But now it's going on almost 2 months waiting for Packet 3!!! So I can understand how you feel, and I know all too well about the "little fights" with the fiance! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	what can i do?? 17 days since NOA2 and nothing!!	Sorry Goldie, I just wanted to correct myself on my prior post. On the embassy website it says that usually security checks are complete before the visa interview, but sometimes it is necessary to conduct further security checks after the interview before the visa is given and that could "take up to 4-6 months". Don't feel too bad Goldie. Our NOA2 was approved on 3/16/06 and I have not heard a word since ! My lawyer says they are doing a security check and I won't hear anything until it clears. And on the Ankara Embassy website it clearly states that it takes 4-6 months to do the security check and there is nothing to expidite it. If I don't hear anything by the end of June my lawyer will apply for an extension because my NOA2 will expire on 7/16/06. I'm sure time frames will differ from embassy to embassy and my fiance is Muslim too, so that alone will hold up our process. Stay strong and keep the faith. At least you know your not alone here . K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Big Disappointment...	Well, I had originally thought my lawyer received Packet 3 over 6 weeks ago. And we couldn't understand why my fiance had not received it yet??? Why would they send it to my lawyer and not him? And why wasn't my lawyer telling me about all the things I need to gather for my fiance's interview which could be in a month or two if he were to receive Packet 3 any day now? After several failed attempts to contact my lawyer by phone I finally made an appointment to see him. I of course went to the appointment with my defenses up ! I was thinking he was so inept... Well the joke was on me because he never received Packet 3 !!! It was a BIG miscommunication that his secretary conveyed to me and I misunderstood her... Blah blah blahhhhhhh ... So now it all makes sense why he's not telling me anything, because he has nothing to tell me! He basically told me that I have to chill and wait... I told him about VJ and I kept comparing other Muslim cases to mine that had been approved or have interview dates and started after me and I made him crazy! He told me to get off the website ! And was I "paying him or the website"? So he proceeded to tell me what he's seeing that I'm not seeing on the site... He has a Muslim client in Egypt who has been waiting 4 years for his security clearance. He has had several men denied in other Middle Eastern countries recently... Well that really brought me back to reality . He said the crime that Resul is charged with is that he is male, young, and Muslim. He said the embassies have been really jerking the Muslim men around a lot lately. He wanted me to take the "rose colored glasses off" and see reality... He thinks we will be ok and should be able to get the visa in due time, but he made me sign a letter that I will attend the interview in Ankara when it is scheduled. I wasn't planning on going to the interview. Not that I wouldn't want to be there for Resul, but it's more money that we don't have! And God knows we will need more money when he gets here, as I see the government will be eating up more money with all the future applications and filing fees ! It doesn't end! My lawyer wrote in the letter that he "strongly suggests that I attend the interview", and then he said to me "and I'm telling you, you have to go". He said that if we want any chance of getting this visa I better go. If I go it will strongly validate our relationship and if there are questions or problems I will be there to answer. So guess who will be going back to Turkey??? LOL This news really brought Resul and I down . It's been 6 months since we were together and we are going crazy . I've spent the last 2 weekends on the cam crying to him and then he starts filling up . We are so tired of being on the cam and talking on the phone. We just want to be together as I know every one of you want. Do any of you veteran VJ-ers have some pointers on how to stay positive, strong, and less emotional during times like these? One day he is up and I am down, vice/versa... We've even started playing games on Yahoo IM to break up the monotony. Thanks for listening to me vent ! I took a couple of weeks off from VJ because I was stressing myself out reading everything and worrying about everything. But I'm back and trying to be strong! Is that standard procedure? Because I'd never heard of it before. My lawyer is in the US. From what I heard they will either send it to the petitioner or the lawyer in the US, and then send a duplicate copy to the beneficiary. But they never sent it to my fiance in Turkey! This also happened to another couple that I know. It only went to the lawyer! That's ridiculous. I'd get another lawyer to sue your lawyer! no really...people have no understanding of what we go through until they GO THROUGH IT THEMSELVES! I'm so sorry to hear that it happened to you. Pray it doesn't happen to me cause our lawyer would make your lawyer look like a saint. He kept his secretary lol. OMG!!! Do you want the "saint's" phone #? LOL Well, I hope your luck starts changing with your lawyer! No, they have no idea what we go through! 2 months of unnecessary tears, arguments, and stress, for no reason! Good luck! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Lawyers, Lawyers, Lawyers!!!	Well... It was going on 9 weeks without any word after our NOA2. My lawyer basically told me to chill out and wait, security checks could take months. I wouldn't let it rest... A new friend of mine from VJ told me I should call the NVC to make sure it's not sitting there. So I called and they said our petition was forwarded to the Ankara Embassy on 3/21/06. I emailed the embassy and explained that I have not heard a thing in 9 weeks and could they please tell me the status of my case. They emailed back in one day and told me they forwarded Packet 3 to my lawyer on 3/24/06!!!!!!! When I heard this I almost exploded ! 2 months were wasted for nothing ! I forwarded the email from the embassy to him and called him. He called me back and apologized. Whether true or not, he said that his secretary, who was fired 3 weeks ago, miss filed my Packet 3. And while he was away on business last week the new secretary found the Packet and he thought they just received it! And to make up for it he said he will do my AOS for free, which would have cost me $2,000. I wasn't going to hire him for the AOS, I was going to do it myself with the help of VJ, but hell I'm going to take him up on his offer and take up his time and money! All I can say is always rely on your gut feeling/instincts. All along I felt something was not right and sure enough I was right. Now we have Packet 3 !!! Finally !!! My question is this: Our NOA1 was approved on 3/1/06, our NOA2 was approved on 3/16/06, where do we fit in with the IMBRA Law? Are we ok because our NOA1 was approved before 3/5/06?
