Yeah I know I'm not allowed to be there crying.gif And its going to kill me, but I hope everything goes well, so does this mean that the package has been sent out to him??

YEAH! that's right!
though it doesn't really matter.... it only matter that they have "sent" the package to him/or you, because as you can call them and ask about your package and if they tell you that your package has been "sent" ( even if you don't have hard copy of the letter) you can head to juarez... the only thing that matters from the package is the invitaion letter... which you can get printed out when you get to juarez (You already have so it doesnt matter) all the other documents you can print out from the web site!

So what I mean is you are good to go anytime to juarez!!!

( And I know the feeling I wish my guy was going inside with me too :-( )

Hi all,

Well I just arrived at the Holiday Inn Express near the consulate. Very comfortable.

The guy behind the reception desk recommends going for the medical at around 8.30 a.m. due to the numbers that line up between 5.00 and 6.00am.

Thoughts or recent experiences anyone?

So they just send the letter that is the "open invitation" and we are able to go?? So then I can start getting all the information together for the "packet" which is supplied online?? Once the letter is received we can go down for the medical exams, schedule the interview and hope for a positive outcome??

Actually..... Let's say you called the Juarez hotline and they tell you they sent the package Apirl 1th but you haven't recieved the letter yet. You can actually go to juarez even if you dont have the letter yet as long as The juarez hotline tells you it has been sent. if you do that you will have to get it printed out in juarez.

I hope you the best and if you want more information please go to the juarez consulate foreum under the emabssy section (around page 181)

Cici, if you go to the pgr in whatever city you're living in you can get a letter of "no antecedentes", I know Merida and Cancun both do this. A good place to start is at the police station, sometimes they do it there, sometimes they'll send you to a different office to do it. My friends who work in Cancun had to get letters, they took fingerprints and had to present their passports and FM3's. I imagine you'd have to take your credencial and acta de nacimiento in the case of mexicans. The letters took a couple of days to get. These letters are becoming more and more commonplace as jobs are beginning to ask for them (my fiancee had to get one for his job).

I did go to la seretaria de seguridad publica and I payed like 70 pesos for a letter antecedentes no peneales.... is the letter from PGR different to this one? we didn't even get finger prints taken there.

QUOTE (eric_and_teresa @ Sep 11 2008, 10:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
To answer your question about what is next, I suggest you read the K-1 Flowchart, see Step No. 4

About your other questions, is your daughter a US Citizen? If you already have it, you can travel with a B-2 while the K-1 is processing, but its really up to the CBP officer to let you enter the US.

What do you mean by the fiance visa interviews are open for 6 months?

Okay, so please help me understand something.
I've read many times somewhere that the Fiance interviews are open and not on a specific date. Am I wrong on this? I'm getting confused.

Also it says on the flow chart: 1 week 8. Forms and Checklist sent to Beneficiary
Forms and Checklist sent to foreign Beneficiary (Fiance/e).
*This will be sent out within a week (typically less) from when the embassy processes the received petition. This package will include a checklist of items and paperwork that must be collected. Some will be sent back asap, and others will be sent back later or brought to the interview.

Where do they send this? To my home in Mexico? I had understood that they send this to my fiance in the States and then he sends me this. Because if this is the case then I can't go and I have to wait for the papers here.

So can I or can't I go up to see him and wait for my interview and paperwork in the US?

*Yes my daughter has US Citizenship and I do have a Tourist Visa. And I do realize that the POE Officer might not let me in. My real concern here is timeing and not wasting money on flights back and forth.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNOA2 Approved! What next?
I know there is still more paperwork to be sent and stuff, but I'm not entirely sure what happens now. He would be reciveing the NOA2 in the mail by Friday or Saturday.

We had planned for me to go up to see him on my turist visa by the end of this month and that way leave our daughter with him while I come back for my interview in CDJ when ever I got approved. Because I don't think I can take my daughter with me by myself, I believe it to be too dangerous and read they don't allow anyone else in for the interview. Even a 2 and a half year old wouldn't be able to go in with me?

So can I fly up, leave her there and come down for my interview?
I understand Fiance interviews are open for a 6 month period. True?

Any suggestions on the chapest and easyest way to do this? Because I think it would cost more for me and my dauhgter to fly to CDJ and then both to fly to Vegas to my fiance, than for both of us to fly to Vegas then leave her there and me fly alone to CDJ. Right? Any ideas?

Do I have to take the original or can she just fax it to me? I mean, do they require me to take the original that they sent me? Just so I can advise my mom on what to do. And do they send it through DHL or UPS? Or regular mail? Because I live far from the city and mail takes 3 times longer to get here if it does get here at all. That really has me concerned.

I was asked to bring the original appointment letter for the medical exam and for the interview as well, I'm not sure if the Embassy in Mexico will require to see the original appointment letter. Here in Guatemala, the Embassy used "El Correo" which is the national mail service. What we did was, after a couple weeks of receiving the NOA2, I (foreign fiance) emailed the US Embassy in Guatemala, and provided them our case number and asked them if they already had scheduled our interview, they replied in a week or so, with our interview date and telling me that I should be receiving the instruction packet soon. Maybe you can search on the website of the Embassy in CDJ and see if they have an email there.

I will start reading all the links that have been provided to me asap. I just need to clear my head today. I thought I had it figured out... headbonk.gif

My fiance got the I-134 notarized for free, I think he went to the City Clerk's office, but let me ask him so I can give you the exact name of the place were he did it.

What you could do is, start preparing the documents you'll need for the interview before you travel to the U.S., you can read the Embassy's info. on this link, there is also a list of documents you will be asked to complete: US Embassy- Ciudad Juárez, México.

If you want to, you can PM in spanish smile.gif or post on the regional forum in spanish too.

No te preocupes si tenes mas preguntas, me alegra poderte ayudar.

Saludos!

1000 Gracias!!!

I am starting to understand a little better thanks to everyone that has answered and posted so many helpful links. So far what I think I am missing is the crimminal report that I will do on Wednesday and for him to do the affidavit.

This is what I have gathered that I will need for my interview based on someone elses experience in Ciudad Juarez:
  • invitation letter
  • passport
  • medical results
  • D-156 and D-156K
  • two passport photos
  • CDJ-401/2
  • birth certificate original
  • passport
  • recent job offer letter indicating salary and start date (stapled to it was my business card)
  • three of his latest paycheck stubs
  • latest 401(k) statement
  • form W-2s for 2006, 2005, and 2004
  • latest social security report
  • extra copy of birth certificate and original and copy of birth certificate translation
  • extra copy of DS-156K
  • extra copy of CDJ-401/2

Am I missing anything?

Oh and also, from what I have gathered Mexico doesn't require appointments for I-129F interviews. But I'm still not sure on that. I think I read something like that on the Consular site for Mexico.

Someone told you that the Embassy will send you the instructions to your home in Mexico, because that's exactly what the Embassy will do. There is no contradiction between the guides and the advice you have received. After the NOA2 the NVC forwards the case to the Embassy in México, then, the Embassy will send you (you= foreign fiance in Mexico) the instructions to follow for the interview and checklist of documents that need to be submitted for the interview. IE: birth certificate, police records, criminal records, proof of on going relationship, instructions to complete the medical exam etc., on the other hand... the Guides ADVICE that the USC sends a copy of all the documents submitted with the I-129F to the foreign fiance so the foreign fiance knows all the information that was submitted to the USCIS, in case the Embassy asks any questions about the information that the USC submitted with the petition.

Ooooooh! Okay, I get it now. Quick question. My mother lives in the address they have, so if I go up to the States in the next 15 days and my mom recieves the intructions here. To answer your question about the affidavit of support, only the USC has to prove he/she meets the required income to sponsor the foreign fiance. Your financial situation, as the foreign fiance, wont be taken into consideration.

You may also want to read the instructions on the I-134 form, you'll find a link to it on the same link I provided above.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionFiance Packet questions
Thank you, I will go get the crimminal background done next week then.

Okay, another dumb question. I was reading about the requirements and... Do I have to have money in my bank account? If so, how much would be the minimum?
Or is this not necesary? Because I thought that the USC was the one that needs to have this kind of proof.

The NOA2 says I have untill Jan 8 2009 to get my K1 Visa. Do I have to call somewhere to get a specific appointment date?

I am getting frustrated because he is very impatient and he just reads through stuff and if he doesn't understand it he just gives up. I would have a better idea myself if I had it in my own hands. He said he didn't see any instructions and that it is only one page the NOA2. Is this true?

I'm feeling kicking.gif mad.gif blink.gif kicking.gif and then wacko.gif

What has confused me the most is that first I understand something based on the K1 Guide here and then someone else tells me it's a diferent way. On the Guide here it says that the USC has to send me the paperwork to take to the interview. But someone else says that they send paperwork to my home here in Mexico. I still haven't found the right answer.

I am very sorry if I am apearing dumb or silly, but I really don't get it yet.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionFiance Packet questions
I've been all over this site but can't find what exactly without fail I have to HAVE for the interview. Can anyone help?

For Mexico is the appointment open? As in no specific date?

The thing is that they sent my NOA2 on Tuesday and he will recieve it by tomorrow. But because of being busy I hadn't looked over the step after recieving the NOA2, but I started to yesterday and now I got confused on what I had understood before about what happens next.

I had understood that first they send him the NOA2, then he sends paperwork filled out back and also sends me the paperwork needed for my interview. So I then take it with me and then cross over once they give me the visa. Where am I wrong? I got this idea from the K1 Guide here.
Do I have to wait here in Mexico for something being sent from USCIS?

The problem is that I have made plans and am leaving Mexico with my tourist visa to see him in 18 days. The plan is to already take all the documents with me from here, gather all other paperwork there, leave our daughter with him (she is currently with me) and then go to my interview. But we would like to be able to choose the days I go down to CDJ because someone has to stay home with our kid since she's only 2 1/2 years old. Would I be able to do this? (I am aware of the POE Officers choice in letting me in).

Please any help would be greatly apretiated. I already have my tickets and am selling everything I own. I need to know so I don't mess this up. We don't have money to spare.

Yes, you need to be a little more patient. They do take their sweet time. Just so you know, my husband received the packet AFTER his interview date. He was already in the US when his mom calls us letting us know that he had received a packet. The packet comes from Texas, so that's why we the USC get the packet a little sooner in the US. It does take long to receive, but I would call the embassy in a couple of weeks to ask them if your interview has been scheduled. I found out about our interview over the phone, so we prepared ahead of time, before we got the packet. GOOD LUCK!

Hi,
when you say "you" will need a SS#, do you mean, ME (the U.S. Citizen) or my wife?

Also, one other question? So, our "I130" is being processed, but then our lawyer is giving us contradicting information - once it "comes in" he said that we will have to file papers to get her over still, that it takes "about two more weeks" but I asked him if this was for the sponsership and the tax returns, ect, and he said earlier "no, thats for a differen't visa" so I'm confused, when it comes through the CVC can she come over? Or do we need to send more papers? Thanks!

The SSN is needed for the imigrant who wants to study in US. Have she considered to revalidate her career in USA? Maybe she can avoid 1 year more of study and she'll work soon as she get her work authorization.
