i got the NOAs, im waiting on the biometrics letter

Most people have been getting them at 7-10 days...BUT, some people do get it anywhere between 1-3 weeks....USCIS says to wait 30 days before making an inquiry...hang in there...you will not see an update for bio on their site...it will just come.

I know...waiting sucks ;( I just want my AP so I can go visit my family back home....

I want to go visit my family too. But were so close to our interview we are just waiting until after to go.
I'm hoping to surprise them for either Canadian thanks giving or xmas!

Hope everyone hears some news this week!

Glad everything went so quickly for you!! Congratulations on your marriage!

I hope things are still processing quickly in October when I file!

YAY! for the Great Plains..LOL! You won't be too far from me, I am heading to Nebraska next month!

Thank you very much!! I think over all processing is speeding up. I know I've read many things about them wanting to make it faster for everyone.

Yay for Nebraska! I've only been there once but it's really close! Are you living there?

Starburst-I will be living there by the end of September! kicking.gif kicking.gif

darnit Im horrible with quoting...LOL

hahah!!

The plains are such a HUGE difference for me! Coming from Toronto to Sioux Falls, SD was like a culture shock!

The one advantage is it's cheaper! good.gif

The downside is that I have to drive ALL the way to St.Paul, MN for my interview (4 hours from here)

I have heard that Omaha has a kick #### zoo though!!

Yes it is a much lower cost of living! Homes are much more affordable than where I live right now. I heard the zoo is great too, its supposed to be the best in the country!

Eeek I am sorry you have to drive so far for your interview!! Why wouldn't they just send you to Omaha?? That's only 2.5 hours away!! I heard Omaha has a field office that does AOS interviews?!?!? Humm maybe different states have different jurisdiction?

Well on the bright side if my fiance was still living in ND.....we would have had to travel 8 hours to St. Paul if we had an AOS interview! 16 hours of driving! Not to mention 4 hours of driving to Fargo just to get fingerprinted!! ...another 8 hours of driving:wacko:

Yeah homes are insanely cheap here! The house we really are looking at getting built is only around $150k for a 3 bedroom!

I def need to visit the zoo sometime!

I was honestly hoping they would send me to Omaha, but then I looked up the USCIS office and the St.Paul Office serves MN,ND & SD.

ack 8 hours to St.Paul! I would die! My husband is NOT a fan of driving so we booked a hotel room the night before our interview literally right
across the street from the office. So we plan to drive up the night before so we are at least breaking up the roundtrip drive.

I was really scared that I would have to drive to St.Paul for fingerprints, but lucky me they have a office downtown here!

I can't believe I never saw this post before!!

Well I'm Star and I applied for my AOS June 26th/09. You can see my siggy for how it's been processing
but it seems to be going really fast! Less then 90 days from NOA1 to Interview date.

I just got my EAD card this past friday and applied for my SSN yesterday so hopefully that'll come soon!

I'm originally from Toronto, my husband is from south dakota (big difference!!).
We got married last march! We are planning a big ceremony & reception next June though in Toronto with
all our family & friends. I can't wait for it!

Right now I'm just applying for jobs & preparing my evidence for the interview (i'm way too organized!)

I hope everyone's AOS journey is a fast one! good.gif

While I found the paperwork to be a bit of a pain, I found the waiting period to be a lot easier than for the K1... it goes by so quickly!

I'm happy to report that my EAD came at the perfect moment. I got my work permit on Saturday in the mail and the job I was interviewing for offered me the position yesterday and I accepted today! I don't even get to collect unemployment from Canada tongue.gif

Congrats!!! I'm hoping to find a job soon. I've been applying like mad!
I hope my SSN comes soon as well!

Hey Star....welcome! We both post in the July thread too! Glad things are rolling for you smile.gif

I'm a couple weeks behind you, and hoping to see my AP and EAD in the next couple weeks...

So far no touches since my bio appmnt...

I've been reading all this stuff on the outside forums on package preparation...binders...clips...etc...I never put so much thought into it..I did use a whole lot of paper clips...here's to hoping i didn't piss anyone off on a Monday morning....lol...

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I used A LOT of stuff. I'm talking tons. I used paper clip to separate the application from the evidence then each "type" of evidence I sent it was separated, then each "package" I sent in had one big monster clip. So In total, I had 3 big clips (one for I-130, one for I-485 & one to hold the entire thing together) and then I would say another 30+ paper clips for everything in between!

I bet in the next week or so you'll hear about your EAD. They seem to be moving fairly quickly

CanadaFrustrated with trying to get money to the US!
When we had our wedding, I sent my dad money from the US for $20 (via my bank) and he sends me money down the same way (for xmas, birthdays ect.)

He uses Scotia bank if that helps. Takes two days!

Does the NOA1 for the ROC not serve as an extension for a year?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTravelling during ROC
Hey everyone,

Tomorrow my ROC package will be mailed (we were able to mail it on June 24th/11).

My questions is, from August 27th to September 11th I will be out of the country in Europe. A friend is getting married and I'm heading over there with a friend from Canada to celebrate and do some travelling.

My husband will be remaining home however.

Could this be a bad idea, with my ROC in progress? I most likely will have my bio in July, and my local office allows
walk ins so I should have that done quickly. I didn't worry about an RFE's because my husband is home and can deal with.

Should I worry at all?

Last time (about two weeks ago) when I came through customs the officer warned me not to travel close to my green card expiration date (why, I don't know).

Thanks everyone! :)

Anyone travel with only their GC and NOA?
My wife was questioned by the Airlines while leaving US that she needed the stamp in the passport or NOA notice, but when we call USCIS they say she only needs NOA and the GC...

Anyone else have any recent experience traveling? Just little nervous here.

Our package is just about ready to go! I just need to assemble the piles of stuff I have!

Question: Does anyone think it would be a bad idea for me to go on vacation in late August/September overseas while ROC is in progress? I'm highly doubting that we'll get called for an interview, but I don't want to assume we won't either.

I'm about to book my tickets (the hubby is staying here though, I'm going with a friend so he can check the mail, deal with any RFE's ect.)
