The Trick.... Said he missed me and was back in April 2007, he said he wanted to have dinner with both our family.
Said he also wanted to meat my friends...."thank You all for coming" and took out a box, I WAS SHOCKED.
He proposed on Sunday 04/08/07

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaInterview Date

Congrats on the interview dates ladies!
I am not going as I have obligations here at work not too mention there was a change in date via the Kingston embassy. I am very confident that Marlon will ace his interview whether he has me there or not. The questions I have asked myself before my decision were: Can I afford to go realisticly? Can I afford to take time off of work? Sure my being there would help me and Marlon present our relationship better but as long as we have all that is required he will be just fine! Besides, the worst that can happen is they can say I have to go to Jamaica. Great, no problem, I will be able to take time off during a non-hectic time etc. Whatever you decide is a good decision just don't feel bullied into going as it is not yet REQUIRED for you to be there!

We got a date Finally! 8-7-07 at 730am
we never got any info on where to go for medical
who am I supposed to make these money orders out to?
and what about the AOS they never sent it to me???
HELP!!

Congrats on your interview date Mrs. Forrester! As far as the medical goes, go to the embassy section of this site and find the Kingston embassy. There is a list of places to call and set up a medical exam. I don't know the K3 requirements though, sorry!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaPersonal Question...
My fiance and I met online last year. We had been chatting/talking for almost 3 months when I went to meet him. He proposed to me when I was there the first time. We filed our I29F in January of this year and I went back to see him in March. We were approved on August 14. Now we wait for the visa.

(2 trips and 3 months before engagement.)

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaHow did u meet your SO?
I met Marlon online while he was living in England. He moved back to Jamaica in July 2006. I went to Jamaica in September and that is when he asked me to marry him and I said yes! I went back in March 2007 and spent some more time with him. Hopefully (God willing) he will be here with me where he belongs the end of next month!

I did what TimsDaisy suggested and I contacted my district office and spoke to the lady who handles immigration cases. She was very nice and well informed. She is mailing me a release of information form and as soon as I send it back to her, she will contact CSC and find out what the delay is. I did mention to her that there are MANY people who are also waiting longer than I have been and she said she would look into it. I strongly advise everyone waiting to contact someone, nothing will be done if we are not heard.

Thanks TimsDaisy!

Good luck to us all!

United KingdomThe VJ pub chatter thread

I'm useless at celeb spotting. I live in new york so you'd think i'd see loads but i just don'e pay attention. Once in England i was standing next to liam gallagher at a urinal in a london pub and didn't realise until my mate told me afterwards.

That would be me too! One time I sat in a restaurant with Vanilla Ice and another time with Eddy Veder (sp?) from Pearl Jam. I was totally oblivious!

United KingdomReally Dumb questions you've been asked about the UK
Please excuse me for jumping into this thread but it was very tempting to read as my fiance had lived in Birmingham for over 6 years before he returned to his native country of Jamaica last year. He speaks more with an English accent rather than a Jamaican accent. I just wanted to say that I am a major in British history and know more about the UK than I do about the US in terms of politics and cultural history. I will admit that I enjoy hearing accents from England, Scotland, and Ireland and one day I would very much like to see all three places! I have a couple of friends who are from England and it is always great to learn more about England. I may be ignorant on some things but I have much respect for the UK and its people! :D

United KingdomUK "Certified" Divorce Decree Absolute
I too got an RFE about his divorce decree which I HAD submitted with the visa application! I sent it back along with a letter stating that it was all that my fiance had received. Hope it works. I do have an email from the Birmingham courts stating that it is an official document in case CSC gives me a hard time.

United KingdomBirmingham courts...

There was very recently some discussion around the UK decree absolute. This thread may provide the insight you are looking for:

http://www.visajourn...showtopic=67824

Sounds like you're the the first one to get an RFE for this! Good luck!! I hope your NOA2 comes along VERY soon!!!!

Thanks for the link!

All I know of UK divorce decrees is that they are deceptively simple looking documents. I have seen people get RFE-ed for not having one, even though they DID have one, it just doesn't look very impressive. My fiance's is just a letter that looks more like a memo, with a red or purple stamp on it, that I think says "decree absolute" in reallllly teeny letters on the bottom - like a file name automatically inserted by a computer program or something.

That's EXACTLY how Marlon's looks! I have been in contact with my Congressman and hopefully there won't be any problems! You did submit yours with your package and you were appoved?

Yes, ours was just a single page (as I can recall right now - copy of the package is at home), with that unassuming looking document at the very end. We got our NOA2 and are waiting to get shipped from NVC to the Embassy now . . . .

I've seen other people relate stories of including the same single document and getting an RFE, then sending back the same piece of paper with the words "decree absolute" highlighted and being approved. Check around this forum and maybe the RFE thread in the main K1 forum.

Ummm, I didn't highlight it! Hope I still get approved!

United KingdomBirmingham courts...
Hi. I thought I would ask my question here about a Birmingham divorce decree. I received an RFE for Marlon's divorce decree. All he received was 2 documents (NISI and Absolute decree) with the Birmingham court seal. There is no signature of the judge. I am hoping these will be acceptable by the California Service Center as I have already sent them back with a letter explaining that those were the only documents received by my fiance. I did write to the court and was informed that my fiance could send a pound per certified copy. My question is do you think I did the best thing and will it suffice? Anyone else gone through an RFE based on a English divorce decree?

Thanks!

Thanks so much for the responses! I told him I would try my best but no guarantees! He lived in England so long and got used to so much that when he went back to Jamaica it was akin to the stone age!

I thought I would post my question here as UKers in the US would hopefully be able to help me out. Marlon would like for me to send him a PSM3 magazine with the DVD and What Home Cinema. Does anyone know where I can find these here in the US?

Thanks!

United KingdomPacket 3 back in the post

Okay I'm just going to step in here and ask people to calm down. The accusations of personal grudges should either be taken to PM, reported to the admin or just stopped completely. Please don't derail this thread any further. Thank you. :)

Apart from that, this thread IS actually getting somewhere from what I can see. Daisy has used the DOS phone number numerous times and gotten results, as have other members here. Rebecca is trying to figure out whether this is something that appears to be short term, or whether this seems to be a long term thing. If it turns out that this method of finding out information is here to stay, it could be very beneficial to the VJ community, hence I am leaving this topic open for now.

Thanks Mags for stepping in! It is just so frustrating when one tries to get information and opens up a thread like this! VJ is a learning experience for everyone regardless of stage or process etc. I hate to see people attack each other!
