I know how hard it is but I promise it will al be worth it! Thank you! It is nice to know of people going through the same thing! Hopefully he will get a chance to come up and visit while we wait. Hang in there! I too will be filing for the K1 Visa in the next couple of weeks. It is hard to be apart but as long as the communication stays open by any media and remain focused on the happiness that awaits you, you will be fine! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Questions about after the NOA2...	As for as your BC, I'm pretty sure it just needs to be a certified copy, someone correct me if I'm wrong. What you should do is file your orignal BC with your local clerk of court. Then, if you ever need a copy, you can just pick one up there. And the copy they give you will be a certified copy. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Questions about after the NOA2...	Ok, as per the guides, it states that upon receiving the NOA2 to send fiance a copy of the entire I29F packet submitted including originals. I am going to Jamaica in 2 weeks and I planned on bringing Marlon the copied packet in an attempt to save money on shipping fees. I have yet to file my 2006 taxes or to gather information for the I34 etc. Now in my packet I submitted, I included color copies of my bc with the footprints as well as copies of letters and envelopes that he sent me. Do I really need to give him my original bc and those letters? I just barely got my bc upon the death of my mother in october and I hate to part with it. Besides, all I have beside that is a birth registration card from Kansas. Also, I would hate to lose my letters as well! Any advice is greatly appreciated and thanks! I dreamed last night that I got an email from USCIS requested proof of the level of proficiency of my fiance's French. Well... he doesn't speak French! Anyway... in my dream he did speak French but I couldn't get back on-line to send them the information. I remember being excited that they had been working on our case but was so frustrated because I was unable to get internet access. I got all excited when I woke up to see if our case had been touched but....no luck. Just thought you might have some funny dreams/nightmares to share too! Wow! That is some dream! I think that USCIS needs to understand that not everyone is rich and able to spend alot of money as well as time in another country. Uncle Sam makes it difficult enough to pay bills! Thank you, in 2 weeks and 2 days, I'll know for sure, I will be either celebrating or going through a depression. Well you know my positive vibes are with you two! If they had got married in a Christian church or some other religion and just had a ceremony without handing in a marriage license would it still be classified as married? I mean what about separation of Church and State? Wowsers! This should be pinned with huge wording that says: DO NOT GET MARRIED BEFORE YOU GET YOUR FIANCE VISA!!! I feel bad for these folks! Me and my fiancee really don't have evidence of any of this...some e-mails but nothing like concrete plans. We were just planning on doing something really simple now, so there are no invitations or guest lists or anything of that nature. We mainly discuss this on the phone. I am just going to go with the flow and hopefully my wedding will be during a cooler month here in Arizona! No offense, Sarah, but you are one I am actually referring to. By this time last year, Our case was already to the Jamaican embassy, Andre had the interview set up for June 6th, and he had his medical done. We filed at almost exactly the same time as you, only one year ago. You just never know what they are going to find to delay you along the way. None taken my friend. Strange isn't, how we filed at the same time? lol My first snag is the RFE I received. Actually, the more time I have the better, I need to organize my apartment! Now that we're at NVC and hopefully leaving NVC for the embassy soon, I'm just *starting* to look at wedding stuff again. Scoping things out VERY tentatively. There's one location that has a date available during a time that *might* work. I may take the gamble on the deposit because it isn't too much money in the grand scheme of things. But I won't go crazy booking up all the aspects because I can't afford to game that many deposits. I think it depends on your personal financial situation, how much you know about the timelines for your SC and your embassy, and how well you think you can deal with having to scrap ALL your plans and move things to a later date. If you can handle all that stress of not knowing, and it won't be an investment that will ruin you financially, then go for it. But know that no one - especially the Embassy - will feel pity or speed up the process because you've planked down a lot of cash on that dream restaurant, etc. Can I ask around what month's/dates you are considering? Thanks everyone for your feedback. I am just hoping for a Fall wedding and it is hard not to at least LOOK at things!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	I-134 questions	Hi, I'm a little confused as to when the I-134 form is submitted - I assume it is not in the first packet for approval since it does not appear in the checklist. From what I can tell it is submitted after inital approval - is this correct? When should I start gathering info for that? Start gathering info asap as some items can take a couple of weeks ie. tax transcripts from the IRS. You won't need the I-134 until the interview. Good luck on your journey!
