National Visa Center (Dept of State)For January/February 2007 filers...

Anyone else wanna share their experiences? Please?

As of today, I still do not have any notice from CSC regarding NOA2.

This despite the fact I have spoken to the NVC (on June 4th) and know they received our packet on May 24, then sent it on to the USE in Manila on May 29!

I also received a notice of receipt from the NVC for our packet on June 4 when I picked up my mail from the post office....

Right now I am waiting as patiently as I can to contact the USE in Manila to see if our application is there yet (Monday is a holiday in the Philippines)

I also need to call CSC to put in a service request to get them to update their website AND send me the hard copy of the NOA2. :bonk:

The good news is that when we filed we submitted all the forms for the whole process because the service I used wanted to make sure we had everything ready to go!

Our petition was sent from CSC to NVC on the 29th of May. It was forwarded to USE Manila on the 31st of May. USE Manila rec'd it on June 4th. So I am sure, yours must already be there. I have yet to receive my NOA2, but I did get an e mail that they tried to deliver it and it was sent back. I called them and they will forward it to my new address.

Good News! Congrats! Wish you and all VJ members the best of luck. I'm still waiting for NVC to receive our petition. So, in the meantime, I'm gathering more information for those that are ahead of me.

Try to call NVC. I did and they gave me my MNL case number. They are much nicer to talk to, than USCIS, and NVC is more helpful. Good Luck to you on the rest of your journey!

Re I-134...what is posted in the USCIS website says it expires 04/31/2007. Are you going to use the same form? Please advise.

Yes, I am using that form. It is the form that USCIS gives you as the most current. As a matter of fact, I have already filled it out and saved it to my computer.

Well, I called NVC today -- and learned that our petition has gone into Administrative Processing.

This is disappointing. We were starting to make plans -- now we had better stop for awhile ...

Sorry to hear about the news. Hopefully it will not take long!! Hang in there!!!!

I was approved on May 24 but noticed on the USCIS website that I got touched on the 25th and 29th. Is it safe to assume that next week the NVC will have my case?

Congrats Eddie&Mary

Thanks!!!

I would say that you should check. I would call, the automated telephone answering system does not have my case and did not recognize my WAC# or my MNL#. It is only when I talked to a person that I was able to get answers. I had called them whileI was stuck in traffic on the 60 around 3:45pm. But definately call, you do not lose anything by calling, AND THEY ARE BETTER TO TALK TO THAN THE USCIS People. GOOD LUCK!!

Thank you for that info Eddie. It really makes my day!!! BTW, after NVC, what's next?

I have been trying to call NVC since last night (Phil time), but I can not get through. Too many callers. Too congested.

Just to update my fellow MAY approvals, I called and received an email, that my package was sent out to Manila today. This is truely going faster than expected. To think I filed 85 days ago, and I have reached this stage is shocking. I am just happy I have all of you here to share the journey with. :)

After NVC the package is sent down to Manila. There they will assign us an appointment date. I am thinkikng that since it is thursday here, and friday there, the package will get there on Monday or Tuesday. I will probably start to check for an appointment on the embassy website on Tuesday evening. The best time to call them (your time) would be after 7:00am. Everytime I talk to them, I always get through. Good Luck and keep us informed!!!!

I just got on the phone with NVC. You are right. They sent my approved I-129F to the US Embassy in Manila yesterday, May 31. I also have my case number now. Wow! This is really getting fast!!!

Congrats to you!!!!! It is really going too fast. At this rate I think the interview maybe at the end of July

Yup, NVC has my case and a live person told me last night that they've assigned it a MOS number.

They got it yesterday, and say it takes typically 2-4 weeks before they send it on. Based on VJ averages, I think they are padding that number. I might call next week, and definitely by sometime around 10 June, to see if it has gone on to Moscow.

I stlll *don't* have my NOA2 from CSC and, last time I checked, the website did not acknowledge our approval.

Congrats to you! I have yet to get the hard copy of the NOA2 from CSC. I called NVC today to give them a change of address, and the lady told me "You called in the nick of time". I did not ask her to elaborate, but I assume it is going out very soon. I will call on Friday and ask if it went out. I have seen people that have it listed as 2 days at NVC, before going out. I hope it is the same for me!!

You can email them at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov.

Even if it's too soon for you to inquire, an email (or even a call) will not hurt.

Is it better to email or call? Where do you get their email address? I was hoping they would have it this week and it would only be there for a couple of days. I was so worried about the NOA2, that I did not pay too much attention to the NVC part.

I am going to give them a call later on today. You are right in that it does not hurt to try. I will also send them an email. The worst thing they can tell me is that they do not have it yet.I'll keep you informed!!!!

i called the State department and asked them what forms my fiance would need to fill out once she has the interview in her country, the lady told me that i needed the DS 156 and the DS 156k.. Then reading something on this site which states whats included in packet 3 and the site said i need the DS-230 and the DS-156... So my question is which forms do i need, or do i take all three just in case?

QUOTE (HelloWorld08 @ May 17 2009, 12:12 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
if you plan to use this for the I-129F process, you are using the wrong form, you need to use I-134, I-864 is for adjustment of status, which will happen later on when your fiancee is in the US and after you marry. If your parents did joint taxes then you will have to use one parent that made the most. you cannot use both parents. after you have determined which parent to use, you and your chosen parent will both have to fill out the I-134 form. and for your second question, the government does not care about debit, so you are ok there...

ok so if that is the case then for the initial meeting at the consulate i will only fill out the 1-134 for my self only because he did no make enough money in 2008, I did, the only question now is will i be able do what is in question number 3 for the AOS packet

thanks for the help man

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionits me again haha
I have yet another question haha actually questions

first one....... Im doing a co- sponsorship (I-864) and im planning to use my dad, there is a question on the form that says total house hold income, do i include what my mom makes as well (mom works for my dads company) and if I do will she need to fill out another form? they do there tax's together if thats helps.

second question.... Will the people reviewing my case take into account the credit card debt my father has? i know there are no line or questions regarding your debt in the form but will that pop up once they run his SS #?

Third question (most confusing to ask) for example lets say my dad needs to make a min of 27,000 (4 dependents) a year in order to sponser my fiance
in 2006 he made $40,000
in 2007 he made $40,000
in 2008 he made $ 20,000

In 2008 he did not make enough he is $7,000 short, but i made $20,000.00 in 2008 (minimum for sponsorship in my case is $18,500) since i only have two dependents. My question is will this senario be ok or will the fact that my dad was 7,000 short screw things up?

also, if i do have a co-sponsorship, i know he must fill out the I-864, do i have to fill one out also or do i need to fill out only the I-134?

thanks in advance for any help

since you have the P3 (instruction packet) you can hold this packet, but try not to sit on it for one year, probably 6-8 months then send it off.... you've gone too far to risk having your petition canceled and sent back to the states..... This economy will probably not get better for awhile, this could be the new trend now, who knows... it's probably best to complete the process and decide then...

Personally i think our economies just auto corrected. They were over bloated. Now the rest of things is catching up to the drop.

Hopefully it will stay where your salary is more in line with your bills tongue.gif

$4.50 / gal of gas was rediculous and $400,000 for a 3 bed room townhouse was equally nuts.

im hoping that someone here has had to deal with the Costarican consulate, my question is simple when it comes time for the medical and vaccinations if my fiancee has already had some of the shots required when she was a kid and in school will she be able to use those, (baring that she finds the proof that she took them) or will she have to take them again?

Aslo am i missing anything from the list of things that we will need for the interview?

Paper's she needs from me (Petitioner)

- Approval letter from USCIS (noa-2)
- I-134 form
- 2008 taxes
- Original I-129 form
- New and old letter of intent to marry
- Evidence of on-going relationship (Pictures, purchased airline tickets, phone bill, email conversations)

Papers she need from herself (Benefitionary)

- DS 230 form
- Two copies of the DS 156 forms (Are one of these forms electronic or will she receive an hard copy for all three?)
- Copy of DS 156K
- New and old letter of intent to marry (Translated)
- Medical exams
- Required vaccinations
- Police report of were she has lived for the past 6 years
- Birth Certificate (Translated)

thanks for any help

Ok good good. Well the hr block tax return has two page summary and the rest look like w2's with lines and numbers with the title "joint filer" or something if that nature.

As far as what you said I think I'm golden then with only providing the w2 of last year then and my passport. Awesome!
