I filed mine in January and all I included was a copy of my green card, tax returns and the birth certificate of our youngest son. I saw no reason to gather piles of evidence, I figured if they want that much they'll want to interview us anyway.
We did the least possible "evidence pile" previously too (F1 visa and green card interviews) and the only comment we got was "do you want to show your wedding photos" and we said 'not really' (though we had "everything they could ever want" in a binder, and our then 6 weeks old oldest son with us) and that was fine. But now I feel like a slacker ;)

Yes, it should. She won't need all those different forms of ID either.
It did ask for my social security number on the form they had me fill out, but I hadn't (and haven't) memorized it and it was fine to just leave it blank.

No affidavits here, actually not much of anything besides tax returns and the kids' birth certificates. We've gone the minimal evidence route since the K1 visa.
Still waiting for any sign of something going on at the NSC, filed for lifting of conditions in January wacko.gif According to the processing times we'll get something in a month or two. Time to file for naturalization in 2½ months. tongue_ss.gif

For a K-1 Visa Interview, assuming approval and no AP, what is the current(ish) wait time between the interview and the date you can pick up your visa?

We are planning to drive from Edmonton to Vancouver for the interview, and trying to decide if it makes sense to try to wait it out in Vancouver and head to the US from there, or add the 12-hours to drive back to Edmonton and wait.

That is the same website the Vancouver embassy sent me. I just logged into my account, and I do see the "register for courier services."

This just means you need to designate a local pickup point for your passport.

When they send it, you will see a waybill number; you can email that to DHL/Loomis Express and pay a $20 fee to have it delivered to your home.

Good luck - hopefully this means it was ready, and they wanted to ship it, and that's what triggered the message.

Also, the message gave you an error because it was sent from an email box that was not configured to accept incoming mail - hence "do not reply"

You could always contact the embassy at a different address if it would make you feel more comfortable

Updating this thread for future K-1ers...

I was allowed in line, into the Vancouver consulate, up to the waiting room, and at the administrative paperwork windows, without a question or mention.

When my fiance was called to the officer's window, I went with him and peeked in for credit. The officer kindly advised me that he wouldn't have any questions for me, and that I may return to the waiting areas until they were through. The interview took 5-10 minutes.

Hello,

If you attended your interview in Vancouver, were USC fiances permitted to attend for the K-1 interview?

I've read that they are allowed to, but my fiance asked the K department, and we couldn't understand if their response meant "yes" or "no." So now I am worried.

Please advise.

(If I can't attend, should I just send my passport with him? I already traveled to Vancouver for this, so I guess I can send my passport with him as proof that I'm here, if I am not allowed to attend? Any other suggestions? ...)

I just called the USCIS "mis-information"-line to inquire about my year-old I-751 application filed at the lovely NSC. After taking all my information the USCIS representative told me that my case was definitely out of the time range by as much as 180 days. I was dumbfounded of course and said the current priority date for NSC is Feb 10th 2007 so how can I be out by 180 days. He then said NSC is currently processing applications filed in Aug 2007 and that the 02/07 date just shows "when visas become available" or something of that sort. He put in a service request for my case and said an immigration officer should have it by 03/16. I was also advised to make an infopass appointment to get a stamp in my passport (extension expires 04/08).

What he said does not sound right to me. What do you guys think? I didn't want to argue with him because he sounded a bit stressed but the whole time I'm thinking "What the heck is this guy talking about?".

I got my approval notice on Friday the 11th only to receive a second notice this morning stating that production of my new card had been ordered on the 12th. blink.gif LOL What, am I getting TWO green cards suddenly? Did they like my application so much they decided to approve me twice? Oh well, at least it's all over and done with. Just...funny, I guess.

Canadainternationals, problems entering canada?
I don't know what your home country is, but let me tell you our horror story. My fiance visited me often in 2005. He is from France and he would come to see me in the US. We were always careful about him having to leave before the 90days on a VW, but we did make a trip to Canada once for sightseeing. When we came back through immigration at the border to enter US, there was not a problem. They re-issued him a VW and in essence restarted his 90 days. No one told us that was a problem. But later coming back to the US after a trip together to France, he was stopped at the airport, interviewed and sent home to France on the same plane we had arrived on. We started paperwork immediately for his K-3 and in the meantime he was blocked in France....this has been since March 2006. In the meantime his K-s was approved, but during his interview in Paris, the consul told him that he was judged to be "unlawfully present" in the US because of that Canada trip and that he needed a 601 and 212 waiver before he would be issued his K-3 visa. That paperwork was all sent to Rome where it was judged he never needed the waiver in the first place and that he should never have been denied entry back in 2006. So you see, it was a year and half for someone to determine that he never should have been denied in the first place!!! We have a happy ending....his k-3 visa is in his hand today, tomorrow he is booking his flight and he is coming back to the same airport, but this time he'll have all the right paperwork to be allowed in.

My advice would to be cautious about entries/exits between US and Canada.

No expert here but believe they need originals . With a more up todate signature. That's what I read in the guides
Both the 325A plus one other. By doing this you reaffirm your desire to marry. Make sure you put a date closer to interview not when you sent the first k1

Just wondering if anyone out there has sent back their packet 3 and waiting for packet 4 or just received packet 4 fro IR-1/CR-1 Visa. We sent in Packet 3 back on 26th June, I know its only been 2 weeks,but looking to see if things are moving quickly in the Embassy or if I shouldn't get my hopes up of getting an interview this month.

The better half has very visible marks from her vaccine shots.. But no records. Will this count for anything or will she have to get all vaccines again,, she is from a small village and records long gone
