K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIntent to marry...

Well, I didn't have wedding plans in my package, Ryan and I aren't having a wedding. Just getting married. Kinda saddens me. :(

Yeah, same here :( I don't want a rushed wedding that was put together at the last minute..I rather wait and have the real wedding on our anniversary.

I hope it's not required! I know I didn't include any of that because ...well, we haven't planned the wedding at all. How can you plan for something when you have no idea when it will take place? With this new IMBRA law, who knows how long it will take to approve visas. I don't know if I'm the only one who doesn't really have any "real" plans.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan someone help me??
I know a couple who did just that. After they got married, they applied for AOS. I don't really know the details, but I know it wasn't easy, or cheap. They had to hire an attorney and pay a hefty fine. This was 2 years ago, I'm not sure if things have changed since then.

It is a requirement for both the petitioner and the beneficiary.

Provide original statements from you and your fiancé(e) whom you plan to marry within 90 days of his or her admission, and copies of any evidence you wish to submit to establish your mutual intent;

Yeah, exactly. I thought it was REQUIRED. Apperently not since Gomez's petition got approved without it.

Thank you for trying to make me feel better! Im getting more and more desperated...especially when I read about people that get their NOA2s in like 1-2 months.... :o

you haven't heard from them at all since your NOA1? Do you have any idea what is going on with your case? Have you bugged the heck out of them?

No, absolutly nothing!!! :crying: My fiance is the USC and he called immigration a couple of times. At the beginning they always told him that our case is doing normal and that we have to wait till the 120 days regular processing time is over. After that they told him to wait another 30 days. My fiance wants to contact his congressman today...I hope it will help! Its driving me crazy....

Wow, that's insane!!

I think they mean it will be processed faster than the maximum date their first gave out when giving you a NOA1. Mine said from 30-45 days so it should take less than 45 days. What a relief, huh? *sigh*

30-45 from NOW or 30-45 from your NOA1? And if they say that it will be "less" would it not be sooner than later?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan anyone decipher what this means?

Hi everyone,

I got touched today and this is what it said:

"On July 5, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates."

Anyone have any idea what this means. In particular what does "the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message." I looked and looked, but there doesn't seem to be a time stated in the message.

At least it is moving along.

It means that they have absoluetly no idea what is going on and when your petition will be approved, so just hang tight and keep checking your account for a random approval date.
I read mine over and over as well, and I have absolutely no clue what they mean with "the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message ." What message are they talking about? Since THAT message doesn't mention anything about processing time.

I used the sample used on this page: http://www.kheryn.co...129fattach.html

I originally met Daniel Kelly in an online game called Terris on AOL in late 1996. Although we e-mailed each other occasionally during the months after that, we started corresponding in earnest over the summer of 1997. By the end of that year, we had decided we would like to meet each other in person.

On December 26, 1997, Daniel flew from London to Atlanta to meet me at my parents' residence. It was a short visit, but we felt very comfortable with each other and knew that we wanted to continue to get to know each other. He also visited me at the same location during my Spring Break the following March.

In order to further our relationship, I spent the summer of 1998 with Daniel. I obtained a work permit through the BUNAC program (www.bunac.org), which enables full-time American students to work in the United Kingdom for up to six months. During this time, I stayed in a spare bedroom in the house where Daniel and his brother Jason live. Near the end of my stay, August 30, 1998, Daniel proposed to me and I accepted.

In the ensuing two years, we have visited each other as often as finances and my student schedule have allowed. To summarize, in the approximately three years since the first visit, Daniel and I have visited each other ten times, as follows:

long list
of all of our visits
with dates
and who visited who
etc
etc

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresInjection Questions...

Hey all,
I posted about this in the South America section, and the lovely, kind folks there have been helping me. But, I figured I would post this here as well to see if I could get more opinions, experiences. etc. etc.

My fiance is unsure if she will be able to retreive her injection records from when she was younger. Everything was done on paper back then, and she was told most of those records are now completely gone because they've moved over to computers. They are working on it, but are not sure if they will be able to provide her with any proof that she has received certain injections on the list of required injections.

Now, the USCIS Website says not to try and fufill those injection requirements (if she can't get her records) before going to the Physician. Problem with that, is she is a plane ride away from any of the Physicians they consider approved.

The lovely people over at the South American board, have given me a very good idea of what she will need to have injection wise for her interview (and even translated it into Portuguese for me... how wonderful are these folks :D ).

I initially fell asleep on this injection issue because of a paragraph I had read on the USCIS Website. The paragraph is on the Medical Exam page, and is under the "Who has to have a medical exam?" section on that page.

Here is the paragraph

K and V nonimmigrant (temporary) visa applicants. Individuals applying for a K nonimmigrant visa as the fiancee or the spouse of a U.S. citizen or for a V nonimmigrant visa as the spouse or child of a lawful permanent resident (LPR) (including those applying for V status in the United States) must undergo a medical exam, but are not required to comply with the vaccination requirements at that time. They will be required to comply with the vaccination requirements when they eventually apply for adjustment of status.

So, what has thrown me for a loop all this time, is thinking that even if she could not get her previous injection records, she would have no problems at the Medical Exam, or the Interview, because of that statement in the paragraph from the USCIS Website.

Needless to say, I'm completely confused as to weather or not we are going to run into problems, even though from what I gather from that paragraph, it should not be a problem if she does not have all the required injections for her Medical/Interview.

Any insight, suggestions, first hand experience... ummm... voodoo witch dances... any information would be GREATLY appreciated.

Whew, my hands are tired

I was in a similar situation, but in a different scenario. I needed my immunization records for school, but couldn't get a hold of them. I just went and had a blood test and it shows which immunizations you have (and don't have). I hope that helps.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresanyone touched today?

Luis finally got through with Vermont, he was trying to get through them asking for a spanish speaker, but now he used the english option and got through.

The lady there said some officers are on vacation, so it's taking them a little longer to work on cases, 'cus of the workload. She said this are slow THIS week, 'cus many took the week off, but some are working.

EDIT: Since I haven't been touched since the 3rd, my guess is my guy took the week off, so I can go die now 'cus I won't get approved this week anymore.

Noo, no need to die. Only 2 more days left this week anyway.

I'm telling you, Mid july, next week  It's cominggggggg.

Since I didn't get touched today either, fiance called USCIS. They said "your case is being processed, estimated time, 60 days". ARGH!!!!

Didn't they say it'd take less than the processing time in our NOA1? Mine says 30 in that one.

Thats a canned answer, you could be approved tomorrow
