I called NVC today and our case has been chosen for AP (additional processing). It has been there since Aug 3rd. The automated info line doesn't have a record of our case at all so I spoke with a person. I saw in another forum that this is common but that it can take up to six weeks. I guess this means our plans might be changing. I was silly enough to set a tentative wedding date of Oct 17th. This process is so stressful.

Does anyone know how long after our case arrives at NVC I should wait before I contact my SOs home consulate (Juarez sad.gif ) ? Does NVC let you know with a letter that it has left the center? Or do they just let you know that it arrived?

Hello All,
im back in the US waiting for the rest of the process. Yesterday we got a letter from the National Visa Centre (dated Aug 3rd) saying that we can expect our case to be forwarded to Juarez, MX in about a week. We know from timelines that Juarez is very slow but we hope to get the open letter (or find out that it has been mailed) in the next month or so. It is hard coming back without him. What a rough transition.

Strega, Im March. Our NAO1 was March 2nd and was last touched on March 5th. So they have started the March 129fs. I was so excited I couldnt remember how to change our timeline! I fumbled and bumbled with it for five min.

I've been reading and catching up and WOW - a lot of frustration is building up! I am also really trying hard to stay in the moment. I only have one more week left in Mexico where I have been visiting my SO all summer. Soon I have to go back to the US and wait without him. We really thought we would have gotten the AOS2 in June (like our California counterparts did). We thought we would all be going to the US together sometime in Aug but that is impossible now. I need to make every second count of my time here with him. He just realized today that after the AOS2 there is another long wait ahead. He thought that the AOS2 meant he was going for the interview as soon as he wants. It has been 144 days of waiting and my poor patience has worn thin. Like a few of you said our roles reverse and we support each other because sometimes I am the one that gets anxious. This week it has been him. He is excited and hopful but really ready to get to the US and be with the family. For now ¨living in the moment¨ is our mantra.

If you can do it financially, I think you should go see your guy it sure would take the edge off of the wait. And it has been a long wait. Maybe you can get a ticket that you can switch to Juarez if the NOA2 comes through this week or next. I have see a lot of cheap tickets in the last few weeks.

we got our NOA2 on the 28th and i call the NVC to see if the had gotten our documents .... they asked me for our brithday and they had mine WRONG! they 4/11/87 insted of 11/4/87 ...... In mexico thats how we write it.... and forgot i was writing it for the USA!!! what should I do? the VNC said that I should just take my birth certifcate to the interview.... but i know what do you think???

You should call them for sure that your file has been sent to your consulate. I received letter in 01-12 (01-08 sent) that NVC got it in 01-05. I called them in 01-12, they told me my case was in AP. I received 2nd letter in 01-16 (01-13 sent) stated the same. I called today and my case still in AP.

Call them for sure.


I keep reading your posts and I can't figure out what "AP" means.....

hello,

we got our email on the 28 from USCIS... but does anyone know how long we have to wait till we can call NVC? How long it takes to shipout to embassy? we are lucky that we get it sent to mexico becuase that means we can go to the interview the same day we get the letter from the embassy.( No interviews dates required in mexico, it's walk in) so We need to know aprox dates to plan travel 'cuase we know this might be over in less then a month and a half.. Yippy!! I can't wait to be with my sweetheart!!!

We asked the same question. We were together here in Mexico for 5 years and had a baby, we never thought of getting married because we were happy the way we were. But things got hard money wise here so he decided we should move up there. We researched a bit on it and he left and filed the petition from the states. We had no idea it would be over 6 months before we would see each other again. Worse for him to not see his baby girl and miss out on her growing up. He left before her 2nd birthday.

After my personal sobb story... It is very hard at first, lots of crying over the phone and big depressions. But if you accept the fact that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel and do your best to keep your self busy and cheerful, time will pass and you will be together again. If either of you let depression set in, then it can be passed on to the other and then you both loose hope. Don't let yourself or him loose hope.
I got approved today, so I'm happy again. kicking.gif

Yesterday my husband spoke with a representative of USCIS to expedite our cases
because my husband lost his job and he is the petitioner, and therefore strongly affects us
economically, because I depend on the money that he send.

The representative told him that is a reason to expedite our cases, but we would need
real proof that my husband was laid off for no reason.
evidence that affects us economically.
The sentative asked several questions.
Then he said that 5 to 8 days I would be getting a letter with the quote to issue our cases.
not if we will approve the cases, but do not lose anything by trying!

Since you mention express posting the IV package, I'm assuming you didn't do electronic processing then. Which means that you will not get an email indicating your case is complete. To find out in your situation, you're going to have to call NVC.

You'll also have to call them if you want to know when your case has left for Montreal. But remember, they only send out your case once an interview date has been assigned.

I have a 2 years green card which is going to expire march 03 /2009 and i got now all the documents today and will send them next week, Im wondering if its a late filing??? cuz my GC hasnt expired yet or should I have sent the documents in december? In case im delayed what should I do? It took me all this time to get the papers thats all.

I filed in january to Vermont service center and had my biometrics done in march, but when i recently checked my case status online it doesnt say anything about my biometrics done. Just that they sent instructions in feb and my case is still pending at vermont.
