Stay on their backs it could be that it reached the Embassy but it is not in their computers yet. It might still be in the mailroom or some other places. Continue to call, e-mail, fax and everything else.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThey kept my fiancees packet!!!
Hi Neal,

Johanna my fiancée just had her interview last Friday she took originals and copies of everything. I told her to show the original tax returns with W2, bank statements and pay stubs but then to give them the copies and get the originals back but the CO would not do that. They kept the original even though we had exact copies. I do not understand this because a lot of people do not even take original, they take copies. And I even sent the I.R.S. transcripts and a million other stuff.

The rest of the original stuff I do not care because I can get it back but not Tax Returns with W2 and pay stubs (1 year).

Good luck,

Contact your consulate and see what is required. He would have to give permission for her to move and for the passport as far as I know.

Hi Billy,

It seems from what you wrote that you did everything correctly and that you are divorce. Make sure to document everything in your new I-129F package and you should be alright unless there is something that you have not stated i.e. that you got arrest for domestic violence or something to that nature against your x-wife. But if you did nothing wrong you should be alright.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJust Started K1, But Long Range Question

If you're married technically you can't enter on the K1. Well you could enter by saying your not married, but then getting married again to stay would be tough.

Best bet is to have a ceremony in the Philippines that is not a legal wedding. This way her family could enjoy it, and she's still able to use a K1. I don't know the law there, but as long as it's not considered a legal marriage your fine then.

Then when she gets to the USA go to the justice of the peace and make it legal.

Or you could go back to the Philippines once you have married here and I have a wedding there for her family and friends.

My fiancée and I will have a Civil wedding here and a Catholic Church wedding in Colombia once she can travel. Hope this helps.

Good luck,

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTimelines

Hi Everyone,
I recently applied for a 129F for my fiance at the Vermont Service Center. I checked my bank account a couple of days ago and the check had been cashed. I looked at the check and printed on the back in the signature area was my case number. So i went online to the USCIS website and clicked on the online case status. When i put in my number i was really surprised to see that it said Case Status: Approved. My question is, what stage of the process does this put me at? (1st NOA, 2nd NOA, etc...)

How do I know when the next step is going to be processed?

Also the mail is really slow where I live (It's University owned housing with a central post office, which means after its delivered it has to go through a whole other sort and delivery process which can take up to 2 weeks) What will I get in the mail that I will need to continue the process?

Thanks for any help!

Ben

Approved is NOA2

Your application will be forwarded to the NVC where it will be assigned a case number and then sent to the consulate where the visa interview will take place. You will get a letter from NVC once they have assigned the case number.

Ditto.

Peter Miami

2 weeks??? I am SO jealous now. I sent my application in 12/8 & haven't heard a thing.

I am so happy for you but man I am angry at the same time

what did you send in with your petition? hope you don't mind me asking.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhen do I send I-134

Hello everyone,

Well, my petition was approved yesterday (e-mail notification) and now I am beginning to gather the required documents to send my fiancee. After receiving the NOA2 in the mail, when should I send these documents to my fiancee? Should I send them immediately or wait a little while?

Ronn

I sent my fiancée all the paperwork while the K-1 petition was going to NVC.

Good luck,

Peter Miami

I have a couple more questions regarding the I-134. Will it look better if I have more money in my savings account instead of my checking account. I can transfer money from my checking account into my savings account if necessary. Moreover, I do own a small amount of stock that I trade on an Internet brokerage service. Will it be worthwhile to print a summary of my stocks from my online account and include this with my financial information?

Thanks.

Ronn

If you meet 125% over the poverty line you do not need to disclose anymore information unless you want to, then go ahead.

oh taking wedding pics PRIOR to marriage is a custom in HK. People in here usually take pics LONG BEFORE they really get married.

let me tell u a bit more... it's like 2 people wearing in those 'wedding costumes' to take some beautiful pics inside/outside

so... maybe i shouldnt show them a few of those pics?

Definitely do NOT show those pics...Don't show them to any government employee anywhere. And don't bring them in your luggage when she enters the US...

Hate to give people the wrong idea...

I agree do not show does pics to any government employee.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresReady to file I-129F

Hi Everyone..my name is April and my fiance Raymond is from Holland..I will be filing our form next week. I was wondering if it would be safe to visit him after I receive the NOA2 in the mail..will they be sending me any other information, to my understanding the rest will mostly be on his end after I send him the the I-134 and the other documents to him...I just don't want any delays and I'm nervous about leaving the USA incase they need additional information...but I would like to visit him because this may take several months. We are using the VCS, which doing research seems to be faster....Any advice would be appreciated...Thank You

You should be alright since you got the NOA2. Go on vacation and have fun with your fiancé.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresi -129 f approved
Hi Jon,

Congratulations fellow petitioner going through the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá, Colombia you could look at my timeline and get an idea. Remember no two K-1 fiancée visa petitions are exactly the same.

Your petition goes to NVC and it might take about two weeks. From NVC it goes to the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá this usually takes about four day.

There are short-cuts that you can take once the petition gets to Bogotá. But the first thing you do is to call NVC every once in a while make sure you speak with a customer service representative and not the automated system, K-1’s stay less than two weeks and they do not put them in the system. When you call NVC get your case number and ask them when they will sent the petition out. Once you know that date call back on that date and make sure that they sent it out. Then you track the package through www.dhl.com. I will give you the instruction later.

Once the petition gets to the Embassy you or your fiancée faxes and sends by courier (Servientrega); a copy of your fiancées passport, OF-169, DS-2001 and DS-230 part 1. If the Embassy gets these documents before the cut-off date (varies from month to month 16th to the 20th) then you get the interview the following month. If not by the cut-off date you get the interview the month after that.

After the NOA2 every thing moves fast so you need to make sure your fiancée and you get all the documents, paperwork, and all other stuff ready and send it to her. If you have any questions private message (PM) me and I will answer them or you can call me so that I can explain any questions you have.

Good luck,

Peter Miami

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan fiance visit during process?

The tough thing about visiting during the K1 process is that your fiance needs to prove that he really intends to go over for just a visit and will be returning home to finish the visa process. He should bring evidence to the airport of this. Something like an apartment lease, a job contract, etc. Anything that proves ties to the Netherlands. I think that you should be fine, I don't think he's coming from a high risk country or anything, so I would think that he should probably be ok, but be prepared for the possibility that he will be turned away because they think he intends to bypass the visa process.... Good Luck!!

ditto.

Thanks aussiewench I tried that but it will not give me old threads. For example I was trying to find a couple of threads from VJ members going through the U.S. Embassy in Bogotá, Colombia that had written some information I could use but I only got threads going back to late January I believe. And the members that have not posted since January or December I can not get their threads.

Sorry guys I hit wrong button before replying on last posts.

Was just going to say, my fiance had interview on Nov 15, and was placed on AR/AP on Nov.30 so its been nearly three months for us. It will take lots of patience on your part to get thru this if it drags out for very long. From reading others experience here on vj it can take from a few weeks to many months. I pray yours is speedy and successful.

Good luck

They put you on AR at the interview or did they approve your visa and then gave you an AR?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSupporting evidence
Hi loongphang,

I sent 30 pictures but I am an extremist, copy of all the pages in my passport, boarding pass/stubs, telephone and cellular bills (international telephone calls), internet calling, e-mails (hers and mine), wire transfers, money exchange receipts, hotel statements, credit cards statements, engagement ring receipt, and other stuff I can not even remember.

If you do not have boarding passes and other things like that, you can get them from your credit card bank if you paid by credit cards. If you flew through a big airline (American Airline, etc) you can get receipts from them.

Good luck,
