Hi Knight3131,

Please fill out your timeline to help you and to help other VJ members. I have read at some government website, I can not remember right now. I will try to find it or maybe another member knows where it is at. That if there are two or more petitions that get approved, they will honor the last one. :D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS-230

Hi rncarterjm,

Thats depend on the service center you are in.

Hi rosyanne,

I am missing something here, what does sending the DS-230 part 1 after receiving packet 3 for a K-1 petition from the U.S. Embassy in Jamaica have to do with the service center? The Vermont service center approved the K-1 petition and they forward it to the NVC which in turn sent it to the U.S. Embassy in Jamaica. This is out of the hands of the service center or am I missing something that I do not know about? I wish you would clarify?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS-230
Hi Rebekah, :D

Some U.S. Embassy’s in other countries require a checklist and a copy of the beneficiary’s passport along with the DS-230 part 1, maybe Jamaica does not. In any case the Embassy in Jamaica has a cut-off date if they received your DS-230 before that cut-off date then you will have the interview the next month. If they received it after the cut-off date you will have the interview the month after that. I suggest that your fiancé and you get all the documents, paperwork and everything else done ASAP and mail to him the I-129F package, I-134 with all the paperwork required and everything else. Things really move quickly now.

Hi Irishgirl73, :D

Denise sent hers almost a whole year before you. She did not send it in 2006; she sent hers in 1/27/2005. You are lucky you are at VSC if you were at CSC/TSC you would die. My suggestion is that you e-mail them and/or call them because according to your timeline your I-129f should have been adjudicated as early as 1/17/06. Have you called or e-mail them? What did they say? Good luck and I hope the best for you because I know that waiting sucks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F to NVC from CSC
Hi Craig, B)

It took 8 working days for my K-1 petition to get to NVC from CSC. To get my hard copy NOA2 it took over two weeks remember this happen through the holidays.

You can not use the automated service at NVC; you must speak with a customer service representative every time because K-1’s do not stay at NVC too long, so they do not get inputted into the automated system. Just give them a call and see what they tell you. They will tell you if they received it or not. Good luck my friend.

Hi Randy,

Check the I-129F package, and then re-check it and when you think it is perfect re-check it. Send it through USPS Express overnight like that you can track-it and know who sign for it. The one bad news is that you are going through the worst service center CSC/TSC but the quicker you start the process the quicker you finish. Congratulations and the best of luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 Affidavit of Support
Hi Andy,

I am a C.P.A. so I know what I am taking about. First of all the I.R.S. and everybody in the world knows that you already have the W-2 because it is a law that all companies must mail out by January 31, every year that W-2’s. So do not say what “scorpio232”, told you to say.

Now you have until April 15, 2006, to file your tax returns. If your interview is before April 15, 2006, then you take to the interview the tax returns for 2002, 2003 and 2004.

"If the petitioner has not yet filed a federal income tax return for the most recent year, then tax returns from the three years prior to the most recent year must be submitted and the extension filed for the last year's income tax”. The reason for this statement is that if it is after April 15, 2006, and you have not file your tax returns it mean in order to comply with the law you would have had to file an “extension”. For example, if your interview is May 1, 2006, and you did not file your tax returns for the year 2005. You would have to take to the interview the tax returns for 2002, 2003, 2004 and the “extension for 2005. I hope you understand if you have any questions feel free to contact me.

If you file the tax return for 2005 then you take the tax returns for 2003, 2004 and 2005!

Regards,

Peter Miami
