her new passport around August 1. Yea!! Now, back to reality... still nothing from NVC. I sent a copy of our NOA2 to nvcresearch@state.gov. I called later and asked how long I should wait and was told by a somewhat rude operator that there was no specific time frame; that it takes longer than a few hours to research. At that point, I was thinking like Bill Engval saying "here's your sign."

Got the acceptance e-mail at 12:22am this morning 01/11/2011.
The weird timing of it makes me wonder if they aren't sent out at automated times from the system.
Because I doubt anyone is working at just after midnight.

It's a relief though.

Hehehe. I'm an April filer (filed last week), but I received my e-NOA1 text and email at the same time of night as you did. It caught me by surprise also. I was expecting it to come during more normal business hours.

Ray, Kendora, and all:

Congrats to all on the marriages!
As for Inday and myself? Inday and I are trying to get rolling on the AOS stuff. Having a hard time getting started initially because of work, daily routine stuff, tax season, death of close friend but mainly interrupted by Department of Transportation "displacing" us from our apartment. Essentially apartment is being demolished under law of eminent domain to make way for highway. So, in addition to all else, Inday and I have been busy packing, looking for new apartment (found), moving into new apartment (done), unpacking (still).
However, Inday is here in U.S.., we are happily married, and we look at all--even the seeming chaos--as blessings (even though some of these may be currently in disguise). Best and continuing wishes to all our VJ family and friends. --RK

Thanks, RK. I thank God that you can see His hand in all the chaos, bringing order in its wake. Blessings to you and your families as well as everyone's marriage on here. If anyone would like to be a virtual attendee to our wedding, you can see it here:

My fiancee arrived here last Dec 20, 2011... and it went smoothly for her at the immigration (POE- La). We were just enjoying the holidays together and now planning for a simple wedding. Is it true that AOS can be filed within a year?

As I understand it, AOS can be filed as soon as you have everything you need to send in with the paperwork. See the AOS guides for a detailed explanation of the required supporting documentation. However, if your question is more about how much time you have before you absolutely have to file then I've heard that while it should be done as soon as possible you can wait for a brief period if necessary to file. However, I wouldn't wait too long to file since this might raise some red flags.

Did our interview last Dec 6,2011 and was approved. Just wondering does anyone have an idea how long does it takes to received the visa.

Congrats! That would depend upon if you specified that you would pick it up at a 2Go office and where in the Philippines you live if you didn't tell them to hold for pick-up. Generally, plan on about 2 weeks.

Yup, thanks. That is why I was asking. Inday did go to Pasay office and, even though the staff there did their best and were courteous, were unable to help Inday resolve her issue. Next possibility was to go to Quezon city, especially when I saw you seemed to be making some in-roads there. again, thanks very much for the info!! --RK

If she doesn't have any luck at NSO Quezon, have Inday go to Manila City Hall and see Ms. Aurora Guzman in the Civil Registry Office. She's the NSO liaison for the MCH. Have Inday drop my name, Raymond Jornd. If Ms. Guzman doesn't recall me right away, tell her that Amy Antonio is my fiancee and that my daughter's name is Serena Jornd. Have Inday explain her situation and ask if there's any way she can contact Ms. Edith Orcilia's office to expedite the process as much as possible.

OK, Ray, thanks!! That helps (I had info showing several different addresses). Yup, taxi often seems like best bet so thanks for info! --RK

If you're anywhere near the Mall of Asia, then you'll want to go to the NSO office in Pasay City. That's the closest place to the Embassy, too. However, it seems that most of the people that can do anything are at the Quezon City office on the 4th floor (no elevator).

Ray-J: Am following your updates with the greatest of empathy. Ugh, the frustrations of dealing with bureaucratic paperworkd in Philippines--or any country for that matter. Glad you seem to have some personnel that seem to be trying to be hellllllpful. I feel for you and am encouraged by your positive attitude in all this. I, too, will be praying for you and your family's situation. --RK

P.S. Where in Quezon city exactly is the NSO office and what is best way to get there? (I am getting some conflicting information from other sources.) Thanks! --RK

It's at the corner of Quezon Ave and EDSA. As far as how you get there, that would depend upon where you're coming from and what time of day it is. I've been getting around by taking a taxi everywhere. Taxis in the Philippines are cheap when compared to the same mode of transport in the US. From where I'm staying by Market! Market! in Taguig City, it costs about 300 to 400 pesos to get to USEM. That's with tip and works out to be about $10 USD.

CRBA Update:

We seem to have some positive movement on the NSO BC. After getting the help Ms. Guzman promised, we traveled to the NSO office in Quezon City today and spoke with Ms. Orcilia's secretary. We filled out a form and paid for our copy of the BC. We'll get to go back on Tuesday, Nov. 8 to pick it up. This is a process that would normally mean that the BC wouldn't be available until Nov. 22. In the mean time, I pray that we can get a CRBA appointment on either Nov. 8, 9, or 10. Mom and I leave for home on the 11th.
Ray-JMalePhilippines2011-11-02 07:30:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApril 2011 Filers
CRBA didn't happen. The embassy stuck to their guns about requiring an NSO birth certificate. They said the only way they could get around it was with permission from D.C. God knows how long that would take. Went back to Manila City Hall and talked to Ms. Guzman. She referred us to the person in charge of scanning documents into the NSO database. She wasn't there when we got to NSO in Quezon City.... But upon returning to Manila City Hall, Ms. Guzman said she did get our contact on the phone. Supposedly, Serena's NSO birth certificate is now being fast tracked. We could have it before we leave to come home. However, with CRBA appointment availability and embassy processing times, Amy and Serena will have to travel alone after she has Serena's passport. The good news is that I asked the Embassy about the possibility of a DNA test being required. They said they don't require them but only recommend.

Ray-J, Ouch on SM Bicutan 2go being out of business but "Hurray!!" for being able to pickup visa at embassy; very good news. Yes, have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with NSO and BCs for months on ende. Experience a bit different than yours so I can't provid any pertinent advice except to keep asking-and persistentlly--until you find some who can help you or seems to be able to provide the correct information. Hopefully, Ms. Guzman is that person. I am hoping it all works out for you and your family soon. --RK

Visa in hand now. Picked it up at the embassy but had to insist that I was told I could do so if I brought in the receipt. I also had to show my passport at the embassy. Ms. Guzman assured me again today that the embassy will accept a civil copy on security paper because they know the NSO is so slow and Serena is still so young. We'll see what happens on Friday. I'll keep everyone posted. In the mean time, I think we'll try to get the CFO seminar out of the way either tomorrow or Thursday (Tuesday here, now).
Ray-JMalePhilippines2011-10-25 01:00:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApril 2011 Filers
Okay, VJ'ers... here's where I'm at in the process now. As most of you might know already, we passed the embassy interview. We had specified for her visa to be held for pick-up at 2Go at SM Bicutan. However, when we went there to check on it we found out that location had gone out of business. This prompted me to make another trip to the embassy to inquire about our options. Amy forgot to bring her visa payment receipt to the interview, which they never asked for. This worked out in our favor because the embassy never sent out her visa for delivery due to no proof of payment. They told me that all we have to do is bring the receipt to them and we can pick-up her visa from the embassy. That was relief number 1 today.

I had a bit of frustration again with the NSO (National Statistics Office (for those not familiar with Philippine government)). We've been having issues getting Serena's birth certificate from them. The NSO says that her BC is in a verification period and that they wouldn't be able to release her BC until Nov. 22. The problem is that we're supposed to leave on Nov. 11 and Serena's CRBA interview is this coming Friday. When I was at the NSO this past Friday, they told me that if I came back with the civil copy they'd be able to release the BC. That proved to be false. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor I spoke with directed me to go back to Manila City Hall and speak to Ms. Aurora Guzman (very nice lady). She was the one who gave me hope that everything might actually come together. She said that the embassy knows how slow the process is in the Philippines and will accept a civil copy if it is printed on security paper. I had to pay an additional fee for copies on the security paper and was asked to return the next day. I'll be glad to be done with this 3-ring circus governmental system.

@John&GG: Double Hurray's (Hurray! Hurray!!) for passing interview!! :dancing:   :dancing:

The reason I asked about CFO is that I saw (and responded) to your other post about CFO. Plus, if it helps, using tips from previous CFO attendees, Inday and I used following strategy: Inday went to CFO seminer loaded with every single document she brought to U.S. embassy interview plus my tax forms/transcripts (for my proof of singleness) plus my education transcripts. That strategy and a respectful attitude towards the CFO counselors helped considerably. Inday said the counselor took one look at the 4 pound pile of documentation she had brought--and the rest was easy.

Again, congrats on passing the interview. 'Tis a great feeling!!!

--RK

I wonder if the Letter of Intent to Marry would work in this situation; especially since it's addressed to the embassy.

GG passed her medical and now just has her interview left on the 20th. Oh and plane ticket since she spent nearly all of her money. >.<

Yeah, we're in the same situation due to Serena's early arrival. The money I sent Amy for the medical was spent on supplies for the birth. I have to cut the budget in half for our wedding ring set to pay for the medical. This is the last hurdle before the interview on the 18th. We plan on taking care of this tomorrow.

I've been preparing for this all day and I'm still not finished. Laundry is finally done. I'm just about finished packing everything. The car is mostly loaded up. Dishes still need to be finished, but only have a small amount to do. And, the last thing I need to do is sweep the floors. Then, it's off to the Chicago area where I'll wait at my mom's place for our ride. Oh, on top of that, I still have homework to do for school... and, it's due tomorrow night while I'm on the plane. will u now have to do the visa process for baby?

No, I won't. There's a provision for US citizenship in the Immigration and Naturalization Act (INA) for biological children born of at least one USC parent outside the USA as long as the USC meets prior residency requirements. It's called a CRBA (Consular Registration of Birth Abroad). Basically, it's just more paperwork and red tape. It's not like I'm not used to that by now.

Lucky, I wish I had that much time off of work. :) When I go to pick my lady up, it will be over the 4 days off I have for Thanksgiving. So won't have much time there.

I've been at my job for over a year. So, I'm using my week-long vacation and taking 3 out of the 6 weeks allowed for personal unpaid leave.

As long as we don't wait too long I think we'll be okay. I leave in 9 more days for my month-long vacation to be with Amy and Serena.

Ray--I am genuinely sorry you weren't able to be there with Amy. However, I hope and pray that all has turned out well. --RK

Thanks. After thinking about things, I believe that it was God's perfect timing why it turned out this way. I talked to Serena's doctor tonight and found out that she was in such distress during the delivery that she ingested a small amount of marconium (fecal matter). As a result, she has pneumonia and is responding to antibiotics. She'll be in an incubator for a little while longer. Hopefully, I'll be able to bring her home after I get to Manila. She weighed 6 lbs, 6 oz. and was 19.5 inches long at birth. Amy said she was able to get up to see her today and should have pics for me shortly. Amy is also being discharged today.

My fiancee finally got her letter from USEMBASSY manila stating that she can schedule her interview. But the sad thing is that we still have to wait for her police certificate from brunie. And to think she cannot apply for the certificate not unless the letter from US embassy arrive since it is part of the requirement. Such a hassle. But anyway , we can now start the police certificate application hoping that we dont have to wait longer. I really am excited to bring her to US with me when I leave in Oct 7, hope things will work out fine.

If only you were leaving 2 days later, we might've been able to bump into each other at NAIA.

November 27th. I am going to get her over Thanksgiving... Oddly enough our wedding is the same day as yours. We are doing that in Vegas... That day happens to be her birthday too. :)

Hehehe. Be sure to check out the Hoover Dam tour. It's pretty cool. Our wedding will be in the Chicago area so that my family and friends can attend.
