PhilippinesCRBA AND PASSPORT
i would have to agree with jj1028. the father's citizenship cannot be given retroactive effect to cover the earlier birth of the child.

actual case in point, my husband and two of his older siblings were born prior to my father-in-law acquiring US citizenship. all three of them had to be petitioned to get to the US. while 2 other siblings born after my FIL became a US citizen, automatically became US citizens by virtue of the CRBA.

can't even check on that site cuz it says "Case Number Not Found on Appointment List".. I know i can go for an early medical but my question is what APPOINTMENT LETTER can i show the guard since our packet 4 doesn't include one.. no medical exam date either.

in that case, just ask your husband to scan his copy of the packet 4 and email it to you. your print out can then be presented to the SLMEC guard and reception desk or another option is to call SLMEC for appointment packet pick up. Goodluck!

hi marie, dont be. just check your visa interview appointment from this link: http://203.177.135.1...tment/login.asp print the results and show it to SLMEC. i'm betting it will be somewhat similar with mine--medical-12:00am; interview-6:30am of the same date. but don't fret you can always go for an early medical.

i noticed from you sig that your interview will be on Feb 14, 2008, you might want to go in for your medical this week or the week after, for your own peace of mind. Goodluck!

For Midwest and next summer-

the best I am finding online is 894$ into Chicago one way on NWA via Mobissimo and Vayama.

Try searching NortwestAirlines directly or calling American Airlines. I found the prices slightly lower than Mobissmo. With AA or United the POE is O'Hare. With Northwest the POE is Detroit or Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Yes my preffered place for her to enter would be Detroit which makes NW the obvious choice but the cheapest I have found on thier website is about 980$

i booked my O/W ticket from a local travel agent here in Manila on NW for MNL-WAC via DTW. so far, its at $785, inclusive of taxes. i haven't paid for it yet though, as i have instructed my agent to just extend my options until a cheaper rate comes along. =)

HELOO VJ'ERS

ANY RECOMMENDATIONS HOTELS IN PALAWAN????

hi there! which part of Palawan will you be visiting? if Puerto Princesa, the high end hotel in the city will be Legend Hotel. about an hour's drive from the city is a resort my friend recommends, Dos Palmas. We are going to Puerto Princesa this Feb and will be staying at Hillside Resort, they have pretty reasonable rates. good.gif

if you're going to Coron, Club Paradise in Dimakya Island is a good choice. i totally enjoyed my stay there--it got me hooked on snorkeling. for El Nido, there are plenty of small resorts in the main island, but if you're going for a romantic getaway i highly recommend the resorts owned by El Nido Resorts, Lagen Island specifically, im not sure if their package still includes intro to scuba diving (it was when i stayed there), but the experience had me getting a diving certificate after.

for more choices, you can visit this link: http://www.palawan-resort.com/

Enjoy!

QUOTE (David-Mae Forever @ Jan 30 2008, 07:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
You still have more than a month before your interview so why not work on getting a latest copy of birth certificates? It's not that they will not accept an old copy at USEM, but won't you feel so much comfortable knowing that your government-issued documents are all latest? Don't take the chance of using it. Follow what others have said... You have come this far and you wouldn't want to jeopardize everything and be put to AR (God forbid) just because you didn't have an up to date documents.

--Mae

^^ i agree with mae. if you live in makati or anywhere near, i suggest you visit their local NSO office. depending on what time you arrive, you can get your certificates in an hour's time. longest waiting time would be 2 hours. if you want to wait for your online purchase, i suggest you pay the document verification fee this early, so Delbros can do it for you and they could have it on file with the USEM in time for your interview.

as to your original question, on the validity of old certificates, if it isn't printed on the NSO Security Paper, i'm afraid it won't do.

Please help. I received my packet 4 last saturday and noticed all the ds forms enclosed. But I plan not to use any of those but instead, just download them online, fill them up then print. Will this be fine??

Will I print each ds forms back to back? I noticed in the packet that its printed on short bond paper but seems the bondpaper is of special quality. Will I have to follow these specifications? Thanks for any help.... blink.gif

i presume you are referring to the DS156 and 157 forms? if yes, the USEM requires the DS156 forms to be filled up online and printed thereafter with the corresponding bar code. for the DS157, you need to pay the visa application fee with the USEM designated banks and they will issue you the machine validated DS157 which you would have to fill up legibly using black ink. any letter size bond paper will do and no need to print them back to back. yes.gif

QUOTE (Roserick @ Jan 31 2008, 10:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I heard NAIA Terminal 3 is built and ready to go.. But its not owned by the govt.. Its owned by some German company..

NAIA 3 has been standing for how many years now and has failed to operate, since it has been declared by independent third parties as not structurally sound and inhabitable....the German company has been stripped of its right to operate the same, as the contract has been nullified due to questionable provisions that are prejudicial to the Philippine government...another graft and corruption riddled contract for you...

GMAs government has promised our airline company exclusive use of the Terminal 3 since 3 years ago, and we have been raring to transfer and consolidate our airline operations since there is much traffic with the existing domestic terminal already. sad to say, the structural repairs in terminal 3 is taking sooooooo long. we dont know when the actual transfer will be. that's the sad state of the philippines... crying.gif

good.gif it will be awhile before the transfer. there's just no infrastructure to support this plan...the financial districts are in the Metro, how then will they support the regular business flyers without fast and efficient transportation as well as roads to and from the Metro??? headbonk.gif

You haven't heard the ongoing construction of train service?

The govt bought my uncle's land 2 yrs ago because its blocking the soon to be rail way system..

The plan will start from Subic to clarke, Clarke to Manila..

I'm telling you Pres. GMA really put alot of budget in her hometown of Pampanga.. Are toll booths are like the one here in the US automatic ticketing..

Pampanga has really improved to become a city..

the masterplan has been existing since Ramos' time. how long did it take to construct the new NLEX? how about the roads going to the airport? as it is now it wont be able to accommodate much traffic. unless GMA can make miracles and construct superhighways like those existing in thailand and malaysia in the next 12 months, i very much doubt the transfer to be in place in 2009....plus 2010 is an election year, doubtful if funds would be spent for that airport project. the problem with the philippines is we spend so much time politicking....we live and breathe it. hence, not much is done. its really a shame considering that our country has been blessed with abundant natural resources...if only.... cray5ol.gif

toll booths? that isnt due to GMA Roserick, its privately run by the Lopez' group. the government had to adopt the BOT scheme otherwise there wont be any semblance of a transport system. the LRT, MRT are all under BOT (build-operate and transfer). i'm not saying GMA has done nothing for the country, she has. but there are just too many graft and corruption (courtesy of the FG-Mike Arroyo) that stalls her government from executing much needed changes. protest6wz.gif

the disqualification referred above has nothing to do with your brother's income. its from using the I864EZ form blink.gif

When I open I864A it says "the file is damage and cannot be repaired."

Oh.. My bad.. So No Co-Sponsor can use I864ez..

Since I can't open I864a I guess I 864 regular is alright? unsure.gif

Cause it has the choice of Joint Co-Sponsor..

my mistake. the I864A form should only be used by a Household Member and to be considered a household member, once should either be:

-A relative who has the same principal residence as the sponsor and is related to the sponsor as a spouse, adult child, parent, or sibling;
-A relative or other person whom the sponsor has lawfully claimed as a dependent on the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return even if that person does not live at the same residence as the sponsor;
-The intending immigrant, in certain circumstances. (See "How Can the Intending Immigrant Be Considered a Household Member"?)

since i have no idea if any of the above applies to your brother, you are safer using the I864. good.gif

you are not planning to use the 1864EZ are you? if you are using a co-sponsor might as well provide income statements for the past 3 years

Its not for me... Its for my brother who is co-sponsoring me for my wife..

Well Actually I already submitted the I864 last year.. I submited 04, 05, and the latest 06 ITR which was above the P-Line.

But my 07 is below the P-Line so I'm just preparing this in case the consul ask for my latest ITR..

I know.. I know.. they didn't ask for financial docs on the interview.. I have seen 3 IR-CR interviews already and no questions regarding financial docs were asked..

Just want to be prepared for any worst case scenario..

there is a reason why the CO no longer ask for financial evidences--they already have it in the packet sent by the NVC. Since you have already been declared by the NVC as documentarily qualified, the only thing that the CO needs to confirm during the interview is your identity, relationship and the eligibility of the petitioned immigrant.

anyways, if you still insisit on having your brother sign the form, he should be filling up and signing the I864A and NOT the I864EZ. to qualify for the I864EZ, all the following conditions must concur:

1. the one signing should be the petitioner of the intending immigrant;
2. the petitioner is using his earned income or retirement as evidenced by W2s; and
3. the sponsored immigrant is the only person immigrating based on the visa petition.

absent any of the above would automatically disqualify your brother from using the said form.

Thank you Medieval and michael_nc!!!! Yesterday was the only time since they have received my DS230 that I did not call them...ta dah... they got it CASE COMPLETE!

Anyways, I just got off the phone from them and thank both the Supervisor Kylee and operator Wendy for calming me down last Tuesday (10/9) the last time I called NVC. I told them I will not call them until Monday, October 15th, if my case is not complete by then. But anyways, they did sorted it out. Kylee, did in fact worked on my case. When she got physical hold of my file, she did find no missing documents on my file. Reviewed it carefully and declared NO RFE, thus CASE COMPLETE. She said that my documents may have been lost, but later on found. The notes on my case never found MISSING DOCUMENTS note on it, however I may have been misinformed by a previous live operator.

Nevertheless folks, what's important now is that I can move on from this. By calling them and staying calm and following up on it constantly did pay off. By the way, they got my DS230 resubmission via email, that helped it too! It was noted on my case, at least they are listening to me.

Haaayyy....thank you all for your support and caring words! kicking.gif Now, I can finally relax!

hang in there! don't stress to much. October 15 is not that far away...ilang tulog na lang star_smile.gif i read a thread somewhere that after a while they tend to miraculously find the missing documents. i guess that's why there's a supervisor review going on...they need time to get their act together and somehow do some damage control for the erroneous office action they sent out. the missing documents will turn out pretty soon, you'll see. Good luck and God bless!
