PhilippinesManila embassy big backlog spoke to them today

Our papers also arrived on the 4th of June at the Embassy, and how come, I already have my medical and interview dates (taken from the embassy visa appointment website).

Don't tell me, this is just a false alarm. I already booked our tickets.

I spoke to the Manila embassy today. She said they have NO appointments available for june, july, aug, and the 1st two weeks of sept. They will not mail out our packet 4 until the appointments are available and the backlog is gone.

She said we might get an end of sept appointment and maybe the packet 4 in one month. My papers arrived june 4th.

BIG delays..............BUMMER!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think that is correct as many of us have appointments already for those months. Or do you mean that there aren't anymore appointments left? Ours is on August 3rd. I have their web site printout showing our medical exam and interview dates.

Charlie

Correct you "HAVE" your appointment. Im talking about all future appointments. My i129f arrived june 4 and I was told there are NO appointments for 2.5 months and they are so backlogged they are NOT mailing packet4's out. They told me she might get a packet4 in 1-1.5 months from now. Our paperwork has been there for 2.5 weeks.

I would not worry Island Princess, since we already have our medical and interview dates assigned. I think she is talking about those that have their petition in Manila, but were yet to be given an appointment date,or medical. I would not worry about it.

PhilippinesNumber of Days

hi all!

im trying to update my projected timeline & creating a file that might help some new applicants to have their own projected timeline..
i was wondering how many days does it take for the other procedures such as..

1.) how many days it took your paper to reached the NVC?

2.) how many days does your paper stays with NVC?

3.) how many days does your paper reaches the USEmbassy Manila from NVC?

4.) how many days from your NOA2 to medical examination schedule?

5.) how many days from your NOA2 to interview schedule?

6.) how many days you receive your visa from the date of the interview? (indicate if you we're considered as AR).

its not necessary to answer from 1-6.
i know, this will require you to review your timeline guys.. though, this will be a good thing to do while waiting for more updates ;)

thank you very much in advance..

best regards,
alexandra

PhilippinesFlights, Expenses, Hotel, in Manila related to interview

My fiancee is from Cebu. Her medical exam in Manila is July 26, her interview at the US Embassy is August 2. I am trying to figure out the best ways to get thru all of this and get her here without spending a million pesos to get it done. She really wants me there for the interview to support her, but that would involve being in the Phils from August 1 until her visa is in her hands (I assume back in Cebu) ... maybe a 10 day trip at minimum for me. From those that have been thru this before, can you give me some advice?

1. She will probably fly to Manila with her aunt and a girlfriend. Where should they stay that is a decent place, not expensive, yet close to St. Lukes and to the US Embassy? I'm assuming they should stayover in Manila between the medical exam and the interview, am I thinking right?

2. If I go, how much of all of that should I be there for? My preference would be to let her go thru the interview with the support of her aunt and girlfriend, then fly back to Cebu with them, then fly here alone. Actually, if money was no issue and if I had all the time in the world, I would love to be with her every step of the way. Particularly the flight post-visa process to the USA. What are you thoughts regarding all of this?

3. Depending on the decisions made about Number 2 above, when should I book my flights? and her flights? any tips on where to book the flights and best ways to get that done? how about the problem with not knowing for sure when her visa is actually in her hands and she is definitely ready to fly?

As you can see, I have a million questions. But I am confident someone on this forum has dealt with this before and can give me advice on what to do and what not to do. Thanks and the best to you all!

I understand the difficuties presented to you, I am going through the same thing.

1. My Mary is from Cebu also, and she will be flying in to Manila on the 25th, and take her medical on the 26th. She will just stay there in Manila, since she will just have to be there again the following week for her interview.

2. Though I wanted to be there for her on this important day, we have decided, it would be best for me to stay home.

3. We are going to wait for her to be told she is approved before we purchase the tickets.

I wish you and your SO good luck on the medical and interview.

Thanks for everyone's well wishes. I really would be a mess, if I was not a member of VJ. I have learned a lot, and I have shared many of the same high points and low points everyone has. I hope I will have good news for you on friday.

PhilippinesTrying not to think about it

My Mary's interview date is on friday, Aug. 3rd. We have been waiting for this day, for awhile now. Thank God the time is near. I have been trying not to bother her, and I have been trying not to think about it. I even stayed away from using the computer, and have been doing speacial projects at the office, to keep my mind away from thinking about the interview. All of our paperwork is in order, and she is prepared.

I really can not imagine how nervous she is, because I have never gone through an embassy interview. I would imagine, she is nervous and anxious. My question is: How much pressure is on the woman leading up to the interview?

Hello Eddie,

I have the same timeline as Mary. I and my child will board the plane to Manila on Thursday. I am excited and a bit nervous. Just think positive.

BTW, how's her medical?

Count MJ for Friday also. She is feeling pretty good right now. She is a bit worried that she will get one of those interviewers that aren't so nice but she has her paperwork in order. I told her to just smile at all times even if she gets a grouch, lol. She flies to Manila on Thursday.

Well Mary is already there, she wanted time to adjust. I am sure they will all do well. I know it is a lot of pressure, but I guess if you are prepared you will do well. Hope to hear good words from all of those that have their interviews on friday.

Eddie

Good Luck to all!!!!

Charlie

PhilippinesTrying not to think about it

Hi Eddie&Mary,

Well, good luck my friend. Best wishes to you and your SO! The time is finally near. I agree with Mister Fancypants; just help her feel confident, relaxed, and be herself. Sure, being nervous and anxious is expected. The pressure is really how much you put upon yourself. But, I think you've prepared each other well for the interview. All the paperwork is there. All the necessary tools are there. Best wishes to you and your SO again!

Thanks for the well wishes. You know you wait for so long, and the journey seems torest on the interview. But things will go well. We are prepared. Soon, you will be going thru the same thing. So good luck to you also.

Hi, her medical went well and she is in Manila now. She is trying to relax by doing some sightseeing in Manila. She went to the zoo yesterday. Hopefully when you land you can text her and get together.

PhilippinesTrying not to think about it

I think there is a lot of pressure involved in anything like this, but worrying and fretting seems to make the time go by a lot more slowly. Try getting the house ready, make some room in your closet, wash the car and weed the garden... not only will you feel as if you have accomplished a lot of things to make the place have a more welcoming feel for her, but you will also be keeping yourself occupied with heavy duty jobs that take time and effort and it will help you ease your mind a lot. I know because time flew by as I scrubbed the house down before Loke came home... he was busy as hell and I was busy as hell and hell... we were busy lol

It was good to keep that way and the time flew by a lot faster. We really didn't have a lot of time to worry much and I also did a great deal of our Adjustment of Status paperwork as well and that kept me in tuned with the next step while he rushed to sell his stuff and pack. I hope this helps some.

Oh yeah! And good luck!!!

Thanks for the advice. I have been trying to keep myself busy. I am sure things will work out, but it seems as if the days get longer and longer as it nears..............

PhilippinesVisa approved or not?

Go to this site. http://www.delbros.com/ On the right hand side, very near the top type in your case number eg MNL200686abcg\d with a 01 after. For my FIANCEE it was 01 and for her daughter it was 02. Now I don't know if that is just 1 of 2 or about type Visa. K1 K2 K3. So maybe a spouse would type in 03. All I know is this is what is displayed about our Visa, cuz Nerissa didn't really KNOW either. She paid Delbros and got pink slip, but no ya nay or other.

INFO DATE INFO DESCRIPTION
8/3/2007 5:04:13 PM SHIPMENT RECEIVED AT DISTRIBUTION CENTER
8/3/2007 1:55:35 PM SHIPMENT IN PROCESS
8/3/2007 10:54:41 AM SHIPMENT RELEASED BY THE EMBASSY
8/1/2007 3:06:24 PM SHIPMENT PROCESS IN THE EMBASSY

So at this time their Visas are in DELBROS facility.

Great Info!! I will remember that, thanks!!!!

PhilippinesVisa approved or not?

Hi! My Mary went to her interview on Aug. 3rd, and she was approved. She had no official confirmation from the woman other than a wink and a smile. I called DOS and got a confirmation (202) 663-1225. All you need is your MNL#. Hope this helps you! Good Luck and CONGRATS!!!!

Eddie

WOW Eddie! GREAT!
GOOD info. I hadn't heard of anyone using DOS to confirm before and getting a positive response saying approved.
Especially in one day!
Did you get a warm body or automated?

I got a warm body, and the woman was real nice. She asked me a couple of questions and told me that it was issued. The bad thing was I was on hold for 18 minutes, but well worth it. At least now I have peace of mind knowing now that it is an official confirmation of approval.

Ted, I thank you for the well wishes and Mary does also. I wish the best for you and Maria on your medical and interview. Mary is busy selling her things, and needs to see her father before she comes over. I need time to clear off my work schedule so that I can take 3 weeks off, so we can plan our wedding. Philippinesds forms to fill-out?

hi!

is it advisable to fill-out forms using forms online or in the website. or is it better to use the forms enclosed in the packet 4? thanks.

Hi, this is taken from the Sheriffs Guide:

As of 01 November 2006, ALL nonimmigrant visa applicants MUST use the online Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF) to complete the DS-156 (Nonimmigrant Visa Application) at http://evisaforms.state.gov, per the Manila Embassy. Completion of the DS-156K (Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application), the DS-157 (Supplemental Nonimmigrant Visa Application) and the I-134 (Affidavit of Support) via computer (recommended), type-writer (just as good), or handwritten (last resort). To review the K1 Visa Forms (DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157, & I-134) most Frequently Asked Questions [CLICK HERE]. To review the Manila Embassy Thread's recommendations on what to bring (which directly corresponds to the document preparation letter and Packet 4 sent by the USE) and sample questions asked by the Consular Officer during the visa interview.

Hope it helps!!!!! Good Luck you!!!

Philippinesjust want to ask........

Hi everyone.......

Good Day...

I am a 22 year old filipina applying for a fiance visa to marry my 37 year old american fiance, we're just waiting for the NOA 2. I read from all the uploaded files in this website that age gap maybe a hindrance for applying fiance visa especially during the interview at the US embassy in the Philippines, with our age gap of 15 years... what do you think?..I'm just wondering if you have knowledge about this issue..

I'll wait for your reply..thankS in advance... and just want to say goodluck to all of us...
MABUHAY!

:help:

Sheryl

Hope you get approved soon. There is nothing to worry about the age difference. They just want to see that there is a legitimate relationship between the both of you. Nothing to worry about. Good luck to you on the rest of your journey!

PhilippinesConfirming your Interview Results

all you have to do is call DOS at(202) 663-1225. Give them your MNL# and they will answer your question.

Maybe. Or, maybe not. I know others (like ourselves) who did not receive any help from DOS. In fact, during the three-week pergatory waiting for visa-release, the DOS wasn't even sure if my wife had in fact showed up for the interview! Seems like every different government agency computer system can say something different.

The computer at the USE and the computer at DOS are supposed to show the same information. I do not know why they did not help you, but any entry made in the USE computer pertaining to a persons petition, is supposed to show up on DOS computer.

Congrats to you both!

P.S. When are we going for that beer? lol

Thanks, you let me know know when you want to go!!!!

PhilippinesConfirming your Interview Results
Hi everyone! My Mary had her interview on August 3rd, and she was not sure shen she left if she was approved or not. She said the woman smiled and gave a wink, but she wanted to hear the words confirming it. Not to mention, I wanted to hear the words also. I called the Department of State and they confirmed that she was approved and that she was issued her visa.

So for those that are usure as to whether your SO passed or not, all you have to do is call DOS at(202) 663-1225. Give them your MNL# and they will answer your question. This will save you some anticipation in waiting for Delbros to deliver to find out if you were approved or not. Hope this helps all of those with upcoming interview dates.

its not that im too excited with my interview schedule..im just wondering ...

For our tour in USEmbassy, we observed that there’s a corner there designed for kids. Providing some toys too…Quite relief for applicants whose going to bring some kids inside. I’m just wondering, can I bring my babysitter inside during the interview procedure?

thanks!

No Alexandra, you cannot have your babysitter with you in the USE. Sorry, but they only want those that are there who are involved with the petition either petitioner or beneficiary.

PhilippinesI-94 Form

Aloha kakou,

The I-94 - is that given to Joan during the flight or at the POE (either Guam or Honolulu)?

Mahalo,
Bill and Joan

JoanBill,

Typically custumcustomss/immigration forms are given to passengers on the flight to the POE...

She would explicitly request one from a flight attendant?

The flight attendants will have the forms she needs. They will help her decide which one she will need. She will have to fill out at least 2, the I-94 and the customs declaration form.
