K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTranslate love letters?

You have no time-line recorded so I'm going to assume that you're just in the I-129F application stage, correct?

For my supporting evidence, I have a ton of emails, instant messages, and love letters. Do I really have to get them all translated? Or is just having them evidence enough of our relationship? They're pretty intimate and it'd be a huge pain in the rear to get them translated. If anyone has any suggestions or experience with this kind of thing, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

You do not need to submit any of this "stuff" for the I-129Fpetition. Save all this stuff for the interview. Having said that however, typically only documents such as birth certificates and divorce documents need to be translated.

You do not need to translate the types of relationship evidence that you described, typically.....

For the petition you need to submit solid evidence that you and your fiancee have met within the past two years; that you and she are eligible to marry (submit divorce decrees, death certificates, etc.) and that the petitioner is a U.S. Citizen.

Hey kaydee457,

I don't want to start conflict, nor be rude, but i must say that:

your pictures (that you put on your signature) are really lame!

you have to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh. He is evil!

Why Ryan,

Who are you to say that? I happen to like and agree with does pictures. No one ask you for advice or commentary on her opinion or choice politically. Stay with the topic, if want to be a political commentator buy some air time on a radio station or go to a political blog.

Hi Sleepybears,

I think you have almost everything covered there is just one thing that I believe might be wrong or you wrote it wrong. The DS-156, DS-156K and maybe DS-230 should be original and you sign them in front of the CO/clerk in the Embassy. One of the DS-156 you took to the doctors but the other original should go to the Embassy. I hope this helps you good luck with the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of Support

Officially, no you don't need to submit an affidavit of support. As long as you can prove to the consular officer that you will not become a public charge, you don't need an affidavit of support. Unofficially, most embassies and consulates require one, regardless of your ability to prove you won't be a public charge through other means. This is especially true in poorer countries. The London embassy is fairly easy from what I've read. I would prepare one just in case.

You have to have an original affidavit with original signatures and notary seal. It's too late for you to obtain an original affidavit since your interview is on Monday. I would get a faxed copy and be prepare to present the original later.

Most likely you won't need one since London is a cake walk compare to other places.

So if my fiance signs it and faxes it to me, where can she get it signed officially also? notary sealed?
Thank you much for your advice so far

She has to sign it in front of a notary. There are notaries at banks and certain UPS stores.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOriginal birth certificate needed for interview?
If you are the petitioner you should sent along with the 1-129F package to your fiancée the beneficiary, the originals that you did not sent in to the USCIS; birth certificate, divorce certificate, etc. They also need to be dated as close as possible to the interview date.

Good luck,

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureschange of address

The embassy should recieve our petition this week. Renato will be quitting his job within the next 2 weeks and go to his mothers house. He wants to spend some time with his family before he moves to the US. Should we just call the embassy and notify them of the change of address?

hello Steph,

All i did when I changed my address after the Embassy had received my papers from NVC was to send in a cover letter with the returned Packet 3 papers they ask for immediately. On the letter I confirmed that in anticipation of moving to the USA I had taken temporary accomodation therefore my address had changed from that on the papers to my new address which I then proceeded to detail for them.
Just be sure to have him sign the letter in his normal signature and state Delete Previous address, blah blah
ADD: New address:::::blah blah blah

Good idea!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of Support supporting evidence

Unless he is self employed you do NOT need tax returns going through London. If he makes over 125% (I think the I-134 actually only asks for 100%, the 125% is for AOS, someone correct me if I'm wrong) based on his income alone then you don't need things like life insurace policies, etc. All you need to do is prove he makes enough money, you don't have to go above and beyond that. Simply provide the evidence they ask for (bank letter, employer letter). I'm assuming Dan is the USC? If so, and he qualifies based on his income, then don't worry about any of your stuff.

Oh, and good luck! :)

Have Dan call the IRS. They will send him a transcript of the last 3 years tax's for free. Having a document from the United States Treasury verifying your income like these transcripts will certainly not hurt your case.
Good Luck
Mike

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduressecurity checks

Does anyone know how to interpret this:

Our NOA-1 is dated November 4, and California Center is now working on December 31 already. So, when I inquired, they replied that out petition "is undergoing security checks, and there is no time limit" on that.

What could it mean? Is it just a standard response to any inquiry? Or, is it important, saying that the standard timeline of 90-120 days no longer applies to us??? Awkwardly, the response came at 3:52 AM Californian time. Is it a human or a computer that replies to emails?

Thanks to everyone who can share similar experience or shed some light on this.

Michael

Hi Michael,

If I was you I would wait about a week them e-mail them and then call they, to see what they say.
