K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduressecurity checks

Does anyone know how to interpret this:

Our NOA-1 is dated November 4, and California Center is now working on December 31 already. So, when I inquired, they replied that out petition "is undergoing security checks, and there is no time limit" on that.

What could it mean? Is it just a standard response to any inquiry? Or, is it important, saying that the standard timeline of 90-120 days no longer applies to us??? Awkwardly, the response came at 3:52 AM Californian time. Is it a human or a computer that replies to emails?

Thanks to everyone who can share similar experience or shed some light on this.

Michael

Hi Michael,

If I was you I would wait about a week them e-mail them and then call they, to see what they say.

Good luck,

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurespolice certificates?

I just went through the AOS 10 days ago - Nope you do not need the police certificate after K1, but may need it for citizenship (after 3 years of residency.) Good Luck

DCF in KL will be the fastest way to go. As Miwa said, it took almost 3 months to get police certificate, so apply police certificate NOW, get married, and have I-130 interview at KL. You might be able to bring your wife back in 30 days or so. :) Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 interview...what to photocopy
I made three copies of everything; the I-129F package, the I-134 and all supporting documents and all my fiancées documents (DS-156, DS-156K, DS-230 and everything else). I have a copy my fiancée has 2 copies; one for the Embassy and one for her. Like this we have back-ups in case one or two copies are lost. Better save that sorry, I do not want to risk making this process any longer that it is already.

Good luck,

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresmistakes on I 129F & G325A

Hi folks,I am new here & would like some advice.

Our Petition has been excepted for a K-1 Visa and it will be a couple of months before it will be sent to manila NOA2 , yesterday I was looking at the Petition & noticed on the I 129F my fiancee`s 13 yr old sons bithdate ( he is not a party to the Petition ) was wrong . Also on the G235A , I think I might have not signed it.
What should I do ? or can do ?, we are NOA1 waiting for NOA2

contact them now before it goes to manila ( some kind of form to use or hand written letter ),

waite 2 see if they find it & notify me ( delay`s )

waite until it gets to manila & have Fiancee give them a letter with the corrections, if asked.

have fiancee give to the interviewer along with her folder & explain the problems ( maybe avoide being put on AR )

should these corrections be Notrized ?

other ??

thanks for your replys

Don't send anything into the service center without an RFE. Chances are any unrequested documents will not be matched up with your petition. If there is a problem with your petition the service centers will send an RFE. Wait for the RFE. If the data is still incorrect when Manila receives the petition then you should correct it with Manila.

Good advice.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Part B. Question

Put wherever your residence is. If you are just a visitor in the US right now then that isn't really your address, so I would say put your address abroad.

You could do that or you can put an address like your parents or family that you can trust and that they will keep you posted.

Good luck,

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWaiting for the K-1 use a tourist visa?

I would agree with those who say wait. You could possibly delay things for yourself and might have a hard time getting into the country if you try for a tourist visa at the same time as your K1. Best wishes for a speedy approval! :)

I agree.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134, Affidavit of Support

Hello I'm a bit confused and want to make sure I don't cause any delays in our K1 by not following instructions properly. I could use some friendly advise.

In the K1 instructions received from the consulate they ask for evidence of financial support by submitting an I-134. After that they ask you for a certified copy of your federal tax returns.

In the instructions for the I-134 it states "Evidence should consist of any or all of the following documentation listed below that are applicable to your situation." It then goes on to mention that I need written statements from my bank and employer.

Is all of that necessary if I'm already giving them a copy or transcript of my tax return?

If you want a K-1 fiancee visa to be together with your fiancee I would given them what they ask. Just because they ask for it might not mean they will look at it but would you like to take that chance. If you do not care then given them what you want!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresadvice on police certificates?

Here is my problem: my Chinese fiance has never registered at any of the places he lived since moving out of his parents' house. Does this mean we won't be able to get police certificates? I am worried that the visa will be denied since the US government cannot verify his criminal record. Is there any other evidence we can provide in lieu of the certificates? Will this problem be fixable????
any advice is greatly appreciated!!! thank you!!!!

I really do not know but you could try contacting the chinese police station and asking...???

Good idea use this for a starting point.

Hi Irishgirl,

My heart goes out to you, I wish there was something I could do to get your petition approved. I hate waiting and I know how much it sucks. The waiting for security reasons vary from what I have seen posters write. Some have had to wait 6 months while other have moved on before 6 months. Like everything else with immigration there is no logic.

Good luck,

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPics for G 325 A

Natashabrenda,

Pictures are not needed for G-325A - they are needed for the petition (just as the G-325A is needed for the petition).

The same style pictures will be needed for the child later on, when the child is applying for a visa.

Note, however, that in a K-visa situation, a petition is not required for the children.

Yodrak

Ok I will go tomorrow and get them passport style pics done ....
Nat
PS: Do I need some for my 5 year old too since he does not need a G 325 A??

The pictures are just put in a plastic bag or envelope after the G-325A on the I-129F petition.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A

hey Agape,
as a newb as well, I`m sure there are those here who can give advice from experience....

but when I was filling it out, I went with the logic of listing only the jobs which can be verified i.e. which are listed in my work document (in Croatia, all those capable of working have a little book in which all your full time registered jobs are listed and certified by the employer- those are the jobs I listed in G-325A)

All my freelancing jobs I didn`t list, since they were based on individual contracts and in Croatia, those do not constitute a full time, registered employement and they don`t appear in any of the employement documents other than the tax return.

I`m not sure if these two cents of mine help ....

Good advice!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSigh. Will this ever end?

We got our NOA2 on February 8. The USCIS web site says:

On February 14, 2006, this approved or re-affirmed case was shipped to the Department of State for visa processing. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Department of State.

That was two weeks ago. The NVC says that they haven't received it, and that it could take up to 90 days for them to receive it, but please feel free to call back and inquire NEXT month. I called back to inquire the next minute, got a different operator, and was told the same thing.

Is anyone else having delays getting their K-1 petition to go through (or even get to) NVC?

Your petition should arrive this week call them again by Thursday if you spoke with them today. Same thing happen to me and I wish I could have choke the guy over the telephone.
