US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMexico K3 interview packet?????????????
Well, it's very usual that this occur. In Mexico the packet 3 hardly ever arrived but if you as petitioner will receive the packet 3 in USA your husband can go with this packet. The information in the embassy website is accurate at least when I checked the information for my K1 visa. The only thing that wasn't there is the affidavit of support (I134). Good luck

I think that it's very common that the packet from Cd Juarez never arrived to the beneficiary in Mexico. The same happened to me. I went to the interview with the packet that my husband received in USA. Good luck.

We onli filed the I134 for co-sponsor and my fiance provided his employment letter with it. But it's better if you do bot I134 if "it'll be necessary". Good luck.

I think that you can re-print the first page with the correct information and attach it with the second page (notarized page). But if you want to change more financial information you must get another I134. If the petitioner or co-sponsor shows in the II34 enough income (125% poverty guidelines) you'll be Ok, but if you think that the new information helps to reach the 125% I suggest you get another I134. Good luck.

You need the I134 for K1 visa. The I864 is when you'll be already married for apply for AOS.

When you file the I134 you must check the poverty guideliness (I864P), and the petitioner must earn 125% of the table. If not, he/she needs a co-sponsor.

I don't think that Hepatitis B vaccination must be obligatory. But I don't know how does it work in Philippines. In my embassy the vaccinations weren't necessary. They are strictly necessaries for AOS when your fiance comes to US...
The obligatories for AOS are MMR, tetanus and diphteria, Chicken pox and rubella.

Good day.

If you are going to use a co-sponsor the co-sponsor must show strictly the last year of income tax (2007) the other last 2 years (2006 and 2005) will help also, they're optional.
Also if you have your last income tax year you can attach it to the I134 too, if there is not you can attach an explanation letter about why didn't you report past income tax? Also you must attach evidence of unemployment during the missing income tax year (ex. school's records)
Good luck.

Hi. Your father must count his dependants (I don't know if there isonly your mom). The same is for the co-sponsor. Paystubs, employment letter, last 3 yrs of income tax for the co-sponsor he needs to attach proof of his citizenship/residency.
In our case we used a co-sponsor and the petitioner only provided a unemployment letter explanation. The petitioner didn't file another I134...
Also, you need notarize the I134.
Good luck.

You can call to the clinic to get a copy of your vaccination's record. When you come to US you need to have the I693A form filled by a surgeon authorized by immigration. You can go to the doctor here and ask for an order to get the vaccinations in a public hospital for free. The vaccinations are MMR, rubella, chicken pox, tetanus and diphteria.

Have you seen the I134 example? http://www.visajourn.../Form-I-134.pdf
Yes, they ask about how much money do you have in bank accounts. If you meet the poverty guideliness (125%) you don't have to complete that part neither the other related to propiertes, anyway I read in some part in the form that the propierties that can count in it are houses, business,...

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPackage 3 and Interview
Hi,
the CJ embassy website says K-1 applicants get an open appointment letter. I had heard that was the benefit of going K-1 at CJ.

http://ciudadjuarez....ov/k_step1.html

The whole packet 3 is available online at the CJ website. I have also heard that people don't always get their packets. As far as I know, you just need to be in touch with the embassy to make sure that you can come any time you want (really convenient) and then you show up and get the open appointment letter there at the embassy, go to the medical, and then your appointment. I'm sorry I don't know the hours when you have to show up in the day for those appointments, but I know it's early.

oh, good! I hope everything will go fine and my guess is it will!

I am double-checking your list now, but I don't know much about K-1 requirements...I know for Cr-1/IR-1 they are asking for his passport and the original and copy of birth certificate, but I can't find a good list of K-1 requirements. I have also heard of timelines and affidavits for the K-1, but I doubt Ciudad Juarez is that demanding.

However, I also found this quote from one of the chats:
Laurel: I'd say if you had just admitted to one or two uses of marijuana and nothing else and no arrests due to drugs ... and its now been over three years since the last use ... it's not worth discussing. Chances are the adjudicator has done the same thing and isn't going to be concerned with that. Anything more serious than that and you may have to get into it.

Drug Ban
So, if it was just one or two times it looks like she doesn't think you need too much evidence about that.

Read this link.
Drug Bans Thread

There are a lot of people on www.smf.juarez-mexico.com who have gotten the drug ban so it is well discussed. They also tell you what you need to do for the interview if it has been just a simple one-time drug use. Drug tests are recommended, and letters from the head of a drug rehab facility or priest or other community leader.

Here is a quote from "Catiana" in that same thread re. Laurel Scott's advice on drug bans:
Here are a few suggestions from Laurel Scott:

• evidence of changed life conditions, e.g. alien committed offenses when he/she was young, foolish, unemployed, childless, and/or single, but now person is older, wiser, married, employed and/or has kids

• letter from clergy stating this person has changed

• evidence that alien is in position of trust with money (if financial crime) or trust with children (if violent or alcohol-related crime) and that the people who placed him in this position of trust KNOW the alien's criminal history

• evidence of successful completion of alcohol or drug treatment program if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crime (BEWARE OF ADDICTION GROUNDS OF INADMISSIBILITY - ALIEN MUST BE CLEAN AND SOBER FOR THREE YEARS)

Since it is a one-time drug use, they should accept less evidence, but I would definitely want something to back you up at the interview just in case.

Apparently, this is the number from the CJ website for people calling from the US:

Within U.S.: 1-900-476-1212 (toll charges apply) or 1-800-919-1754 (credit card)

I know it is a toll number or you have to pay but I don't know how much. Why don't you call the 1-800 and find out how much it is so you can see before you pay? I can't even find an email address to contact them on visa issues so unless someone has a better idea, my guess is this is your only choice.

That's glad that it got through USCIS and NVC so quickly.
Good luck!

Supposedly they don't recommend using the email, but you can try. Apparently they prefer the "extortion line." You could try the other number if one of them doesn't work...Or you could see if your honey can get through from Mexico...I would try again if you have just tried once. Yes. You want to make sure they are ready for you to come. Supposedly they send out an interview letter but I hear they take forever to arrive. So most people just get verbal comfirmation that they are ready for you to come for the open appointment.

They don't give you the visa right there. They have a bizarre setup. They send the passport via DHL to DHL in Ciudad Juarez. People have to check on the DHL website until their package arrives at DHL in CJ and then pick it up.

I also read something interesting yesterday on www.smf.juarez-mexico.com. They were saying that people schedule their waiver appointment before they go to the visa appointment to try to make them as close as possible to do them all at once. I believe the waivers appointments are scheduled through the call center.
Good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDoes anyone know any timelines for Administrative Processing for K-1 visa for Juarez Mexico consulate?
I still can't believe they put you guys in AR. That's crazy to me.

A 6-8 timeframe is better than 6 months but still cruel.

LOL I didn't mean to tell you what to do in my answer; my emotions just sort of jumped out in my answer. What I meant to say was I don't advise you to give up now because AR may very well be the last step before the visa. You could try Laurel Scott's chat for some ideas...

I hope your Congressman can get involved because that helps a lot of MENA (Morocco) cases in AP or ones that have been denied.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDoes anyone know any timelines for Administrative Processing for K-1 visa for Juarez Mexico consulate?
Oh no! I'm so sorry! That's so irritating! I figured something was wrong when you didn't write anything yesterday.

Don't get married. Hold on. That will completely take away any eligibility for the K-1, and many people get their visas after AR. You should just hold on and see what they do. I'm not an expert, but I haven't really noticed many cases on VJ where visas in AR were denied. Your Congressman will hopefully help out...this is actually the first case of AR in CJ I've ever heard of...Oh, I just saw the part about six months...see if you Congressman can get that reduced (or if you can find extra evidence?) 6 months of AR!!! But if you get married, you will just have to go through the same thing anyways, I would think, because they are still concerned about the drug ban, and that would only extend the time period.

You could join us Americans down here in Mexico for a while! That might help!

I'm so sorry, again.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionTax returns
Read the I-864 instructions...

Here's a copy-paste from page 8 of the I-864:
"You must provide either an IRS transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year. If you believe additional returns may help you to establish your ability to maintain sufficient income, you may submit transcripts or photocopies of your Federal individual income tax returns for the three most recent years."

I see 3 most recent years recommended on VJ. You can order your tax returns for free from the IRS.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNot Denied, BUT...Request For More Info After Interview
Ok, that's kinda of a rare request for Juarez, but many other consulates such as Casa deny outright rather than allowing you to present more evidence. I would search "bonafide marriage" here on VJ for more ideas of what to send and make sure you send plenty of legal documents as well as proof that you two are in a relationship. Sometimes when they request more evidence consulates put people in administrative processing while they process the new evidence. I really think they will give you the visa but I can't promise anything. You might want to have your Congressman get in touch with the embassy once they have had a little time to process it or call the "extortion line" (the embassy) to see if they have made any progress on it.
Good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionOriginal Birth Certificate?
I can't speak for fiancee visas, but DON'T SEND IT BY REGULAR MAIL IF YOU DO. Do send it by DHL. I have gotten cards in Mexico sent by regular mail, but at least one of them looked like it had been slit open to see if there was money inside or possibly by customs. DHL is the way to send stuff to Mexico.

Copying all the pages of your passport is a good way for them to see how many times you have visited your fiancee and is the type of evidence they tend to like. That is something she could bring to the interview.
Good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionJuarez Consulate
Juarez is a completely unpredictable consulate. Read this forum going on as we speak...Many people have had to stay longer and pay for extra days at the hotel...Supposedly, they usually send the visa to DHL that same day if you get out of the consulate early enough, or the next day. Clearly, that is not always the case. By the way, they don't give you the visa at the consulate. They send it to DHL in Ciudad Juarez and unless they say you can have it sent to your city which I have heard of in exactly 2 waiver cases, you have to wait in Ciudad Juarez for it to arrive at one of 2 DHL offices. You can read the reviews where it says Embassy reviews if you are interested. I also follow a forum called www.smf.juarez-mexico.com and there is a lot of information about where to stay and what to do while there. I personally agree with Hopp and think people should actually only go to the medical and the visa appointment and back and not even eat "en la calle" (eat out) because you run great risk with the daytime shootings.

I think you should do what the Casablanca people do for a denial like that, which is contact their their Congressman to keep the petition at the consulate and request an extra interview or opportunity to present more evidence. I think you need evidence that the two of you keep in contact as well, such as emails, phone logs, etc.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPolice Certificate for Juarez

He got his from Toluca, as that was the closest place to where he lives. He was able to get his very fast from what I understand. We were going to translate it when we were at Juarez, but the translator said that it was not needed any more becuase they don't ask for it. When he went to the consulate they took the original copy.

Well if you can get it in Toluca then surely the one from Merida will work. Merida is 20 hours from Mexico City so he wants to save the trip if he can.

Does my fiance need a police certificate for the consular interview in Juarez if he had never been convicted of a crime? The Juarez Consular website says:

"Persons convicted of a crime must obtain a certified copy of each court record and any prison record, regardless of the fact that they may have benefited subsequently from an amnesty, pardon, or other act of clemency."

That sounds like it is asking for the record for people that have committed a crime. Can anyone who has been through the process in Juarez help? If you don't have any convictions do you need to get one? The reason we want to avoid getting one is that my fiance would have to go to Mexico City to get it. Does anyone know of another way of getting a paper like the "constancia de antecedentes registrales" without going to Mexico City?
I'm trying to decide if my fiance should get one as well. The language of the instructions lead me to think the exact same as you. From doing a lot of reading in the Juarez forum it seems that most people get one and take it to the interview but it is never asked for. My fiance is going to look into getting one here in Queretaro before she leaves for Juarez on April 2nd but if she can't get it, I'm not going to sweat it.

Don't you just love the wonderful "instructions" on the Juarez website? tongue_ss.gif If one was to only follow what it says on the fiance instructions page, it would lead to a certain denial for lack of information.

Can you tell me on what page of the consulate's website does it say that as I can not find that information!
