What does this mean?

Acceptance
On February 11, 2011, an amended notice on this case was mailed describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on the notice. This case is being processed at our TEXAS SERVICE CENTER location. If this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN is still pending, you will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During the acceptance step USCIS reviews newly received applications and petitions to ensure that they are properly filed (i.e. signed by the applicant, appropriate fees, etc.) USCIS issues a receipt number for the application or petition, and sends a receipt notice to the applicant or petitioner.

I am not sure why your application was sent back to "Acceptance" instead of "Initial Review"... Look at it this way- at least now you know for sure that your app is being worked on :) Give it a few days to see where it goes from here- maybe this is just their way of correcting whatever computer errors may have been entered in the beginning, and once that's happened, they can then proceed the way it should have been.

Same here Doc.... BUT..... I sent Ms. Barrows and email two days ago (from my navy.mil address) LOL and she responded today....

Officer (my last name),

Your petition is at CSC. We have reached out to them regarding your
situation. I will update you again on Monday.

Regards,

NICE! So you're at CSC, good to know :)

Since I emailed Ms. Barrows today, from my hospital's .edu email nonetheless, on a Friday afternoon, I don't think I'll hear from her till maybe Wednesday or so...

Here's to a speedy reunion with our spouses

Thank you guys so much! I really don't know how insane I would be right now if it weren't for everyone on this thread.

And for those of you who have gotten the "being processed at a USCIS office" email, your turn is coming up! I got my approval on the same day as that update (just under 10 hours later). They are working fast!

Good luck to everyone and I hope that those who are waiting get your approvals very very soon!

Thanks for the reminder Jennie :)

Let's go TSC!!

I still have 5-6 pages to read through, but I have to say YAAAYYYYY I GOT APPROVED!

I received the text at 5:13pm PST. I was in the middle of tutoring a student when I got the text, and it took everything I had to not be like, "Dude, sorry, I've gotta go check my email." I couldn't even wait to get home to check, and now I'm sitting at the Borders cafe trying to contain my excitement.

I'm sooo happy and I can't wait until it's late enough for me to call my husband in England.

I imagine there were lots of other approvals tonight (I'm gonna go back and read those pages now), so I'm gonna go ahead and say congratulations to everyone who's been approved!

Got a feeling you're next tonight. As soon as it changes status, and although it seems odd the way they post it, for some reason you get the approval. Like first they say they transferred you, then the next few minutes you get approved. Weird, but hey, HOPE IS UP, Doc!

You're next!! I can feel it!!

Thanks so much for the encouragement you guys

It's Friday night in Miami, I've got my TV shows ready to go, dinner ready to go, my beloved VJ forum always on my laptop... come on TSC, LET'S DO THIS!!! :energy:

Maybe they're in the process of "reseting" your record and have to go back to the first step to make sure it's done correctly.

Yeah that thought had crossed my mind, certainly a possibility. I just hit 6 months so I shouldn't get all that discouraged seeing that folks who've hit 7 months are just getting around to being approved.

All I can do now is hope for a good outcome sooner rather than later.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCalifornia to Texas & Texas to California - Part 2

Were you ever "approved"? Or just noticed your status changed?

Naaa, was never "approved" - when my application had entered "Post Decision Activity" in late November 2010, I had received the following email:

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On November 29, 2010, a USCIS office received this case from the State Department with a request that we review it. We will notify you when we complete our review, or if we need something from you.

That's a bummer. I didn't even think that was possible. Surely that's a mistake. You should email everybody on that list.

I had actually emailed Ms. Barrows this afternoon at around 2 PM EST. Prior to today, I had emailed TSC which had elicited the Officer Garza reply maybe 2 weeks ago.

Well, I think this is a good sign. The petition is there, and it looks like past errors have been corrected. I think you'll be approved REAL soon.

Thanks for the encouragement :)

I certainly hope you're right!

Hey gang, unfortunately I did not get approved, however my case status was demoted from "Post Decision Activity" back to "Initial Review".

I received a text and email a few minutes ago. The email reads:

*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

The last processing action taken on your case

Receipt Number: WACxxxxxxxxxx

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Your Case Status: Initial Review

The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you.

Even though I haven't joined the ranks of the approved ones, I'm still happy because this shows some sign of life in my application

Interestingly, I still have no clue where my application really is, so a part of me is still somewhat worried...

Hi again, I'm a little confused as to how can be so sure that your wife will have her visa in hand the evening of her interview.

I'm still navigating through the threads related to this, but from what I see it seems we're stuck with the VFS service. Clearly I'm missing a step or two in my reading- can you please clarify?

Many thanks!

Read this thread...

http://www.visajourn...0615-vfs-india/

She will have to pay the fee's even if she does not submit anything to them. She can go to Ahmadabad and take care of it if she does not want to go Mumbai. She has to go I believe 10 working days prior to Interview date. She will need her interview paper to be able to pay the fee's.

Read here for exact info from Mumbai Consulate.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCR1 visa refusal at interview Mumbai - section 221g

I would like to share my recent exeperience with mumbia (india) US embassy.
I petition file for my wife when i was on greencard. once i got my US citizenship i upgrade my file status from F2A visa to CR1.
my wife had scheduled interview this month and she attand it on time.
Officer and translator ask lots of questions to her and she is feel like tourched!
questions like; few example...
why you didnt go on honeymoon?
why your husband had divorce and what was reason?
why after marriege your husband never come to see you?
how your husband send you money?
what do you talk on phone with your husband?
name your husband's friends at US.
Do your husband and his x-wife still talks and/or meets?
how do you communicates with your husband?
How often you communicates with your husband?

after lots of questions and wait they gave my wife a letter called section 221(g) visa refusal latter. she is too upset.....why not?
she presented all the documents in interview which is required by law; even marriege album which shows more than 1000 people attanding.
BUT still officer and translator not satisfied that we are real married.... more likely transalator is #### hole...
they gave my wife a form which is called Section 221(g) indicated that following documents needed.
1). Photocopies of all passports (husband's) and all pages even its blank.
2). Pictures of you and your husband togather except marriage.
3). Proof of money transfered to you from your husband.
4). Proof of joint ownership (like joint bank account and property if any)
5). Correspondence between you and your husband.
6). Letter envelops that your husband ever sent you.
7). Proof of phone calls that you or your husband had.

I do hardwork and sent most of all documents by email. only i dont have is proof of money transfer and letter envelops bcoz i never sent her money and i never write a single letter.
she submitted following day of interview at VFS office mumbai along with additional fees.

after 6 days she recieved courier at her home town and it was passport with visa stamp and sealed envelop along with all documents that she submitted at VFS office.
I couldnt able to sleep at all in between visa refusal and received.
so if you guys had something like this... dont worry as long as your marriege are real. so what you didnt had honeymoon?
now i am gonna purchase air ticket today......

Congrats to you and your wife!

As far as what the point of this post is, don't listen to ***holes on this forum- there are many of us who appreciate success stories being shared

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDo Addresses Matter Later On In The Process?
DOES QUESTION (18. ADDRESS WHERE YOUR RELATIVES INTEND TO LIVE IN THE UNITED STATES) IN THE I-130 DOES IT HAVE TO MATCH LATER ON WITH THE ADDRESS OF YOUR JOINT SPONSOR??

OR DO THEY LATER ON CHECK THAT ADDRESS OR CHECK IF ITS THE SAME AS YOUR SPONSOR? OR WHAT IF YOU DONT END UP LIVING THERE AND CHANE THE ADRESS LATER??

AND WHICH IS THE ADDRESS THAT THEY USE TO SEND ALL THE DOCUMENTS? IS IT THE ONE YOU PLACE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE I-130?
