IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	living abroad	My husband(then fiance) and I weighed all the pros and cons of living in the USA or Tunisia and what type of visa to apply for before we fianlly came to the desicion of living here and marrying here in the USA. As long as you have strong proof of your relationship and show that is a true relationship, any visa you decide to go for should be ok. One big factor for us is that we knew we wanted to be together in the same palce from the day we married, so this is why we chose the K-1 visa. I currently live with my parents due to their financial situation and I pay rent to my parents on monthly basis. My parents are willing to write a letter and have it notarized that I do live with them, but I am paying them rent every month. I want to include this in the affidavit of support documentation I will be sending to my fiancé. Will the fact that I do not have an apartment hurt us in anyway.   My parents, along with my fiancé and I have looked at various scenarios for this, that include us building out my parents basement and living their in our own apartment, but have decided that it is best that we live in our own apartment once we are married. My parents are aware that we have decided to find our own apartment and are adjusting their budget for when I move out next year. I currently make more than double the 125% above what is required to sponsor my fiancé, so I don't need a cosponsor. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Timeline Question	Hi all,   I know that the dates in the Processing Estimates/Stats is just an estimate, and could go up or down, based on if or when other members update their own timelines or if new members join and create a timeline, but what does the date given for adjudication actually mean? Does it mean the estimated date of approval from the service center processing the petition, or does it mean that this is the date that the NVC will have sent the approved petition over to the embassy by.  I know we have just submitted our petition in August, and we have a lot of time to go yet, but the time does seem to be passing quickly or at least it does feel like it on some days.   Processing Estimates/Stats : Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between December 13, 2011 and December 25, 2011*.   Thank you, Kimberly	KimberlyAhmed	Female	Tunisia	2011-09-15 07:51:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Documents to submit at interview	Hi everyone,   I have a some questions for the affidavit of support with the fiancé visa. We haven't gotten approval yet for the petition(still a while yet I know), but we want to be prepared before that happens.   1) My fiancé has a bank account in his name in Tunisia. It does not have much money in it, but we want to know if he should include this with my affidavit of support documents that he will bring to his interview. He has been saving for his plane ticket, visa fees and medical exam. Any left over afterwards, he will be trying to covert the money to bring with him when he moves here.   2) I make well above the 100%, should I include my bank accounts and letters from the bank. One is a checking that has my paycheck automatically deposited and where all my bills are paid out of and the other is a savings account that does not have that much in savings right now.  I have read the various topics on this forum and I am just trying to make sure I include what he will need or might need if asked about a document.   This is what I would be including:   Affidavit of support I-134 Letter from my employer stating my position, job duties and my salary. W-2's for 2009 and 2010. Tax Transcripts for 2009 and 2010. Pay stubs 2 years   3) I have a 401K, should I list that as an asset. I wrote a letter explaining that my date was not set correctly(didn't know that it wasn't) and when the pictures printed out they had a date in 2007 on the back, when in fact were taken in March/April of this year. A friend or family member just "saying" what it says will not be sufficient unless they are otherwise allowed to do so for government purposes. Its quick, easy, and cheap but you will need it. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Age of Police Certificate	Age of Police Certificate   My fiancé is worried about the age of his police certificate. When we submitted our petition in August, he started to gather the documents he needed for the interview(we are positive we will receive the approval NOA2). He has his birth certificate, passport and police certificate and then proceeded to have these items translated by his uncle. I said that his uncle really needed to include with each translation a dated letter stating he is fluent in English and Arabic, which he is as his uncle is a English teacher in one of the universities in Tunisia. I also said that the date of the translation should be closer to when the interview date is.   My question is, if we receive the NOA2 soon or even early next year say January or February and he gets an interview for early next year, should he get a new police certificate closer to the time of the interview. He did tell me that the processing of the police certificate in his town is very slow and could take a month. The first one is dated for August. Ours was received on August 15 in Vermont, so I called today and offically they said my petition was within the normal processing time, as they are working on peittions received July 10. I was told to call back in 36 to 40 days. The processing times on here are just estimates based on when people update their timelines, so it can be somewhat diheartening when you hear that the dates are not what you thought they were. How we met, what are plans are for the future, where we were planning and when to get married(tentative), details of honeymoon to take and where we were going to live. I also included things my fiance plan to do once he is here. I did include not only pictures of when I was there of the two of us, but ones with his family, phone bills, emails we wrote back and forth, letters and chat logs. He has a complete copy of the petition and documentation that was sent in with it.   I realized that what was sent in for the petition was my original certified copy of my birth certificate(one with the seal). Should I have go ahead and get a new certified copy and send it to my fiancé or can he ask them for it at the interview and give them the copy he has.   NOA1 & NOA2- Does he need the originals of these for the interview or is copies ok. This was what I had told him to put because we were not sure exactly what our address would be.   I have been looking for apartments and planned on moving into either right before he moves here or right after if it wasn’t available yet. The place we really wanted has a waiting list, but I have looked at other ones just in case this one did not become available. Well yesterday I called the one we want and I was told we are at the top of the waiting list and should have an apartment by April/May, but they could not tell me which one. Since we don’t know the exact address yet, should my fiancé say in his interview that we will live in this other city or just go with my current address, as he might get here before the apartment is truly available   I know if I do move in before his interview I should file a change of address and he can then state that address.
