i sent my packages at the same time and got same message, changed once they processed AOS

Thanks again for the reassurance!

After repeatedly having been hosed by the "boilerplate" USCIS emails from a few months ago, I'm not sure what to make of these automated responses and feel compelled to come here for reassurance

Yup, don't worry about it. As soon as they receive a package, they tend to send out a false RFE saying a package is missing. One package will always get to a reviewing officer faster than another. Just ignore the email :)

As always, thanks so much for the reassurance Saylin!! :)

Hi gang, so I just received an email from the NVC stating that they received my AOS and they're still waiting for my IV packet.

I had sent both the AOS and IV the same day in individual packets, so I'm guessing this is an automatic computer generated response... right?

Hi, people! I took my husband to the SSA office today and, as guessed, his info was never entered into the system, so we handed in the application and the woman said he should receive his card in under 2 weeks.

How many TSC refugees are left that haven't done interviews yet?...

ummm... my wife is still stuck in India, waiting on the NVC

So that's about it and we are very happy to be together after all this mess and we are also happy that she at least made it before our anniversary. She is adjusting well here and liking it. Now we are just waiting for her green card and SS number to come

CONGRATS on finally finishing up bro!! :joy:

I am very happy for you and your wife and I wish you guys endless happiness in the U.S.

After a ridiculous post-TSC 4 month delay, I was finally able to mail out my AOS and IV packets yesterday. If all goes well, I'm hoping I'll be in your shoes in less than 2 months. I hope I'm not being overly optimistic there

hahahahha thanks Saylin!!!! I need that dancing carlton from celldoc, now that would complete it ! Amazing how perfect the day went, I guess frontloading at the USCIS stage really does work. They had all of our photos, everything..they asked us VERY basic questions, and said congratulations, you are approved! The woman who interviewed us was so nice and personable, we really lucked out :)

For those of you who grew up in the '90s, the following post may make sense.

My friends and I were huge fans of the video game Mortal Kombat growing up. One of them sent me the following link- I couldn't help but think how APT the song in the video would be if it were to replace the hold music at the TSC

Hi CellDoc

Yeah my wife is from gujarat but she lives in Mumbai. She will get her passport clearanec certificate in two days from mumbai passport office. As far as local police certificate is concerned, she will get by next week. Gettig PCC was a nightmare experience for my wife.

Thanks for the info. I haven't heard of the passport clearance certificate before. Is this something needed to send in with the DS-230?

Did your wife get a new passport with a name change after you guys got married?

Today two NVC operators confirmed that my case was indeed delivered on 2/28/11 and that I should have a case # by next week. This is the first time that I was given a date on when it was delivered so I'm feeling optimistic.
Finally!

Hi CellDoc.go to local IRS office in miami..they will give you print out in 15 minutes.thats how i got it from west palm beach office

Thanks for the tip bro, I'll do this if I don't get anything by this week :)

Is your spouse from Gujarat by the way? This police clearance certificate looks like it's going to be a headache. It also seems that the Gujarat government "requires" the wife to get a new passport reflecting she has taken her husband's last name. If this is true, what utter bull#&%! is this?

I got my transcripts in 7 days... It was all automated...

Thanks, it seems I ought to get something by mid-week.

Case number
Beneficiary Name and Bday
Petitioner Name and Bday
Reason for expedite and attached PDF of supporting evidence if applicable (which I suppose would be the letters on the CIS website)

I know maybe I'm being paranoid but I don't want to expedite for USCIS error because it only took 6 months for CIS to approve my petition. I don't want to be denied by the USEM and have my husband show up and them say "ha this guy tried to expedite bc his petition took 6 months to file instead of 5 what a chump" I know it sounds crazy.... I drive myself insane with this process

I hear ya!

Took mine 6 1/2 months... HMMMMM :D

I just called the operator told me that there is no criteria for expedite at the NVC level and it really is the embassy who decides considering they are the one that will be handling your case squeezing you in for an interview and such. She said write a letter to nvcinquiry@ state.gov in the subject line write PI Attn: Supervisor Sue. And you'll know in about a week. Since I already sent my original paper work to NVC I think it's too late for me as my documents are sitting in a mail room waiting to be input. BUT DO IT IF YOU STILL CAN! lol. :)

I was just told the same thing in terms of USCIS errors not being suitable excuses for NVC expedites.

Did the operator suggest what to mention in the body of the email to Supervisor Sue?

Thanks for sharing :)

this is what it should say if the ds-3032 has been accepted:

"Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

We received the principal applicant's DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent) form designating an address and agent. Instructions for paying the immigrant visa application processing fee and all future correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the DS-3032.

For more information regarding the immigrant visa application fee or for answers to frequently asked questions, please visit the following website:

http://travel.state..../info_3904.html

If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC (by email, telephone or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. In that case, your fees will need to be repaid and documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process."

It is pretty cut and dry, and you will know if the email they send you pertains to the acceptance of the DS-3032 or not.

Yep my letter's legit.

I'm working on the I-864 cover letter... in the VJ template, adjacent to "your name", they write "[SPONSOR].

Is the template clarifying that this should be my name and not my wife's or am I to literally write "[SPONSOR]" after my name in the address area?

nada, just get documents together and look out for that email regarding acceptance of DS-3032 and your IV invoice.

Sounds good, back to the VJ guide for the list of documents :)

You know, I still have to think twice before I believe the emails I'm get from the NVC, as a little bit of me is still paranoid that maybe I'm getting some bullsh#@ boilerplate email

You should be fine with still using your parents address, since, if you give your email addresses over to NVC, then you won't be receiving anything in the snail mail anyways. As long as NVC has some address, they'll be happy :P

Sounds good :)

OK so I've paid the AOS Fee and the DS-3032 has been sent from my wife's email using VJ's email template.

What next? :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCSC to TSC to NVC: the Saga continues

I would recommend using your parents address if it is 1. your mailing address and 2. the address you used on your i130 app. I changed my name after USCIS and before NVC. When I called NVC about the inconsistent info they told me that it shouldn't matter as it is really two different services. So I would write yourparents mailing address on your form. Then call Monday and ask if it is necessary to send in a change of address (if it is different than the i-130) or not.

Thanks so much for your input, I was thinking along the same lines.

Yes, I have been using my parents' address up till now out of convenience, and I'm thinking of continuing to do so.

Thanks again :)

Hi everyone!

So I'm going over the VJ Guides... lots to read up on!

I have a question for you guys, not sure if anyone here might know the answer though. If not, I will call the NVC Monday and ask, but I thought I'd try here anyway :)

Here's the deal- I've been living in Miami since last summer, having moved here shortly after getting married. I wasn't sure for how many months I'd be staying at my current apartment in Miami so I've been using my parents' mailing address up north as my own up till now.

I'm about to send the DS-3032 out via email, and now I'm wondering if I should still use my parents' address from up north or use my apartment address in Miami.

Any thoughts from my more experienced friends out there?
