Hi all, first I'd like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the thoughtful forum members who take the time to share their experiences and knowledge on this forum. The information shared is oftentimes quite helpful!

I'm an August filer with practically no experience with the visa process. Below is a summary of my story, and as you'll see I'm in the same boat as a few of the forum members contributing to this thread.

08-09-2010: NOA1 (I-130) Received text & email with case number
08-26-2010: I-130 Check Cashed by USCIS
09-09-2010: NOA1 (I129F) Received text & email with case number
11-02-2010: Cases Transferred to Texas
11-04-2010: Both cases touched
11-28-2010: I129F Touched- Received text and email saying case is being processed at a USCIS office
11-29-2010: I129F Touched
11-29-2010: I-130 Touched- Received text and email saying Case Status changed from "Initial Review" to "Post Decision Activity"

I find myself wondering, like a few of you, what exactly "Post Decision Activity" means.

Cheers

If you are a July-filer at TSC and haven't heard any updates since November, please contact your congressman. We contacted ours and received word today that our file will be processed within 45 days and go to NVC in about 2 months.

In spite of all the email and letters from TSC, our congressman's office found that our file had never been touched. Thankfully, our case is now moving forward. If all goes well, I'll be able to move to the USA at the end of October - just as if we had applied in November instead of July.

Unbelievable.

I wish you and your loved one a speedy course to and through the NVC

Fired off e-mail to Ombudsman at DHS and contacted Congressman Dana Rohrabacher's office here in SoCal. The end of the week I will be contacting local media here in SoCal as well.

Wife just called, 3 AM Thailand time, son is sick again and taking him to hospital. So much for the APPROVED expedite request Nov 18th, called them the week before Christmas and got the run around, was told to just keep calling back.

About to go POSTAL....................

I sincerely hope your son is doing better, and I hope you don't go postal in the true sense of the word- that may not necessarily help your cause.

I'm hoping for the best for all of us, and especially for those in dire circumstances where health is perhaps being compromised by being forced to remain abroad.

Peace.

Received a letter from my congressman and he said his Congressional Laison at USCIS
said I have to wait until Jan 14th and if i dont have approval by than I m to write
him back and have them get it approved than.

Let wait 15 more day and see if that the truth.
I told him there were many people transfered from CSC to TSC and nobody been approved
like but a handful and he said wait until your 5 months is up and than call him to have
congressman get it approved.

Good Luck we will see very shortly I guess in a week or 2]

That sounds encouraging, thanks so much for sharing.

Also, it was very kind of you to mention how other transferees are currently in the same situation as you.

Cheers

jjjdddlll has been a member since May 2010, as has made quite a few posts in many areas of the forum. I would like the said poster to prove to us that this is a genuine email, where it came from, and what prompted it considering TSC were closed when the email was sent.

If he/she can do that, then it would probably alleviate a lot of the stress being felt on this thread right now.

So, jjjdddlll here we are. Give us some genuine hope that this is correct.

Maybe it is someone from USCIS as a member here trying to calm us

I'd like to think so Rachel, but you've been following this thread from the beginning, so you understand if I can't help but be skeptical.

We have yet to see our political reps get a coherent, reliable answer- so I ask myself what the chances would be of a "regular joe/jane" receiving such a lengthy email as that posted by "jjjdddll".

We have people who have honorably served in the Armed Forces who haven't gotten a coherent, reliable answer- so again I ask myself what the chances would be of a "regular joe/jane" receiving such a lengthy email.

Of the thousands of emails the USCIS fields, perhaps on a daily basis, it's become self-evident that all they can afford to do is send one of a number of template-based emails.

All things considered, I'm still hopeful for all of us :)

Today is nice in TX. I would HOPE they'd have been told to work "catch up" this weekend. I know most businesses would have asked for volunteers to work the weekend, if the staff had been off due to bad weather.

I'm not optimistic though, but I could be wrong.

Catching up with work this weekend would be nice. I guess it's possible, unless they have absolutely no access to their computer system, assuming the server being down is a system-wide project, which is unlikely, since updates and such are usually undertaken in sectors... who knows :)

You know, however cynical I have become, I do honestly think TSC have gotten their act together. The weather has been the main problem this week I fear - and I worry about next week also. The temperature doesn't rise until next Thursday according to the forecast, but at least it's only showing light snow showers.

Yeah, I hear ya- but even if it's cold, Federal workers should be working. If of course the temp gets exceedingly cold where water pipes are bursting all over the place, then we'll be out of luck for a few days more.

I got this message from TSC today saying all applications will have a response within 2 weeks:

"Unfortunately, our office is closed today because of the ice/snow storm that has hit Texas, but I did not want you to wait to hear from me. The I-130s are the priority for the Texas Service Center and we will have an action taken on every petition within the next 2 weeks. On a separate note, we are working with our call centers to ensure a more accurate and consistent delivery of information so hopefully your experience will not be repeated."

Hello jjjdddlll- I find it unsettling that you still haven't mentioned in what form you received this message.

"I did not want you to wait to hear from me" doesn't sound like something that would be mentioned in ANY USCIS-related correspondence, it's way too personal.

What I'm saying is, I smell a rat

I'm praying that this is the start and all members here who got transfered will get their approval soon.

Good morning VJ,

Goooooooood morning from Miiiiiami! B-)

Got the RFE hardcopy, Them want proves of our wedding, affidavits of guests and bills. Things that were sent when we filed, which they probably lost  My husband is pissed off.
So all we have to do is feed their lack of common sense, send the stuff, wait & see  :bonk:

Are you SERIOUS? It took them THIS LONG to request proof of your wedding? AFTER you had already sent it?!?!?!? ####### does that have anything to do with security background checks anyway? I ask that because I thought that was why our cases are being delayed- supposedly our petitions are undergoing some sort of security checks.

Unbelievable.

I've put in two service requests. Don't worry, you're not missing anything. As I found out today, my first Service Request resulted in an update of "initial background check", or lovingly referred to as Blue Dot number 2.

My lawyer admitted today that there may be a "problem" in Texas, and I say that is the first step to recovery!

Thanks for sharing!
Did your lawyer have any suggestions as to what can possibly be done if he discovers that there truly is a problem in Texas?

WOW, loosing faith quite rapidly that this will be handled properly. It seems like a comedy of errors all around..............

There should be no doubt in anybody's mind why I am teetering on the edge on sanity.

This whole experience is SUCH a huge disappointment. I too am concerned regarding gross mishandling of our cases. It seems like all it takes is one "boilerplate error" to send a petition reeling uncontrollably down a bureaucratic spiral, the recovery from which could take a minimum of 7 months, if not longer.

Of course what makes it worse is us being kept in the dark.

Some of you guys know by now that I'm a physician. What do you think would happen if I told you that I'll give you your diagnosis in 5 months, in the meanwhile emailing and texting you a bogus diagnosis, only to partially retract that diagnosis, only to give different estimates as to when I'll get around to actually giving you your real diagnosis each time you called me?
