K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApproval Notice - What is this? What do I do now?
How do I know what documents and forms to put together for the interview?

hi! below is the post i read from one of the vj member..this is what u will do after u got approved..

5 business days after you receive your NOA2, call the NVC(NVC IS the Dept of State) at 603-334-0700, give them your USCIS receipt number and they will give you your case number it will be MNLXXXXXXXXXXX, this will be your DOS case number going forward, ask them if they have sent your case to Manila yet, if they have not yet, call back everyday until they tell you they have. They send your case electronically same day, and it usually takes about 4 days for them to DHL the hard copy to the Embassy in Manila, however once they send it electronically, you can start calling for an interview appointment, as it will be in the system. Once you call into the call center and make an appt, you can go for your Medical, as the call center will send you an email verifying your interview appt print this out, along with a copy of your NOA2 to your interview. I have heard of people going to medical, and just giving there MNL case number...you can try, but I cant verify if this is accurate or not!

So the procedure is, wait 3-5 business days after your NOA2, call the NVC, get your MNL case number, then start calling to schedule your interview, once you have done this, they will send you an email with your interview appointment verification, then go for your Medical.

Receipt date is your NOA1 date
Approval date is your NOA2, so this is your NOA2, and the next process, CSC will send the petition to NVC , you can call NVC to make sure if they have received your case or have not, after some days on NVC, NVC will forward your case to embassy in beneficiary's country, u can also read this http://www.visajourn.../content/k1flow :)

Thank you so much!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApproval Notice - What is this? What do I do now?
Help please I am new to this. I hope I am posting this correctly.

I just received this, it says; Notice Type: Approval Valid from 11/18/2010 to 03/17/2011, Notice dated November 18, 2010 WHAT IS THIS? & WHAT AM I TO DO WITH IT?
It says Receipt Date: June 30, 2010, I think that is when they received my I-129F package at the California Service Center, is that correct?
The only number on this is the Receipt Number; WAC - XX - XXX - XXXXX

There is no Priority Date on this, should there be?

How do I know or how can I find out if the NVC has our application packet?

How do I know or how can I find out when it is sent to the US Embassy in Manila?

How do I get this NVC case number I read about on the posts?

We are so confused, please help us!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1

Hope below might help you.. :)

***Financial Documents/Evidence of Support****
From: Karen's Blog :-)_VJ Member 070809

=You need SIX basic things to complete this evidence to "substantiate the I-134."=
1. The two-page I-134 form, completed by your Fiancé and notarized.
2. US Federal Income Tax Return or Form 1040. I found that this has different versions, depends on whether your Fiancé completed his form manually or electronically.
3. Wage Statement or Form W2.
4. Employment letter stating salary.
A signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position
5. Bank statement.
6. Pay stubs. Although not part of the requirement, it has been suggested many times as supporting docs . (Most Recent pay stubs)
(Reminders, because these are very important files, please do make it a point to photocopy, he also scanned all these documents)

=========================================================================================

***Additional Supporting documents***
1. Original and updated letter of intent to marry
(This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).)
2. Copy of fiancé passport with stamp and Boarding pass
3. Copy of airline ticket
4. Copy of NOA1 and NOA2
5. Letters received from your fiancée including envelope with postal stamp.
6. Copy of engagement receipt
7. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).
8.Copy emails, chat logs & phone calls

CORRECTION!
Check the I-134 Instructions - Section: Execution of Affidavit it says " (Note: Signing Form I-134 is under penalty of perjury under U.S law). For this reason, it is not necessary to sign Form I-134 before a notary, nor to have your signature notarized after you sign it."

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes the USA have any onward bound ticket requirements?
I don't think I've read anything about this, since my last experience here in Manila without an onward bound ticket...

Does my Fiancee traveling to the USA on a K1 Visa need one? Just checking to be sure.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCEAC Barcode number, What is this?

I believe that is generated when the DS-160 is completed online. The DS-160 is not used for K- visas in Manila. The DS-156, 156k and 157 are still being used in Manila. Perhaps you should post your question in the Philippine Forum. maybe someone will be able to help.

So for the Interview here in Manila for the K1 Visa, I can just ignore, forget about, not do the DS-160?
Thank you so much for your help.

Mine was sent the same day too. We have all the forms filled out and ready to go. She is going Monday to put the money in her BPI account and then pay the fee later. With the transition will we be able to make the appointment after the fee is paid or will I have to call a bunch to get scheduled?
Sorry for the hijack.

My asawa is going to try and pay on Monday also.
Can she do it with just the copy of NOA2 and having the MNL number (we do not have any printed doc with the MNL on it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPhone confirmation from NVC case sent to Manila 11/30/2010

you ask now what. well tell your fiancee to get ready to spend about a hundred dollars on phone calls to the embassy . asking them why if they have your file you can not schedule a interview.

they will tell you your case is not ' complete' they have your papers , but are not ready to schedule you. call them over and over a gain . make sure they know how much you have spent on the pin numbers calling.

thats what finally did it for us. i told the guy that i spend 120 dollars on phone calls and i will not be spending anymore. he said ok i guess we can give you interview date now!

anyways you are close, gl

thank you!! but my interview dis coming dec 8th..its okie that i wil create a letter for intent not my fiance.. i dont have time if he send a letter in fed ex...

I agree you should try to get a signed letter via Fedex. This is only a suggestion, but perhaps he could email you his intent to marry you.
It would not be the same as a letter of intent, but if he explains that he forgot it, perhaps the CO will consider it.
It sure beats walking in there empty handed. Or have him do the letter and fax it to you, at least that way you would have a signed copy.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSome Questions

is the email confirmation letter the one that u get after scheduling for an interview?
what is packet 3? will USEM in manila send this to me?
should we have our I-134 & employment letter notarized?
do i need to have the ORIGINAL NOA2 for medical/interview or a scanned copy id fine?

I am applying the following terminology:
"Authorization Letter", in my case an email message telling me I could schedule.
"Confirmation Letter", the one that confirms the appointment date for the interview.
What is packet 3 - I don't know.
Will USEM send it - I don't know
I-134 notarized - since you sign it under penalty of perjury, it does not have to be notarized, or so I am told
Financial documents supplied by others, I am having them notarize them, I do not know if you have to.
Original NOA2 for medical - I hope a copy is good, that is all that I have.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 Finally Approved!

Here's a quick question for those who have taken their medical exam already at St. Luke's Medical Center in Manila. Can my fiancee take her medical exam with only our NOA2, passport, and passport picture on hand? We haven't receive a notice yet that our file has been forwarded to the US Embassy in Manila, so I was just wondering if we can take only those requirements to the medical exam?

Cheers,
Bryan

I am interested in the answer to your question also, and How many hours does it take from the time you walk in the door? Day 1? and Day 2?
(Typical/average, minus early bird time, standing in line)
Need to schedule pick up and drop off with the driver.

Hi guys. I just want to share the relief that we finally got our NOA2. It has been a long wait. So I am asking for any good advise and friendly suggestion as to what to do next after NOA2? Are there things that I can do to prepare earlier so that the rest of the process will be smoothn and quicker?

This forum and site has been a treasure of information. Thank you to all who contributed and shared their experiences to help those that are in need of guidance.

Good luck to us all.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureslawyer or not

hello, I'm a newbie :) hoping Visajourney and people here can help me and my bf. We're done filling-out I-129F, made Fiance(e) Letter of Intent for both parties, completed G-325A, Cover Letter...in short we're almost done, we're just in the process of gathering all evidences like boarding pass, passport stamps, plane tickets, chat logs and pictures so I can mail it to him same with the signed docs. But my bf is still thinking of getting a lawyer just to make sure that process will be smooth. He has a friend who works in a law firm and he offered to help us though I'm not sure how's the process gonna be with a lawyer since I've been using VisaJourney as my guide. His friend is just afraid that I might have a hard-time with the interview it's actually pretty cheap like $200.00, any advices please if we still need a lawyer or not....really appreciate it

http://www.visajourn...10#entry4351910

Just follow the directions, it's all on here.
I really don't see how a lawyer can help you at the interview. If your fiance's financial stuff is standard, tax returns and W-2's, and you have a real relationship, proof of that.
I'd tell him to keep the money and spend it on you when you get there...LOL

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNEED ADVICE

hi vj, we have a problem we really need some help/advice... I mailed all documents to my fiance (in the Philippines) that she needs for interview through USPS express mail but they returned it to me after five days and it was all opened to my shock and some important items are missing like my iteneraries, original copies of plane tickets, hotel reciepts, boarding pass, letters and cards she sent me, receipt of engagement ring etc. what's left to me now are the only copies of these, but im still confuse what to do and how to retrieve this items, Im really hoping they haven't destroyed it or something like that... and by the way this package was not able to leave the country then it was returned to me. also can i still used or show the copy that i made for her interview?

USPS turns it over to the Philippines postal service and everyone here knows how unreliable they are, a lesson I learned the hard way.
That is why I am shocked that the US Embassy is relying on the Philippine postal service to delivery letters telling people that they can schedule their interview appointments.
If I had waited for a letter in the mail here in the Philippines to schedule, I would still be waiting.
FedEx is the only one I will trust.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresplease help me...lawyer is confusing me

Ok so I printed out all the papers to mail to uscis but my mother spoke to a lawyer and he says I must wait to fil my taxes for this yr before I can fle the petition. I thought I could mail this first as it doesn't contain info on my income. The affada vit of support is not mailed until later right? Please advise I'm so confused. I want to get the process under way since it takes so long and I cnt file taxes until feb

Everyone I have spoken with that has consulted a lawyer has gotten incorrect information, that does not mean there aren't some good ones out there,
but this process is not so complicated that a person needs one.
Just follow the advice you find here, there are people here that give incorrect information, but others will usually correct them.
Read on.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHi Everyone! New to this whole procedure and a bit nervous

All that's required for the initial petition is proof of meeting and a few pictures. You don't need to include conversations--that's relationship stuff he can take to the interview, and they probably won't care. With some consulates, it's good to "front load" with a lot of evidence of a bonafide relationship, but London isn't one of them. Make your petition streamlined and orderly. It might just catch someone's eye as an easy petition to process.

Copies of the passport stamps is fine; I did mine in color and enlarged so the stamps were very clear. Receipts and that sort of thing is secondary evidence and not so useful. If you've got the passport stamps, you are fine. Passport stamps, boarding passes=very good. Itineraries/receipts=not solid evidence.

Awesome, I will be able to make a copy of my Visa I got previously for my first visit there and then I have another passport stamp from my second visit, should I get his passport stamp to here because i stated we saw each other here in the united states too? I have plenty of pics though that I will include, do I have to put those in a plastic bag as well and state what they are ??? Also, with the G325 Form A, with my residence, what if I lived in London at a University/Daniel (fiancee) home? I have to put that in there right?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHi Everyone! New to this whole procedure and a bit nervous

Right, what Inky means is that you should write "See Supplement Page Titled Blah Blah Question 18" or whatever in the space provided on the form, so they are directed immediately to your additional sheet, titled the way you said it would be. Let that be all that's written in the space on the form.

Then on the additional sheet, keep the explanation simple, with a brief description of the meeting that you will be proving in your evidence with passport stamps and boarding passes if you have them. You don't have to build up evidence of your relationship, just prove the meeting in the past 2 years.

Thank you for clarifying :) Should I show proof of our conversations as well? And if so how should I do that? And am I allowed to just use copies of my passport stamps and can I just print out receipts from my trips of us staying together. Do I need his as well? This is all coming together and I'll be honest I'm not sure if he kept his visit information to here in June.

so, I'm filling this out and explained a lot on Question 18, explaing the time we met and times after that in the past two years, just to be on the safe side. It went over, so do I just use a blank sheet stating this at the top:

mark additional sheet as "I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18: Has your Fiance(e) met and seen you)

I just want to make sure I can use a blank sheet of paper for that or not :) and thanks for the example sheet, it really does help!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHi Everyone! New to this whole procedure and a bit nervous
Hi everyone! My name is Kristin and I'm a bit nervous but glad I got this website from someone. I'm currently looking into the process for the k-1 visa, have a british boyfriend and we plan on getting married sometime next year. I've been looking into the entire process and have a couple questions.

1. Is the price $1805, the cost of the entire process including the petition and other costs with the visa when your fiancee does their part?
2. He wants to visit here, meet the family some more and have us get the marriage/living/etc things sorted, he'd only visit for a week and a half or two, and I'm curious if this is actually possible for him to do? I know that with the K-1 visa he can only arrive in the U.S. once, he has to arrive 6 months after the visa is issued and we have to be married with 90 days of that. I was just wondering about before when I was sending in the petition and that?

Thank you so much and I'm sure you'll be hearing a lot more from me in the future!

Best,
Kristin

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshelp with the K1 packet please, question on addresses needed
yeah i was like i dont like leaving those there in case they think i just sort of skipped over it so, i'll leave it blank and put the N/A in when I print them out. This is all a bit nervewracking, but i want to get his signature on everything so i can do it as quickly as possible when i get home from this trip here in the UK. I appreciate your help !!!

Mine did that too, what I did was left it blank and wrote N/A in pen after I printed it out.

Cus its not applicable at the time. I was too nervous to leave the zeros on it lol

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshelp with the K1 packet please, question on addresses needed
I thought that would be alright, as the fiance is currently playing a video game and sort of answering questions, I know he hasn't seen his father in a very long time so thought I'd get that question out of the way :) also, on that form again (i know, sorry about all the questions but as soon as I get home I will be sending this off) when I try to put None for the File Number A: and the Alien Registration Number, it goes to all zeroes when I tab over, is that supposed to do that?

Put unknown.
If you don't know where he is etc.

My form had unknown for most of the father information and had no issues with it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshelp with the K1 packet please, question on addresses needed
Thank you very much!!! I also have another quick question, with the G-325 forms, where they need the fathers country of residence, if its unknown now, can I put N/A? Or do I have to know that? I noticed just under the Country of Birth for the father it says if known, not under the country of residence box. thanks :)

Don't put the London embassy address.

The important part is saying you intend to marry. The formalities of the letter format are secondary. If you are looking at the VJ sample letter, they are covering two instances of letters with one example.

First instance:
Addressed to the USCIS as part of the i-129F petition process. It will be perfectly fine if your letters just have the name of the government department who handles petitions, without their address. Example:

United States Department of Homeland Security
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

Second instance of a letter of intent:
After the petition is approved and the fiance applies for a visa at the embassy in their country. It's suggested by VJ to write new letters of intent. The second time it would be going to the embassy, hence the embassy address note. In your specific case, London doesn't require or expect new letters of intent so you'll only be doing it for the petition.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshelp with the K1 packet please, question on addresses needed
Oh so I can leave it blank? that works out then, so I will put the London US Embassy address because he's in the UK then correct? I put that one on the letter already . . .

You don't know which office you are getting. You don't need to put an address on the letters.

1. You send your packet to a sorting center in Dallas and then from there it gets sent wherever they send it to be looked at.

2. You put the US embassy that you will be interviewing at.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresevidence of meeting?
so I'm looking at this as I'm wanting to send this out tomorrow after getting my passport photo, and I have my boarding passes going into London, will those be alright if i make copies of them? do i have to show my return ticket as well? and well I'm not sure if you can find your itinerary for your past trips because he cannot find his boarding pass for his last visit here in february. bit bummed about that and I'm wondering if it's going to cause a problem or not? i have emailed to see if they can send me them in an email and i can just print them out but haven't heard anything from the airline yet. I also have a lot of pictures, and I want to keep my originals as i only have one so i can make copies, but do they have to be on photo paper??? also, we have a lot of skype phone calls - does anyone know how to print out a log of the phone calls between us??? i dont want to print out all of it cause its got to be a whole lot of paper that I'm sure they don't want to go through. thank you !!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresevidence of meeting?
I was feeling really crappy today today so all I got to do was make copies, get my passport picture done, and figure out mostly everything. I wanted to get a couple extra things from Daniel so we're going to send it off tomorrow before I go to work. I will probably choose the overnight mailing so they'll get it right away, so then I will use the Lewisville address correct? I want to have overnight, and be able to track it and see a signature as well. I want to double check and I can send photocopies of all my boarding passes/hotel bill/credit card and bank statements. I have highlited on the copies my name, the dates and the places that were where Daniel is from that say when it was used. :) I have the originals that I think I'll have to send off to daniel as well as another copy for when he needs it for his interview yes??

Sorry, I thought you were already on your way to the airport post office when I looked earlier so didn't reply. It looks good. Did you write a statement of meeting in person as an addition to Q 18?

On the overnight mailing: the address won't be the same PO Box that Priority mail goes to in Dallas. It will be the physical address in Lewisville. Check your addresses

Okay, I am about to go and get my passport picture done and then taking everything to the airport. Here is what I have.

I-129F Cover Letter
Check paperclipped to cover letter!!! *edited*
G-1145 Form
I-129F
G-325A & passport pic (me)
G-325A & passport pic (daniel)
copy of all pages of my passport
Letters certifying intent to marry - both of us
Proof of having met in the past 2 years - hotel bill, bank statement with highlited info of places where he is from (same for credit card statement), credit card statement, pictures, his itinerary for flights here, and boarding passes from my visits there with dates on them.

Can I staple the I-129F form as its 3 pages long? not sure if i should keep it seperate or not. I am also going to go for next day for delivery at the post office and sending it to the

USCIS
