We are thinking of seeing if we can get him into an apprenticeship of some type or him taking classes for it. I also mentioned to him how much construction workers make and he seemed interested in that prospect. I just started a new second job at 7-11 and I like it much better than Blockbuster plus it is close to home and pays more! They even said they would hire him once he gets his EAD! lol Finesse: I wish you great success on your upcoming interview! Just dress respectable but no need to "dress up"! You will be fine and you know that your VJ Yardie family is rooting for you!!!! Here's hoping Marlon will have his visa this week! The doctor asked him when he used it and he told him that it was when he was a teenager and he was experimenting . I'm confident he'll pass since he passed the blood test couple weeks ago. He believes the doctor would not have tested him if he didn't admit to using it in the past (on the medical sheet). The doctor also told him the blood test was only for HIV and I think TB. So my advice, as others have said, is NEVER admit to using it unless you have some other reason to. And if for some reason you want to admit it, at least lie that it was over 3 years ago because they WILL ban you. And don't tek the urine weed test as gospel many people have been given blood and/or hair tests I'll get back to you about whether they gave him the results or not. There is no Digicel signal there, he had to go up on a hill aways just to get a signal! But he is fine thank God! He said it will take at least a couple of weeks for the roads to be cleared, lots of uprooted trees and electricity poles down. He said he talked to Marlon yesterday during the hurricane, he was okay. His dad also got ahold of Marlon's sister and she, his mother, and nephew are fine. I can't wait to hear from Jay and Kim! Thanks again for all the prayers and well wishes, they helped! Air-Pak told Marlon 4-6 days so not gonna book that ticket until he has his visa in hand! I am hoping he can be here next week! Empress: I was screaming too when he told me! lol Yes, we are through also. Marlon is a nice guy. I'm glad Donna and I were able to meet him. We were interviewed at the same time and ended up at Air-Pak at the same time. The whole process once inside the Embassy took less than an hour! We were out of the embassy about 8:50am. We arrived and stood in line at 6:30. We were doing good until they found Donna's cell phone. She had to go back outside and rejoin the line while I went down to the interview area to wait. It wasn't long and we were back together and finished. There were only a few questions that Donna and myself were asked at Window 3. They asked us for our own personal information. Donna was asked for her phone number and I was asked for mine. We have just had a portrait made and using the computer at an internet cafe here in Kingston. Thank you everyone for your help these past months and for everyone's prayers this past few days. VJ helps but it is God who saw us through so easily. OMG Jay! That is great! Congrats to you and Donna! Marlon told me he had the pleasure of meeting you! We should definitely keep in touch since this day is all of ours! sarah good for you....i WOULD NOT book the ticket until he has it......wait thought did he or did he not have the non-impediment form? Will they still interview and just ask you to bring back the missing information? From what I have heard and my understanding, they should go to the interview regardless of having the no impediment form. Worse thing that can happen is they are issed a 221G that basically states they need to return to the embassy once they obtain the form and then they get approved. The embassy may or may nor ask for the form. It is better in my opinion to risk getting the 221G rather than rescheduling another appointment and perhaps waiting forever for it. When did he order the form and where? i *think*...this is just my opinion.....but if you are missing the forms that need to be typed out like the aff. of support, the one paper that needs the barocde...the ds-230 those kinds of papers then i believe they will turn you away and rescedule you...because i had heard they only wanted typed out forms starting sometime last year....BUT if you are missing some papers that really are not in your control...i.e Non-impediment then i think they will still interview you but give you a 221g.... Will they still interview and just ask you to bring back the missing information? From what I have heard and my understanding, they should go to the interview regardless of having the no impediment form. Worse thing that can happen is they are issed a 221G that basically states they need to return to the embassy once they obtain the form and then they get approved. The embassy may or may nor ask for the form. It is better in my opinion to risk getting the 221G rather than rescheduling another appointment and perhaps waiting forever for it.
