Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)waiver I-601
I would also like to say if the wait is killing you, some people do choose to move to Mexico for the wait. Since they become really familiar with the country it is actually easier for some of them to write their hardship letters.

Also, smf.juarez-mexico.com has a lot of formats for hardship letters and what doesn't get approved and what does and the people there seem to give helpful comments on hardship letters.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)waiver I-601
Definitely check out www.smf.juarez-mexico.com and www.immigrate2us.com because I have seen deportation cases involving problems like DUIs on those sites.

The ban would depend on how long he was illegal for, whether he was EWI at any time, how many times, etc. The voluntary departure will help your case.
Here's the govt link on it:
http://travel.state....ities_1364.html

Here's some threads (not all are recent.)
http://immigrate2us.....php/t-786.html
http://www.immigrate...at-Log-09-23-09 (Laurel Scott's chat.)
If you can't find info anywhere, I really recommend Laurel Scott's weekly chat. Just google her name and she does it every Wednesday. I don't know the time.
This one has 21 pages of I-601 waivers with drug/ criminal issues:
http://immigrate2us....l-Issues-Thread

I also recommend smf.juarez-mexico.
http://www.smf.juare...hp?topic=3504.0
There is a lot of other helpful info on that site as well (Not that VJ isn't helpful, cuz it is, but those two sites specialize in waivers and deportations and especially at Juarez.)

That part has bad news: "For example, if your client has two DUI convictions then regardless of the hardships and the evidence, it will be referred." That means the waiver would processed long-term and could last a year or so in processing.
I'm really sorry; it sounds like your case is going to take a while, but keep your hopes up because one never knows with Juarez. Just be prepared for the possibilities.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)waiver I-601
*Hopefully they won't give you a waiver.
*If they do, have the waiver packet ready because sometimes you can stick around in Ciudad Juarez. I think they either send the visa to DHL or if you are eligible for a waiver or not.
Here's a good link for waivers:
waivers

You should prepare as if you were going to have to present it and have it with you and also bring related information to your interview.
Here's what Ciudad Juarez has to say about it.
http://ciudadjuarez....ov/hcis601.html
On the USCIS website it says $545.
Good luck!

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)anyone gone throu the Waiver after K-3 visa
Hi Henry,
Sorry, I don't think there are many recent Mexico waiver people frequenting VJ right now. You might want to ask your question on www.smf.juarez-mexico.com, as I don't know the answer to your question. However, I did hear about that happening to someone else, but I never found out why. You should just ask why when you get to the embassy. If it's the last thing you need to do before your visa, I probably wouldn't argue about it if I were you.
Good luck!

LOL sorry to jump on the RUB forum, but I'm familiar with that area. I think you are pretty close to OCC - Oakland Community College, and a lot of people recommend community college classes for ESL. Also, many Detroit-area Michigan cities offer classes in their continuing education programs. Troy apparently has frequent class offerings: http://niles.troy.k1...enrichment.html
It says they offer ESL, and sometimes it is free. This is the winter catalogue: http://niles.troy.k1...er brochure.pdf
You could also check the classified onlines at mlive.com or I think I also used to check online for the Detroit News, although I haven't had much luck with that. I would go with Community College or the city program.
Good luck!

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)help, do I need a waiver?
QUOTE (emt103c @ May 26 2008, 09:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
If you've been outside the U.S. more than ten years then it doesn't really matter that much anyway. Any bar that you would have incurred (had any of the time been after the age of 18) would be over now, even if you were deported.

If I were you, just to be safe, I would consult an attorney--I recommend at visacentral.net . Tell her all of the circumstances you know and make sure that all is good. It sounds like all should be fine. If you were deported the ban would have probably only been 10 years at the most. You only entered once, overstayed and then left, correct?

thank you very much... you have been very helpful

QUOTE (emt103c @ May 25 2008, 12:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The easiest way to get the information would be to ask your family.

You can try a FOIA request with USCIS to try and discover how you previously entered. In the meantime you need to be truthful about every entry you know about. USCIS and the consulate will understand that you were too young to know the facts about your previous entries, but you need to give the information about which you are sure. Illegal entries before 18 do not count against you.

Are you in the U.S. now?

No im not in the US now... I haven't been for about ten years or so. where do I FOIA? do have a web page?

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)help, do I need a waiver?
hello,
here's my problem....
I think that when I was less then 10 I was unlawfully in the states, but Im not sure.
I know my parents had work permitts but i don't know if they came in with visas (or me for that case)
We moved to canada after living in the states and I know that when we lived there we had a legal stauts (we where not unlawfully in canada) which means that when we left the states we where not deported.
I know that if the case would be that my family and I had been the states illegaly it would not count becuase i was under 18?
ok , so on my k1 visa form it asked me t tell them if i had ever been in the states should i say yes? even though I dont remember the WAY i came in, with or with out visa? It also asks me to tell them the entry date and exsit date, what should i say if i don't know? and it also ask me to tell them if i was ever unlawfully in te states, if the im right about "they don't count an unlawfully stay if done someone did it when under the age of 18" should i say yes or no? is there anywhere i can find out this information about the stauts i had in the states? will this afect my chances to be with my fiance in the states? ps
***i can't get this information from my famly***
and another question Im living in mexico but i am a citizen of el salvador. Im here with a Fm3 visa marked a dependent of my parents (they work for a canadian company and are wait for there residentship from canada. is this going to affect me? Im turn 21 this year too so my stay in the states was about or more then ten years ago. please help

:help:

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaMexico VOIP phone numbers

Has anyone found a VOIP (voice over internet provider) that issues phone numbers for Mexico? I am looking for a way to get a Mexican phone number over the internet so my wife can call her family as if it were a local call. Also her family could call her as if it were a local call. My wife's family is in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico and currently we use net zero. The rates are 10 cents per minute which isnt too bad but if we could find a provider in Mexico we could get a mexican number and the monthly fee would be all we would have to pay.

Try yahoo messenger with voice, it´s only .2 cts./min.

Hola, Thank you for the info..

I think we can speak spanish.

Gracias y Felicidades otra vez..

Thank you for replying to this topic. Which part of Mexico is your relative from?.

Have your relative started making plans about going to CDJ? do you know where is the best place to stay? plus do you know if it is true if you get a letter and cartilla de vacunacion from Mexico, at the medical exam you will not have to buy all of the vaccinations required?
