Family not wealthy. Both have long term jobs in the countries where they currently live. Both are in their mid to late 30's.

PhilippinesWhat are the chances
My finacée is wondering if two of her sisters would be able to come to our wedding here in the states. I understand that it is very difficult for Filipino nationals to get tourist visas to the US. One sister is working in Singapore and the other is working in the UK. Both have been working in those countries for quite some time now. She would really like to have the support of her family at the ceremony. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this type of situation.

Thanks,
John

Philippinesscheduling a k-1 visa interview in manila
That look like the correct number to call. As previous poster stated you may have called on Saturday in the Philippines.

Also, I could not find on the US Embassy - Manila website where it states that a change is coming in December for scheduling. Can you point me to this statement?

PhilippinesPhilippines fire kills 15, many nursing students

It's beyond sad. I am trying to imagine how much more sad it would be if I were a petitioner waiting to hear how my beneficiary did on her nursing exam, only to hear she is now missing from that hotel, never to be seen again. Corruption Kills!

***Picture remove from quote.***

Very sad indeed. But even more than that, how could you post a picture like that in reference to this tragic story?

PhilippinesDS-160 for K1?
The Manila Embassy and ustraveldocs sites both say that the DS-160 is required for all non-immigrant visas. This is not the case for non-immigrant K visa. I wish they would clarify this on their websites somewhere but the only place that says it is not required is on the DS-160 FAQ section of the US Department of State website. Pretty confusing if you ask me.

Philippinesapproved but no pink slip
From what I understand there is no 'pink slip' anymore. Also you do not have to pay for visa delivery with 2GO. You will receive your passport with your visa.

Bad weather in Phils may be causing delays in visa deliveries. You should be able to contact 2GO and inquire about your delivery.

PhilippinesPhilippine flooding
Well, the house got flooded 2 times in 3 days. It was not a good situation for her or the people that live around her. Sewers were backed up, mud everywhere. So far there has not been a repeat and we are hoping for little or no rain since the ground is so saturated with water now.

Thank you for all of your concerns. We are just hoping for our NOA2 soon so I can get her out of there for good.

PhilippinesPhilippine flooding
Just got off the phone with my fiancée in Panabo City. They had a foot of water in their house over night and are working to clean everything up now. Sewer systems are flooded and toilets can not be used. She said they did save their rice which is extremely important. Everyone in the family is ok. I just wish she was here now and not having to deal with this.

PhilippinesHow Long?
You should be able to go to CFO now and have your seminar. Refer to below link for particulars.

http://www.cfo.gov.p...temid=78#ThirdA

Once you have had your interview and passed, you will get your passport and visa back by courier. No need to get new passport. When you have your visa you can go get your CFO stamp so that you can leave the Philippines.

PhilippinesPassport sized pictures

they should be the 2"x2" photo on a white background. THis is from packet 3:

http://photos.state....3__rtf2_001.pdf

VISA PHOTOGRAPHS. You must bring three (3) color photographs; two are for the visa and one is for the medical report. Size and format specifications must be strictly observed: Photos should measure 2 by 2 inches (roughly 50 mm square) with a white background and the head centered in the frame. The head (measured from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin) should measure between 1 inch to 1 3/8 inches (25 mm to 35 mm) with the eye level between 1 1/8 inch to 1 3/8 inches (28 mm and 35 mm) from the bottom of the photo. See http://travel.state..../info_1287.html for detailed instructions.

I say just get some more taken. They are dirt cheap in the PI anyway. That is what I had my wife do (besides she was out of the previous ones)

PhilippinesAmericans staying with your Pinay wife in Philippines
Yes I agree. My asawa does her laundry by hand with soap also and she has never used a washing machine. I showed her mine in the webcam and I explain it to her I think she is interested in it hehe. Also having a glass cooktop range is interesting to her in the webcam because she only has a charcoal grill there in her home in Mindanao.

I have been there to her place 7 times over the past 12months and try to get visa things done every time. It's been a long process because she didn't even have a postal ID when we started. Also her birth certificate we had to hire an attourney to get fixed because it listed her as a male o.O

Anyway, after one year now we have everything in order, we are married in Phil and she even has a passport and bank account now in her married name. We have embassy interview for k3 visa in March 2. I have been planning to get a place there in phil near her family home so we can spend time there as well, I know she will miss her family.

As a very white american it's interesting but I do like kinilau, fried and baked fish, lechon, rice, and even balat.....

I could easily live in Phil as long as I can travel often if I get bored.

I have been here in the Philippines working my wife's visa from here. I was just wondering if any other American/ Foreign husbands are doing the same and what are you looking forward to about bringing your wife to your country? I know for me it will be the washing machines! LOL. I just can't get use to my wife washing the clothes by hand, working so hard to keep our things clean. It really bothers me that here that women work so hard. I try to imagine one of my daughters living like a Filipina, OMG they would have collapse heheheh.

PhilippinesHave Visa delivered to hotel where I'm staying?
I am here with my wife in Manila helping her with all the final documents for her Interview on March 2. I have planned to stay until March 7th assuming we would have Visa by then and we could leave for US so I won't have to take more time from work and come back another trip. She lives in Mindanao so it wouldn't make sense to have it delivered to her place there since we are in Manila now. I was wondering if I should have the Visa delivered to our hotel or can I ask to just pick up at embassy when approved? If it takes longer than 5 days to approve then maybe I should leave for US and back to work for a couple of weeks on 2nd after the interview and return later when Visa approved? Can I find out how long Visa will take for approval at the interview? Not sure what is best way to go.. How long did it take VJ couples for average to get Visa approved after interview??

so seems like we're relatively on track

Nyseness, I am sooo glad you heard from your daughter and that everything is okay!

I heard from Marlon today too. He texted me and I called him. He said Clarendon was hit hard and it's a real mess. It will take a couple of weeks at least to clear the roads and have the towers repaired. There is no signal for Digicel in Clarendon, he was up on a hill aways away. Hopefully he will get that visa so he can come here!

I spoke to Marlon's dad today. He said he talked to Marlon yesterday during the hurricane, he was okay. His dad also got ahold of Marlon's sister and she, his mother, and nephew are fine.
